When I discovered this on that game. This was my first Song I'd play. I knew if I nailed it. I was going to play good that day. If not it was a off day. Turn it off and go play in the dirt
ive had this song stuck in my head for 13+ years and i just now vocalized the guitar to my brother in law, and he knew exactly who it was when i did---and as it turns out,,,,the way younger me was right, this song is badass---we were talking about forgetting things, and how sometimes remembering something is just on the edge of your memory, but you just cant quite grasp it.
I would agree and go a stretch further and say they never released a back track. Such a consistent band with a great career. Going to be checking them out in the fall at New England Hardcore and Metal Festival!!! For the 10+ time.
14 year old me had this and some Killswitch Engage albums in my CD changer. I waited for them to release and remember thrashing all over the place. With this as the soundtrack, I finally beat Ratchet & Clank on the playstation.
Dude that's awesome! I was 23 when this came out. It was right around the time the 4 hurricanes hit Florida and I ended up working 55+ hour weeks following it. Needless to say I had this album spinning in my CD player for weeks on end to help maintain my sanity. As for Ratchet and Clank, I was also hooked on those games and this was the same year that Up Your Arsenal was released, which ended up being my favorite of the PS2 trilogy.
For 10 or 15 years i wondered what this song was. Looked everywhere. Found a burned cd on the side of the road still in the case. Had a bunch of dimmu brogir. Roadrunner united etc...and this song. My sister got married to a pretty cool dude. I mentioned the melody to him and he was like yesh i listened to that on my way to work this morning its called the light that blinds. ...true story. Over a decade wondering.
I fucking saw this live when I was a jr. in high school in 2004 or 2005, with Lamb Of God & Slipknot! To this day 1 of my favorite shows I ever went to! Was like 4 or 5 feet from the front of the stage! Was incredible!
You are one lucky dude. Was too young at that time. My first show was Chimaira, Killswitch, and Disturbed in 2008 or 2009 in State College, PA. 15 years old. Crowd surfed from back of crowd to within 15’ of Howard Jones two separate times. Lost my left shoe in the Killswitch wall of death. Walked out of there with one shoe on. Unforgettable. My fondest memory with my older bro, who was maybe 18 or 19 at the time.
This Album Was A Fucking Masterpiece...I would put it up there with the greatest Metal/Thrash Releases ever made...Right up there with Puppets and Rust in Peace if I may be so bold. There isn't a bad track on the album
As a massive fan of old school thrash, I have to agree. Back when this, and Lamb of God's As The Palaces Burn came out, part of the NWOAHM (lol), I kept saying that these guys were the new Metallica, and LoG were the new Slayer.
As far as I'm concerned, this album represents the highest peak of metalcore achievement. A masterpiece from start to finish that will never be surpassed.
Whatever happened to Shadows Fall first time I discovered them was back in high school when I like 17 with a song they did with Randall Blyth from Lamb of God been a fan ever since.
@@michaelzainey5781 they were probably too heavy for radio at that time, in 04 radio rock was stuff like Nickelback, Three Days Grace, Green Day, maybe Slipknot. Not that there's anything wrong with those bands, I guess.
I just heard this song on my amazon radio thing.. I almost fucking CRIED! THis was one of the songs that pulled me into the metal brotherhood. And I haven't heard it in so long.. it was like I was a fucking 12 year old again. ANd my mind being blown! HOLY SHIT!
First heard this song in a halo 2 superjump/glitch montage on early youtube, my first introduction to any kind of music with screaming. i remember thinking, "man i really cant understand what hes saying, but it sounds sick". and thats where it all started :")
This whole album is melt your fucking face off amazing, metal core/thrash metal golden years for real shadows, killswitch, glassjaw, all that remains, bmth, B4MV, trivium demon hunter the list goes on and on lmao
One of the most unique sounding power house bands of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. I first heard this album in 2006. I was in 7th grade and had an older brother that got me into the underground world of music early on. Showed dozens of kids what good heavy metal sounded like at a very young age lol
I remember seeing this band when this album came out. Played with byzantine, agnostic front, and still remains in Allentown. Still have the ticket stub. I was 13.
One of my favourite songs. I was lucky enough to find Shadows Fall by them doing a song for the God of War II Soundtrack. I was just getting into metal, and Shadows Fall was too much for my ears to stomach to be honest, but I grew to like them like fine wine.
Anyone remember the rob van dam guy that was in wwe for a while. I’m pretty sure he used redemption for his intro I just barely remember I haven’t been into wwe since I was pretty young
One a metal head always a metal head since I was 15 going on.41 years old my age lol may be old to the younger generation lol 😆 but I'm wiser because I know more
This band deserved way more praise than they got.
Them and god forbid. Loved these guys
@@sammyevans5279 - God Forbid and Shadows Fall were 2 of my favs! Never understood why they didn't stand out more!
I grew up with shadows Fall it's a band that helped me to guitar
Facts!

Guitar hero 2 is what introduced me to this greatness

One of the first bands i heard when i was 15 yo alongside Trivium & i fall in love of them... Good memories
Same with me! Bring back old memories
Same brother!!!!! SHADOWS FALL \M/ TRIVIUM \M/ !!
GH2 memories omg
I love the slow / soft intro into the face melting firestorm of riffs.
Pretty sure that's someone else's. Came here to see if someone knew who.
All these years later and this song is still amazing.
I haven’t heard this in 13 years... still sooooo good
Hope you can come back and listen to it 18 years later now. 20 years since it was released
Every song is badass on this album
True. I blasted this CD in my car today.
All I can say, it was a blast!! 😎👌🏼

Ratchet and Clank was badass! I never beat the original.. might have to get a PS2 just to bury that hatchet. Rock on!
Same dude being 30 listening to this is so nostalgic.
@@PleaseForgiveYourself I'm that 30 year old dude. This brings back so much.
This description plus Atreyu’s The Curse and we’re sitting pretty with the early Metalcore releases 😎🤟🏼

Not really.
Absolutely agree.
As far as I'm concerned, this album represents the highest peak of metalcore achievement. A masterpiece from start to finish that will never be surpassed.
I love this album but the art of balance is probably my favorite.
This one, The Fall Of Ideals, Alive Or Just Breathing, and Deliver Us are the best ones, in my opinion.
I just saw these guys perform live in Massachusetts last month, I've been listening to them everyday since. I can't wait to see them play again.
Still in my top 5 favorite songs of all time. Perfection 🖤
one of the best metal bands by far..such talent
Hail to SHADOWS FALL !🤘🏼from KK Sabah,Malaysia🇲🇾🤘🏼
Mag1c? Is that you in my steam friend?
@@vanishingstar777 nope.

One of the best all around albums I have ever listened too. All the songs are good. Just a good band period.
Miss this band everyday. They never achieved the level of success they deserved.
What was even the problem? Was a different genre conquering the radio industry?
Without being behind the scenes its impossible to tell. Probably was something like record labels not giving them enough marketing budget and support.

@@KrikZ32Really? Because 2004-2007 was around the time Avenged Sevenfold broke through.
Used to Jam to this in my earlier stages of Metal. Still listen to it every blue moon
SUCH AMAZING SONG BY SHADOWS FALL !!!!!!!
Suuuuuuuch an underrated band! This opening solo is goddamn face-melting 🔥
I used to shred this song flawlessy on guitar hero and impress my drunk, stoned friends at the apartment complex we lived in briefly
Never could get into this album after listening to it a bunch of times when I was younger, but this song is always killer
My fav song of them, so awesome to hear them live.
After Pantera broke up and Hellyeah and Damage Plan formed, I remember this band formed too and, for me, it was a trinity of awesome!!
Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em, The Blister Exists And This Song Defined A 17 Year Old Me In 2004.

One of the innovators in Metalcore... Great band...👍👍
This song was fun to play when you choose the Grim Reaper character in Guitar Hero 2. 🤘🏻
Ill never stop listening to shadows fall! Always beautiful!!
I love the hybrid of Melodeath and Metalcore on this one.

Kind of like In Flames at the turn of the millennium
they walked the line between melodeath and hardcore better than anyone man
Still got my cds n cases from bak then 💯 🔥 🔊 vocals 🔥 🥁 🎸 are GREAT

Found this song on a halo 2 glitch montage, and come back to it every now and then \m/
Playing this in gh2 was amazing
Those bass riffs are immense. They make this song IMO. Fucking sick.
INTRO STILL SLAPS
Such a killer band they should have been big. Great song 🤟🏻😎🤟🏻🔥
Their best album
I remember seeing this band when this album came out.
Played with byzantine, agnostic front, and still remains in Allentown. Still have the ticket stub. I was 13.
One of the top metal bands. Ever.
My homie just did a cover of this song the other day and ughh its been on my mind since this band was legendary
I really shouldn't have had to rack my brain tonight to remember the name of this band....way underated
This sing is fun on Guitar Hero 2. One of the only two songs I can beat with the actual PS2 controller on hard.
SO WISH THEY WOULD MAKE A COMEBACK...."\M/"
Perfect song Never get old
Oh my God right? The memories with this album, timeless!
I got this album when I was 14 and there was a sampler cd in it and it had heaven shall burn and ion dissonance on it, that was a great purchase
Love letter to Metallica. Amazing song still jam’n in ‘24

I listen these guys from this exactly era. What a criminally effrontery and selfishness with this band. So fucking unfairly underrated.
Dope song
I remember this song from guitar hero🤘🏾
My favorite song on rockband\guitar hero
The part at 00:52 sounds like a melodic version of Vader's Shadowfear
Who remembers buying this song on Guitar Hero?
I remember seeing these guys live in 2002 at Foxtown City Limits. Cool band
this was on guitar hero
They got my respect coming from a millatary family also a band that can tear and shred it up on stage 💯 seen them at many ozzfest years back
🖤
I remember first hearing this song from a video of a guy getting shot up by paintballs from his friends lol, shit had me rolling
I forgot I used to play this on guitar hero lol

Probably the best exper5 warmup song
I love it nobody listens to the same music I like but fuck it

Fucking incredible album and band
They got my respect I come from 6 generations coming from a milliary family saw them at every ozzfest
This song is handsome. I suck at music analysis. It's just handsome.
That's an adjective I have never heard being used to describe a heavy song before, and I approve
Still here. Where is everybody. What in the hell happened. I was in a coma what's really going on.
This fuckin king intro
