Thank you for making this video! Can you talk more about online grad schools vs in person ones? I'm about to be a mother and have been dying for a career change but also don't want to miss out on any baby milestones. Ive heard some conflicting information about online schools having a negative stigma attached to it, and curious if you have any thoughts/knowledge about this. Thank you 💖
I will add that to my video idea list, but just know I have heard wonderful things about many online programs. You just need to make sure they have the correct accreditation. I have a video that breaks that down if interested.
@@allyssapowers I was admitted into a self-paced program at Kairos university (it’s self paced but they don’t really let you finish any faster than normal). So it’ll just be a matter of paying the subscription fee and getting started. I’ve been procrastinating for an entire year. I’m scared to work on school rather than income generating activities but sometimes you have to take two steps back to take three steps forward
@@allyssapowers thank you for your support with this channel. It’s a godsend with all the negativity you see on Reddit and elsewhere. Truth is every job and every industry will have trade offs :) blessing to you and yours
I would love a video about telehealth side of the industry. Is it something to be specialized in? Is it something that can be done only in private practice? I have these questions and many more about that side of being an LPC. Keep up the great videos!
Can you expand on why therapists need to continue their education every two years? Do they always research new developments in psychology, mental health, ect?
Can you tell us more about the billing manager? Is this a company or a person who does your billing? This is a skill I want to make sure I get during my practicum hours. I would love to be able to just do private practice maybe as a group first and then build my own business.
They won't teach you anything about billing or insurance during grad school, maybe if you interned at a private practice you could learn a bit, it's viewed as a separate thing.
This is definitely something I plan to do too! Thank you for being that advocating voice for aspiring therapists 🤗

@ yes please! Thank you so much! Are there any specific online programs that you've heard good things about?
I am still undecided about pursuing this but I think I’m going to get started finally
Wonderful! What will your first step be?

Do you have to pay full for health insurance for yourself each month? Is that manageable to pay ?
