    Best demo of this amp on UA-cam. Thanks for the great playing too. I agree with your opinions on the amp.
    I’ve had this amp for over a year now and I will be keeping it forever. Sounds excellent with a few pedals in front as well. I throw a wah, a Duke of tone and a rat in front of it and it’s all I need. Great amp for the money.
    Take care

    One of the best sounding BCH demos on UA-cam - a perfect combination of amp and and pickups. I'd like to hear the same recording setup with a stock Strat and a LP for comparison.

    Cool lamp, really captures that "I love to crank my amp in my Chelsea apartment" vibe.

    I'd love to hear a demo with some classic pedals like a tube screamer, OCD, fuzz face and a Klon clone :))

    It would be helpful to have a visual of the settings with each demo. Cheers.

    Mine got delivered today and I have to say it sounds great. I was really expecting a lot less power from an amp this size but it is amazingly loud, does everything from clean to crunchy and it's about 12Kg so it's easy on the back.

      I am thinking of turning to the darkside of solid state amplification. I am looking at this and the Koch Jupiter 45C....is the BC Hot loud enough to keep up with a drummer for gigs?

    • @samatza
      @samatza 8 років тому

      The BC Hot is comparable to a 30 watt valve amp, I wondered about this because valve amps are generally louder than solid state of the same wattage. I did some A/B testing on the volume levels between the BC and the Fender Vibrolux, the output is the same so it really depends on what type of music you play, the venues you play and how loud your drummer plays. For me at an average gig it's got enough power, you can get the 80 watt version if you need to get louder.

    Great demo ....out of many demos posted, you are the only one that explained the different sounds with using the Volume and Master Volume knobs. Everyone else explained all other features, but not how to get clean or dirty with using the Volume knob and Master Volume knob together to seek dirty or clean tones ... Thanks.

    I like this amp! I own one. It's an excellent AMPLIFIER behind the curtain sort of speak. But once you realized that it's not what you thought it was, the tube myth quickly disappears...

    Nice demo, nice playing. Sounds pretty close to a bassman. Would be much better with a separate drive channel, I don't think tat boost button quite hits the spot, still tube overdrive pedal can sort that out.
    I am stuck between this and the Vox AV 60.

    I really love this Blues Cube series! Please don't discontinue them later on, they are great amps. I have performed with the Artist model, and it is really badass.
    How loud can this amp get? Will I be able to play larger shows with it??
    And this guy is really great at presenting the amps versatility, keep up the good work man!

    A lot of people don't like this amp. I kinda get what they are saying. It's not a "pretty" sound, is it? But I bet this sounds brilliant in a band mix: no muddy bottom. I look forward to trying it for myself. To have a lightweight amp that can cut it at any size gig is really impressive.

    Thanks for the great review Ross. I'm seriously considering the BC Hot based on your demo. I was considering the BC Artist for its dual tone and effects loop but don't necessarily need the 80W or the price tag!. Could you tell me if both amps compare tone-wise and does the BC hot deliver the same level of crunch as the artist? Cheers...

    • @GakCoUk
      @GakCoUk  8 років тому +2

      +Simon Moore hellllllllllo thank you very much for the kind words buddy, I have to say after playing them both i do prefer the BC HOT only because i love the clean channel so much. but if you want a little more drive you would be better off buying the other model. I hope that helps you on your quest.

    Hi,
    Great sound from a great guitarist 😉
    For you, in order to reach The Derek Trucks tone in slide,which one to choose : The Roland cube hot 30w or The Roland blues cube stage 60w?
    To play in house or little scene ?
    Thanks for your help !!!

    Is it tonally different from a Blues Cube Artist or is it just the clean channel in a smaller cabinet with less features?

  • @MrFidelcaster
    @MrFidelcaster 8 років тому +2

    Nice playing and (for once!) very informative review, thanks!
    By saying that this amp has prominent bass and middle frequencies do you imply it might be more suited for certain types of guitars rather than for others, for example for strats and teles more than for LPs or hollowbodies?

    • @GakCoUk
      @GakCoUk  8 років тому +1

      +MrFidelcaster Hi buddy, No not at all, the amp does lend its tone very well to say something like a Strat. But if you dial back the bass a little bring the mids and treble up a touch i think you will be on to a winner when playing a les paul or something like that.

    I'm torn between this and the Stage. I've read the Stage is loud enough for gigs without micing it up to the PA, is that correct? What about the Hot, is it loud enough without PA as well? Or neither of them and I should just make my peace with micing it up to the PA?

    • @JELIFISH19
      @JELIFISH19 8 років тому +1

      +Road Fernium Make peace with micing it up to the PA. It's a better sound for the audience. In terms of loudness, it's probably loud enough. But that doesn't mean it has enough headroom depending on your needs.

    • @roadfernium2198
      @roadfernium2198 8 років тому

      +JELIFISH19 And as I see, apart from the 60W the only plus things the Stage offers is the crunch channel and the separate hi/lo inputs. So for a pedal boarder like me (who would only use the clean channel), the Hot would be the better choice, right? No tonal differences?

    • @jamespurvis7231
      @jamespurvis7231 8 років тому +1

      The question I'd ask would be, Headroom or screeching valves? If you want to keep a cleaner tone at gigging volume, the Stage is the one. It's also a more versatile amplifier than the Hot, you can run the Clean or Crunch channels independently, or even in parallel. The Stage is most certainly loud enough for gigs, plus you can pop the attenuation down to 0.5w to practise with.
      The Hot is the choice if you want the sound of a crunchier valve amp at gigging volume, because of the lower wattage, it has less headroom. Mic it up if you need more. It's damn loud too, but it won't be as clean as the Stage.

      Well i am "Sort of" a Brit.

    • @CaptPostmod
      @CaptPostmod 8 років тому

      Fair enough. Just mean it as a bit of constructive critique, not trolling. Randomly picked 30 seconds to listen to, and you had-
      "How defined the middle 'sort of' is as well.
      So it’s like a preamp overdrive 'sort of' thing.
      Or the preamp 'sort of' side of things."
      If you were American you would have said
      "How defined the middle 'like' is as well.
      So it’s sort of a preamp overdrive 'like' thing.
      Or the preamp 'like' side of things."
      And that would be equally worthy of feedback :)
