I am so happy for you guys. I am German and I recently bought some land in the state of Bahia in Brazil, 40 Hectares. The goal is also to use 4 or 5 Hectares for living and the homestead in general with some cattle, sheep etc and for the rest of the land basically make it a sort of park. Gorgeous place. @@freeottis No, I really wont miss Germany, despite our great achievements, life here has become somewhat "surreal", to own land is a nightmare and the amount of control government has is disgusting. I chose Brazil because I LOVE the country, it is similar to Germany in the cultural and social rules in many aspects but different enough to make it a better opition to what I am looking for in my future, so... I cant stress enough how much I love it. Been actually inpiring other friends here in Germany to do the same, to look for a way out. Just having pretty well mentained streets doesnt pay for the social growing unrest I feel in the population.

it's like seeing my dreams coming to reality through your work. I always wanted to be a farmer but ended up being a doctor as the opportunities were not too promising. Not that i don't love and appreciate my job, it's just that there is something missing in my heart. I would love to wake up early on my farm, feed the animals, do tons of hard physical labor and most importantly being self sustained. Over the years as we became economically much stable, i started realizing that we have started way consuming way more than what we give back. Back to people, back to nature. I know and do respect the hard work you are doing and wish you and your family all the best for the future. Best Wishes from Germany

People definitely need to learn LOTS more about agriculture from when kids are Kids and there is no doubt all the people would be better for it. People can life without the use of money, like the past has proved, because the main Needs in life is FOOD and the bonus is Love!
Love is not and might not be a need, but it is pretty great to have it, love for nature has to always come First.

      @@sannhetenskalseire8873 It's a true offer :)
I have helped a lot of people on Expat facebook groups over the years.
In some instances I have gotten a client out of it after people decide to move ahead with a project that needs an architecture project. But I have helped way more people with questions, advice, assessments of their land regulations, etc without receiving a penny. It's a bonus if later I am the one that can have the privilege to design something beautiful for their family and help their projects get approved and built.
I have a true passion for nature and for people. And as an architect I would love if more people built with more natural alternatives.
I am even starting a Phd in September researching natural builduings with the aim to create the regulations for the techniques and materials to be accepted by Portugal and the EU.
And I already have the experience of working with a lot of expats who came to portugal to live a rural life and to rehabilitate farms. I have clients from an aray of nationalities. There are a lot of people moving here from europe but also from the US, Israel, Abu Dabi, Palestine, I have seen it all.
I am trully a fan of Moreno and his farming practices. If nothing else one thing is for sure, when he opens a course at his farm, which I hope he doese, I will be there. And I will be the one paying money to him and not the way around. Someone being fairly rewarded for a service provided is never a leech.

We moved from the Netherlands end of last year. I was so surprised how easy it is to homeschool here indeed. In the Netherlands you would have to get a lawyer involved every year to push back on government overreach. Was well worth it for that reason alone!

I’m interested in doing something similar to this if I find a partner whom shares this lifestyle. The addition of recipes and food preservation sounds wonderful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with everyone.

Congratulations, The Morenos for this amazing achievement! I'm proud of you, and I certainly look forward to being part of this incredible journey. Starting from scratch is always intimidating, but isn't this what life is? Give it time and nature shall surprise you. I saw a video from India where they transformed a desert into a wildlife paradise; yours, compared to the Indian video, seems like a walk in the park. You shall make it, this I'm 100% sure, as such, I'm with you on this journey, all the way!
