I feel that if it wasnt Takemichi who said that to Mikey, Mikey would have been annoyed lol (or would have not taken it seriously) but Mikey likes him (although maybe he is a bit wary of him still) so he took it well and didnt dismiss it. After all *SPOILER* Mikey thinks really highly of Takemichi.

Kinda sad to think that takemichi changes personality completely when he goes back into the future. To chifuyu it must have felt like takemichi’s personality died, he wasn’t even the same person anymore.
