Ah yes! The Carolina Chocolate Drops, created magic with guitarist raising his hand and arm up and coming down on the strings with authority, while she sang from her heart. The girl couldn't sit still and danced while singing. Tight band. Congratulations on that presentation.
@luisfranchu I'm not an expert in the subject by any means, but I found her version more in line with Jessica Rabbit's version as she explains in the start of the vid. Now although that version isn't as up beat and cheeky as Peggy Lee's rendition, it does hold more in common with Lil Green's prior recording which Peggy Lee's more popular version was inspired by. To me this and Green's version fits better with the theme as a female blues piece than a pop jazz piece. Just my take on it.
OK, I'm wrong. I think the trouble is it being recorded live in a large place. the recorder isn't being feed from a mixing unit to regulate sound. Youve got a great Band and the lady is a real star, she's got a great voice and all you guys are great also.
I was actually at this performance - and kept looking for where the trumpet player was... because I was clearly hearing one... but... where is it??? It took me a long time to figure it out. Like almost the whole song.
Would have really enjoyed this if the woman near the camera would have not "barked" "Oww" over and over. Why can't people enjoy a quite song and then show their appreciation? How rude...

I think she could actually take on Peggy Lee on this one!
I am gonna start doing right after that one! Great performance . When are you guys coming to Connecticut ?
Well done on Jools Holland last night.See you in October in London.
I wonder how many watching this missed that the 'trumpet' was actually a vocal? Channeling Anne Ross?

Carl Schwamberger 'trombone'
@RedHotBrassBand
no doubt save your owws for the end on this one!
wow, air trombone...impressive
I prefer older renditions of this piece personally.
It would be more impressive if he could actually play the trumpet.
It's a nice melody but doesn't fit with the meaning of the song which is more "cheeky" and the rythim here is more romantic and calm.
