Funny that people are losing their shit, before this update is even out. PA mentioned that they will rework all classes regarding accuracy/evasion/dr, so this is basically a concept where we only know half about. How tanky/squishy people get only depends on the values in the end. Evasion already kind of works like DR in a way that it is focused around average rolls. Changing it to a 2nd DR only cuts out most of the calculations if implemented well. I also feel like this is the only way to SAFE evasion from being useless with the hit reduction, which are also needed to fix core gameplay issues like hitstutter/speedup. Most things wont be affected anyway... pve is not affected, how your cc applies isnt really affected, damage isnt affected. Only in very specific things like life on hit, defense ignoring damage and maybe some max hit skills will be affected (if they dont touch that). So just wait for the coming weeks and chill.
What do you mean PVE is not effected? DR is already better on PVE because of the increased accuracy, the only reason ppl running evasion is because of PVP, so if they take that away from evasion then it becomes useless.. Everyone will run DR now and evasion classes will fall off hard.
@@LegacyMD Thats only the case if evasion would turn out really weak. PA logically wont make both stats perform the same, because you need to sacrifice ap and accuracy to make evasion viable. Just because the stats get calculated similar, does not mean that they are equally strong.
Idk how i feel about taking any damage when evading. It means a hit actually hits you, yeah? Sounds odd. As is, if you have good evasion you have a chance of landing an unprotected skill without being interrupted... changing it to actually being hit makes me wonder if those unprotected skills will lead you to get caught w cc after the change, thus removing usefulness of those unprotected skills. Narrows field of skills you want to use due to safety... 🤔 either way we cut it, it does sound like evasion will be a meme, it's sounding like a huge buff to zerging. Overwhelming evasion who will die since they still take damage...
I have a pen centaurs and sicils wasting away in my warehouse since I'm DR but I bought them when they were quit a bit more expensive. In for a penny, in for a pound...
What do you mean with "unprotected skills will lead you to get caught with cc after the change"?
The time when EVA did avoid CC are gone for years. Thats basicly the only thing that wont change.
Evading a hit doesn't stop a cc from landing. Resist is the only thing that does that.

@@SoukenIDK i phrased it horribly, if ur not using a frontal guard or sa skill ...cc will hit you so you're not going to use unprotected stuff as much with the change due to *still* taking damage. Where as before, if you get cc'd when unprotected you could evade the following attacks and take no damage. The risk v reward has changed so you're going to take damage. Question is will the damage be enough to heighten the risk.
Then the group setting, you are low life, about to die, then you cc someone down and seem "alone," like a 1v1, and go for a combo with an unprotected skill since it's "safe," bam, archer snipes you, you evaded it but take damage...you were low life and now you're 6 ft under.
@@myTERAexperience ahhhhhh thats what you meant. I guess i can see that but honestly dont think it would effect much. Normal 1,25k-1,3k eva builds will still die on cc vs anyone who knows what they are doing.
In the end, we need to wait and see HOW exactly they change it. I just dont rly have too much hope that they find a balance and generly speaking, eva builds right now already have to dump quite a bunch of core stats just to be viable.
We will have to see how this actually pans out once it comes to live but upon first glance it looks like evasion is now just DR Lite, especially if they are increasing the amount of damage DR is reducing. Then you still have the issue of every class can run DR but not every class can run evasion at that same capacity. The future of BDO PvP might be everyone running around in DR with slightly less lag in large scale 😂
Maybe I missed it but did they say anything about HP on hit for skills and elixirs? if it's not changed at the same time it would be a huge issue for survivability.

Haven't played BDO for a while but its interesting that they are trying to handle core issues ( cc ressitance removal when ? ). I think what would make evasion more appealing is s being affected by evasion. For example gets extended by 0.1 second for skill for every 200 evasion or something like that. Or adding very short s to some movement skills. In that way evasion becomes more skill based and to balance it out increasing DR for tankier classes etc. Before you start complaining about sorc etc tho I believe, this change would require reworking a lot of movement skills but I think it would make for more compelling system overall, because you actually "evade" with your skills not passively. Evasion was never good system to begin, honestly reminds me of those old League of Legends days with evasion Jax and how Riot backpeddaled on it quite quickly.

Yes essentially you’ll take less dmg then DR depending on the accuracy of your opponent.

they are trying to reduce server lag and hit stun from classes with multiple hits
If we are going to allow evasion classes to get hit at all times. Major changes need to be made to Eva classes that have next to no protected CCs like Succ ninja that literally only has one protected CC in the entire kit, this means not only will we get caught more, but we are likely to die more During SA during trades. Some Eva Classes will need just as major of protection changes to balance this change out.
how about give us more skills those who have eva passives.
@@dukesagami9974 I think some Eva classes will need major reworks for sure or they just won’t be played at all. Longer s could work but they would have to be careful to not turn all Eva classes into Sorc.
looks like eva players will have to just get good like dr players rather than just going afk and taking zero damage

Fuckkk evasion classes. No finger to play abuse on câncer builds to make your mistakes easy to turnaround. Get Better, ninja awk here and I can asure you, its less protected to CC than the succ.
Quite big indirect buff for crypt, I guess belt price will skyrocket due to high end players pivot to other spots which will have chance to drop tokens, also dk spawn change will make marni's room spot much better.
DR builds have higher accuracy thus deal more dmg to eva builds. Since now eva works just like how dr works, Eva build should have higher something like an accuracy to shred dr builds 😅 otherwise this is pure bs for eva builds.
It's called ap. Ap is for dp accuracy is for evasion
@@Half-lifegunnar yeah but dp builds tends to have more accuracy than eva builds. And now, they are reworking evasion to instead of 0 damage, it will now act like a damage reduction. So DR builds got advantage rn since they have more accuracy to shred evasion and non for eva builds. Unless they have something like ignore dr of some sort.
@janreymaligro3507 dp armor sets has 25 more accuracy than evasion. Everyone has access to the same accessories and from my understanding they generally are swapped out to meet your needs. So it's 25 accuracy that much of a difference?
I think evasion's change is fine. It's just that rather than perma taking 0 damage, you can take *SOME* damage based on how well your character evaded (how high your evasion is) compared to the enemy's accuracy. It sounds healthier. A little less RNG, which is always good. Gameplay will feel more consistent, and it's not like you're suddenly going to be getting rekt because you're literally reducing the damage just because you have evaded it, and I'm assuming DR will also help mitigate some damage after the evasion is calculated, so overall it might even be stronger. Especially since it sounds like DR is getting buffed, which includes what little DR evasion classes have. I think it'll be fine. I don't think this is gonna gut evasion or anything.
You might not be taking 0 damage all the time only to suddenly get one shot anymore, but instead you'll just take some damage. I assume it'll feel like playing DR classes. Instead of getting nuked out of nowhere, you'll be taking more smaller hits that add up to the same amount as the sudden nuke. We'll just have to see, in my mind, it doesn't sound bad at all.
in what cases you take 0 damage,in eva lol? you always damage taking in eva, if same gear of course

@@emeukal7683 I agree , they should gave her a whip in a form of a dragon's tail which she can pull out from her upper back like a sword. With the weapon sheathed its will look like she has a dragon's tail coming off from her upper spin down to her lower back . And as she walks the tail end will be swaying from side to side. Her left arm can turn into the dragon claw gauntlet and can project the dragon head flame. But instead they gave us to poking sticks . How does that jibe with the dragon theme ??

Remove Eva and set DP once and for all. Get everyone tanked up, and then we'll speak about class balance. The thought of Eva being damaged makes no logic.
And remove grapple and q block also

They gonna buff DR even more... great, means AoS will be even harder ruled by unbreakable shields / grabs while tearing appart the only thing EVA had going for it.
Im not rly optimistic that they gonna find a good balance, right now EVA builds need to dump quite a lot of stats (Acc, AP, human AP etc) for EVA to even be viable, while depending on that the attacker fails a simple knowledge check. It is hyperscaleing after all.
In short, i have a feeling that they either gonna completly overtune EVA to a point where its gonna be completly unkillable OR they tear it down hard enough that we see a mass reroll to DR based (with near res cap for "free") AP/ACC builds as that is already the meta.
