I just took the test yesterday. With zero test prep and I passed it on the first try. It is not that hard. The first part is a paragraph test. What does the paragraph best describe. What was the writer of the paragraph trying to say and its a multiple choice. Then there were some sentences to read. You have to determine if there are spelling errors, grammar, punctuation or no errors. Word reasoning is next. What word closely best resembles the test word. It's multiple choice. It was timed at 1 hour. I was finished with that section in about 30 minutes. Take your time, you wont need all of that time but if you want to just cruise that hour should be plenty of time. The Xray was easy. They give you 30 seconds to look at images. Say keys... Their will be 6 different keys to look at. Some on key chains and some not. But, the key to this is the color. Just look for the key shapes and that color within the xray and you will see whether the keys are there or not. There are some xray photos that are difficult but just give it your best shot. And so on with other objects. You will test on things like knives, shoes, calculators, cell phones, kitchen utensils and so on. Just study the images for the 30 seconds and their color before each section. You should be able to determine if the objects are there or not. You will have to act quickly because for each question you get , I think it was 10 seconds, so you will need your thinking cap. Just relax, take deep breaths and the test will be fine. I thought I was going to be stressed out of my mind and I wasn't. Just think common sense and you should all be able to prevail. I was home in about 20 minutes after the test and already had the email waiting when I walked in the door. Then the next step is to accept the conditional / contingent offer of employment and then the next phase begins. Good luck all. Again, just take your time, relax. I am a 51 year old guy. Been out of college a long time. You should be fine. You will have plenty of time. Sit up straight and don't let yourself get into a relaxed position. read the questions aloud, or whisper them to yourself, so you stay on task and not let your mind wonder. You will do fine..... Take care and good luck.
Thank you Tara. I followed your lead and treated the X-ray part of the test like a video game. I also trusted my eyes. As others have said: if you don’t see it, it isn’t there.
Thats not true. Because you don't see it doesn't mean it wasn't there. I just took mine and had to look really hard to find some items because they have the key items in super packed luggages.
That's not true. I took the test the first time and passed. I went in cold back in 2009 when these videos didn't exist. There's a trick to doing this test. I worked at TSA from 2011 to 2013, during training they taught us how to do the x-ray test. It's really not hard at all.

I took the test yesterday afternoon and I passed! I'm not sure how well I did on the Xray portion, there were a couple images that were pretty tough, but I'm glad that I was able to make the grade!

I’m sorry but I just would like to offer my opinion weather it does anything or not. After taking and not passing the CBT test. The English part of the test is ok. Some question I just don’t understand what it would have anything to do with being a TSA Officer. Also in regards to the imaging test. Even if you are an expert there’s no way to determine if an object is there within 13 seconds. That’s impossible. I mean eventually let’s say you get the job you will learn training would help obviously. But to get rushed through a test where I guarantee not many pass because it’s not enough time. Any how I feel it’s a bad hiring process but hey I’m sure 1 out of 1000 will guess it right. Thanks!!
I'm sorry you didn't pass. I personally didn't find the test difficult but others have. The good news is, you can take it again and you will know what they are looking for.

@@Qcfinest757 No, thank you, because your video helped me out greatly. I had so much anxiety about this test all the way until i was a few inches away from spending $70 on a practice exam. I just went in the name of the lord and behold I received a message in my email stating I passed.
