2021 Altoz TRX 561 review part 2 - Still Loving it overall

I'm actually up to 32 hours now and its doing a great job cutting my lawn and I just installed the mulcher which is a hateful setup to swap between side discharge and mulch. Its still wet here in PA so ripping things up on turns is still happening but suspect if it were to dry up a bit it will get better

You did get stuck? That's disappointing to hear. I'm in a wheelchair and I'm looking for a zero turn mower that doesn't get stuck. Thus why I was considering an Altoz. There are times I'm alone while mowing and have gotten stuck at times when the yard hasn't completely dried out. When this happens, I have to get in touch with someone to come pull me out. :) A few times it took several hours for someone to get to me.

O man! having to wait for a few hours to get pulled out is no good! If your just cutting a wet soggy lawn I think it would be pretty hard to get it stuck. I went out of my way to get Stuck in a know swampy wet area. One track spun and broke through the sod/grass and when that happened I was done. Walking on foot in the area would have you sinking in 2-5 inches of fine mud. Tracks are way better in the mud than a regular tire zero turn.

would the turf treads not be aggressive enough for your purposes? Cut down on the damage? Another UA-camr has both and it doesn't appear to be a huge deal to swap...my turf tires on my JD were actually worse because they spun more and I went back to the knobbier tire.

Not sure. It’s been very wet here in PA. My lawn looks like a waffle from the track marks lol (it would be tire marks otherwise)

Curious after you had a full summer on the new toy, are you still happy with the purchase?

Yes and no. it does have a nice cut quality, ride comfort overall is a lot better than the tractor I used for mowing prior to the TRX but the tracks even in very dry ground can tear things up. I have also gotten stuck twice with it. There have been multiple issues with it as well including an issue with the parking brake, Blows blue smoke on start up almost from day one, paint flaking off the frame, a leaking gas tank and a very odd thing happened where a small rock got stuck in a deck pulley and caused the belt to wear funny then break. I have owned/run a lot equipment and never had a rock stuck in a pulley

Turns are a pain when it's wet, wheels or tracks! K turns work about the best, go slow...

674 views and no comments? Guess I will then. Lol. Why don’t they do a deck swap type deal like John Deere does with tractor and drive up onto it or up to one ? Maybe have few latches or something to lock in place to swap decks easy? 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Hey Johnny T, they do have 2 different decks, the lawn deck and the rough terrain deck that is like a brush hog with swing blades. For the mulcher to side discharge, both my John Deere 2032R and TRX get dedicated baffles installed. The john deer is easier with remove 3 blades, add 2 section plastic baffle with 4 wing nut bolts and one regular bolt and mulch blades installed. Its easier to install partly because you can stand the deck up 90 degrees. For the TRX There is a dedicated baffle for side discharge and another one for the mulcher. So not easy to get under, I used truck ramps, blades off, side discharge baffle removed, about 8 or 10 nylock carriage bolts, Mulching baffle in and carriage bolts back in and mulching blade installed.
