Cannot wait for this to hit GA. I have a cluster of 4 nodes that I would prefer to be a cluster of 3 nodes and 1 standalone node that I can manage from a single pane of glass
Looks like another vCenter for VMware. This time it makes sense when managing large number of nodes and clusters. It's awesome to see the migration tool for the nodes and hopefully between clusters. This will be a game changer for large enterprise ProxMox users.
This is awesome! I never want to cluster the nodes in my home lab because everything changes all the time, including nodes. Removing nodes, in my experience isn't easy or fun, in small HA's. In theory this could be used to replicate(no HA) a VM for a cold instance then spin it up when the other VM looses connection(goes down). So many possibilities.
Excellent. I'll be following this closely. I don't have much of a use case for this on my home lab currently but that may change after the new year if I stand up that second hybrid NAS ive been thinking about.

@@DBTechYT Instead of dumping the first recording, try and evaluate if someting is worth uploading. Stammering, repeating, not getting to the point should enough to give it another try. I'm able to handle criticism. I get it all the time. My channel is an honest reflection of who *I* am as a person, not the filtered-down version of who the internet wants me to be. I leave in my mistakes and show how to fix them. I get excited about projects and show that. I stumble over my words and call myself out for my nonsense pretty often. Instead of leaving a comment telling people these videos should just be skipped because there's no audio on any of those 6 videos, criticizing the fact that *I* don't like the lack of audio on those videos, I click away. Proxmox always seems to have surprises waiting for us.
Edit: I just installed. This is VERY exciting!
I agree! Proxmox keeps things interesting!
Prox + Community = Best Hypervisor
This and an officially supported Terraform module would make it much easier to pitch proxmox as an alternative to vmware.
looks like a great solution for managing multiple nodes without clustering

You can migrate VMs or containers between clusters, indeed.
@@kaitwo Awesome! This is going to be huge when it gets released as production ready. Looking forward to it.
So very much like xen-orchestra for XCP-NG or vCenter for VMware. Love that Proxmox is finally doing this!
Great video, thank you! PDM looks amazing to me, I can't wait to see it once it gets it's first stable release.
Good Job David thank you for the overview. We as a community appreciate it.

Amazing! Thank you for making this video. I had no idea this was being developed. I had it installed before I finished this video. haha

Great video! You said you are on ProxMox 8.2.4. Why can't you upgrade to 8.3?
I can upgrade. I just haven't yet. It's on my to-do list
Got PDM running with help of your video Thanks.
Sweet this is the first I’ve even heard of this
@@dukeseb well, it's brand new
@@PaulMansfieldyea you got me there
Once this gets fully implemented will clustering still be needed or will the datacenter manager be able to handle all of this like XCP-NG and Vcenter?
That's a good question! I think it's still being figured out.
Proxmox really should be sponsoring your videos 😊 I can tell that you're a huge fan. I really need to try it sometime!
That'd be neat, but I'm not sure I'd want to risk the relationship with Proxmox. They're great and I feel like I'd screw it up lol
@DBTechYT lol nah, I think you're one of their biggest advocates.
Awesome video sir !
Thank you for this amazing video !!!
this look cool
thx for the video
something i could use instant of clustering
one more nail in the coffin for broadcom😅
you do not need finger pring if you have a valid (not self signed) cert BTW
same concept as for PBS
that's likely true, but using a fingerprint is easy enough. Also, took me a minute to figure out what "finger pring" meant lol
Would be cool if Proxmox did like a NAS software
I know there is hundrets, and the big one is truenas
But it would be really helpful
Top of the deployments for this weekend, thanks DB! 🐺☕
It's like vcenter
First 3 mins can be skipped..
