This was exactly what I needed to see and no one else has made a video like it. Thank you!
Super pumped you found the video! You’re welcome! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
😅doesn’t show you how to fix it in the van, yet loads of slow motion shots of the ryobi and him grinning…
You have to say please! 🤙🏼
Thank you so very much! I am 72 yr old widow working on a Sprinter 90 % myself. Your details are perfect for what I have in mind.

So glad it helps! Feel free to ask questions I’m always available!
Nice and simple! So many builds overcomplicated it
Glad you found value in it!
Speaking of over complicated wheel well boxes. Just watched a video over on Travel Snacks channel. Lol check it out
It’s crazy how many different ways there are to build a van! We are just trying to make it as simple and inexpensive as possible, but still look great!
Thanks for posting this because you’re right, I also couldn’t really find anything else on this. Super helpful!
I’m so glad you found the video helpful! 🤙🏼 Are you working on a van or dreaming of one?
quick question - why not attach straight to the wall and use 12mm ply? And are the batteries going on top of the box, or on the floor and how are you fixing them down. ta!
Hey Simon! Yeah great question have you checked out the bed/bench seat video? Or the wheel well update video? Those might help explain a little more of why I did it that way. Also I have a solar panel and electrical video coming out real soon! 🤙🏼 thanks for the question!
Its ok .. burrt ya never retreat or surrender.. and ya never ever norr even a lil bits give up storage space .. 😎
Yew! 🤙🏼 thanks for watching Rick!
just found u and like what i’m seeing; i’m building my twin beds ( running n/s) on 1” 40 schedule pvc pipe that will rotate up to be toward vertical and down ( w legs) to meet the opposite side.
the length is 68 and width is 30”.. i have 5 cross members ( this includes the end connection.
what can you think of to sturdy and thin and light support the mattress on top?
i’m playing with 1/4 ply/ or 1/4 lexan/ or 1/8 sheet steel.
i thought about a transfer board ( as in hospital) but don’t know if i can find it rectangular ( they taper the head and foot area- like a casket!)
Hey Bruce! I would love to help you with your design on your build! Send me an email and I’ll do my best to answer all your questions! Eventhewaves827@gmail.com
i was hoping for more than a ❤️… but i understand
Hey Bruce! I don’t know if you saw my reply! I also replied and said I would love to help you out with your design and build! Send me an email at eventhewaves827@gmail.com hopefully you get this!
Dope work! What did your dimensions end up being?
Thanks! So I used 1/2” ply and the exterior dimensions were
L . 38 1/4
D. 8 3/8
H. 12 1/2 not including the addition on top of it. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Can you provide the dimensions of your wheel well box? How many sheets of plywood did you need for your entire build? Im getting ready to order lumber, but as a woodworking novice, estimating lumber is beyond my abilities. Thanks!
Hey Kev, congrats on starting your build!
I used 1/2” ply and the exterior dimensions were
L . 38 1/4
D. 8 3/8
H. 12 1/2 not including the addition on top of it. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
As far as how much plywood I needed for the whole build it was 3 Sheets for the FLOORING ( I would use 3/4" if I were going to do it again) probably get (1) 1/2" Sheet for the WHEEL WELLS... gauge how much you have left and then grab 1 more for the cabinets (depending on your build) Hope this helps! Feel free to comment if you have any other questions on your build!
Thanks very much for the info! I’m just barely getting to my lumber order lol. Was hoping lumber costs would come down but unfortunately it’s going back up.
Shoot, such a bummer! Yeah, I built it right after lockdown it was a pretty significant hit! Even with the high prices I was able to build my van out for 10k so it’s doable!!
What size nails did you use for the nail gun?
I used 18g 1 1/4” brad nails 🤙🏼
How did you attach your box to your subfloor
I used the Titebond III ultimate wood glue! If you’re worried it won’t hold, you could always screw in a couple small right angle brackets. The wood glue has held just fine for my build. Yew! Have fun! 🤙🏼
Can you remove the wheel wells themselves?
Hey Alex! Unfortunately the actual wheel well itself is a welded section that protects the inside of the van from rocks, mud, and moisture (do not remove). If you are talking about what I built, those are not removable. Check out my electrical system video and you will see why I wanted the wood wrapping the wheel well! Thanks for hanging out! 🤙🏼
Well, well, well
Crazy eyes
Thanks for watching 🤙🏼
This was silly.
Glad you watched it! 🤙🏼
