Great vid. As a side note, when you open Gmail, the layout on Zfold 5 potrait hence it won't split. If you rotate to landscape, it's exactly the same as PF.
Samsung may not improve so much on hardware but their foldable software is unmatched.

"It's not optimised for wider display" you are getting tablet view for apps on pixel because inner display is in landscape orientation, turn fold to landscape mode and you will get same tablet view. Z fold has an option hidden in settings to force landscape view in portrait mode. OS in my opinion is better optimised on z fold.
As a person who is currently daily driving a foldable, I see lot of nitpicks that most reviewers miss out on.
One thing that I want to know about pixel fold is how it will present portrait images from camera sensor on internal landscape display.
I kind of didn't want to nitpick on this.
But if you open an app and turn the Pixel Fold into portrait mode, it asks you to restart the app to fit the aspect ratio which is a bummer...

Personally, the only thing I can defend pixel fold you pointed out is the bezels. I mean, for a bigger display which should be used as a tablet, those bezels are fine. But other problems are real issues they should fix with their next gen fold.
not just for folds, but for the 'a' series as well, which have major heating issues, considering its a high selling phone in India.

Regarding the security and software updates for the Pixel Fold, I've heard that Google is offering 3 years of updates with an additional 2 years of security updates, whereas Samsung is providing 4 years of software updates and an impressive 5 years of security updates. This discrepancy is a significant downside for Google
Thats just one OS update difference, its not too bad downgrade, but a bit awkward that Google makes android and is worse at updates than Samsung.

Google is the creator of Android and they are offering Pixels 3yrs of OS update for a reason right? They know Android phones are capable to handle only 3 OS updates that too on the 3rd one the users experiences either lag in day to day use or experience battery drain, etc. Google aims to deliver as smooth experience they can with Pixels!
On the other hand Samsung is offering one extra update life cycle which on paper sounds good but from practical usage POV, I think it's BAD!

I liked the form factor of the pixel fold than any other foldable available.
One of the things I love about Pixels is the Vol and Pow button placement.
Turn your Z Fold into landscape mode and you will have exactly the same app layout on both phones! The optimisation of the apps is the same for both phones. It's just the screen layout that differs...

using the PF since july 5th and the fold 5 since its launch want to point out a few things. First on android 14 beta the PF has never overheated on me(in live in florida too and am outside alot during the day filming and downloading). Second as of yesterdays update all apps on the pixel fold can stretch that arent optimzed for the tablet just like the samsung z fold series.
Which of the two do you prefer? If you could only pick one for your daily use which are you taking? Pixel Fold or Z Fold 5?
@Super-c00n me personally prob the pixel fold, since I'm on the go alot the outer screen makes it easy to use on the fly. Then pure android I prefer as well.

Main screen + wider when needed
Quick screen + wider when needed
Except samsung, all other brands employ the first one. But in this case the ratio of using wider screen is like %30 and makes you think why not to buy just an ordinary phone and a tablet?
I’m fancy of second choice here. I want a quick screen where i see notif, change music, quick insta look and wider screen as my main screen
Just one advice..
Fold and flip stuff are still a mess , you can find lots of these 150k to 200k priced folds under 50k in the used market , or even cheaper.. and there are lots of these phones selling for 10-20k with broken inner displays...
And as i noticed , the repair cost for these displays is 40-50k... which is insane , and these displays are still fragile , and likely to mess up ( black dots , Green lines , or totally dead )

One good hope for Pixel fans and users is that from Tensor G5 onwards, Google will be using TSMC's fabrication ditching Samsung and their integrated Exynos. This new chip will be completely designed by Google and employing TSMC's fabrication would mean end of that heating issue and rather we might see a very competitive alternate for a processor. It may still not be on par with the performance levels of SD/Mediatek/A-Bionic but a fully custom chip with Google's AI and Machine learning appears to be exciting. So fingers crossed 🤞 for Pixel 10 😊
One serious request. I am planning to invest in the fold 5. Can you make a video on how fold 4 faired in terms of durability over the last 1 yr? And how the hinge and the screen ages? Coz i have used flip 4 for a year and there are some issues i encountered which i didn't know before buying*

I am using fold 5 for a month now. So far no issues with the hinge or any other parts. Fold 5 is so solid and extremely well built. Just enjoying using fold 5.
Fold 5 is 1.5 lakh, s23+ is 90k and tab S8 is 51k. Get the best if both worlds don't get stuck in middle
The 5 is more durable now. I've never had any of the Fold series fail on me though.
I Pixel 7 doesn't drain batter that quickly but yeah it has its own downside, not letting me play any games not even basic ones like Pokemon GO

2:50 Nothing new here. In OnePlus 11R, it has 4MP (Pixel binned to 4x4=16) front camera, same goes for iqoo and most other smartphones nowadays has under 10MP front camera.

I now believe that we give *too much credit* to pixels for its software optimisations but the truth is hardware wise it's not just bad it's garbage at this point. Bad processors lead to bad battery performance and gaming, followed by bad display (not LTPO and 120hz in their respective price cough* 50-60k and 30-40k).

My requirements are a good camera for astrophotography, able to take good video with better stabilization, better battery and charging speed with long term usage up to 5 years. Pixel is good with camera but Samsung has better video stabilization. I am not a hardcore user who plays game n all. Please let me if you need any additional details. And will be happy if you respond
For Folding phone. Those who don't use it as daily driver please stop complaining about
1. Cover screen : since fold screen is narrow it handy. Just imagine old days Nokia phone they were bulky, but due to smaller width the phone is easily handy on one hand .. and i appreciate it that way rather then samsung watching youtube and making it fold series wider..
2. Many non folding youtuber address about cress ... seriously it not visible and also remember all scrolling apps like youtube or instagram or whatsapp or any app then do up and down swaping action and not sideways ... so cress is not felt by fingures too.
3. Complete shutting phone : doesn't makes a deal to end user .. since as a experience manufacturer how to keep fold phone inner screen last longer should be the priorities rather then making complete shut... small dust if taped inside can damage screen if phone was complete shut...
One tip for samsung : guys do u remember edge lighting ... samsung utilize the gap to acts as edge lightning for notification light .. and it will be awesome and killer feature rather than non folding youtubers complaining about closing shut ..
1. I will just need samsung to give the latest tech like camera of ultra on fold ... take 2L rupees but just give then your best tech on fold series. Since if I am having the money to buy 1.6L fold I will have money to buy the silght increase price with the best tech
2. Battery backup : samsung As I Said bulky phones can be heald easily with perfect width .. so make next fold last longer with the expense of thickness.

Both S23 Ultra and the Z-Fold 5 are very capable and powerful smartphones in our opinion you can’t compare these phones from a smartphone performance:offering POV as the questions comes down to selecting between two form factor of phones-
Foldables vs CandyBar (Normal) phones.
What we would suggest is if you are really into multitasking and stuff then having the extra screen real estate always comes in handy so you can go with the Z Fold 5 otherwise you can get the S23 Ultra and save some 💸

Out of the two you’ve suggested you should go with the ASUS TUF i5 10th Gen as it’s band for the buck. But here is a small suggestion from our side bro 😉
If you are strictly on the budget then ASUS TUF i5 10th Gen is good one to go and if you can push your budget to maybe around 62k then the ASUS TUF i5 11th Gen would be a good option to consider as GTX 1650 is very old mid range GPU launched back in 2019 which is old TBH. It’s better to get a laptop that has at least RTX 3050 GPU these days!
