  • That's right, another in the new wave of what I'm calling Spring Blowback shell ejecting toy guns. Fills an interesting niche for props, but how does it compare to either the earlier cheaper one I got, or just using a gas blowback airsoft?
I wanted to find out, so now you can too.
So many choices, none of them perfect, but each with their uses...
Previous/related videos are linked at the end.
So what do you think? Better to have the shell ejection like this, or better to have the metal and build quality of an airsoft gas blowback but no shell ejection? Ideally, for gun wrangling, I'd have the same model in many versions: rubber (maybe soft foam and hard rubber or plastic), gas blowback, shell ejecting (which could be the cap firing modelguns, gas blowback shell ejecting, electric shell ejecting, or these spring blowback shell ejecting ones), and blank firing (maybe both top and front vent)... maybe even real firearm versions with or without blank firing adapters too... but there are only a few models I have in more than two or three different versions, sadly, especially if we get picky about things like trademarks and other exact matches.
See www.fightdesigner.com for these and other rental props, or the Theatrical Firearms Handbook (on Routledge.com, Amazon.com, or other book sellers) for more info on their use, The Screen Combat Handbook (ditto) for more on how to shoot action scenes on camera, or www.KevinInouye.com for more on me.

Id say practical shell ejection vs vfx adds good value

Yeah, among other things they sometimes have VFX folks who just don't know anything about firearms, so they do things like CG in "bullets" that are complete unfired rounds of ammunition, or Foley artists add sounds when there really shouldn't be any...so the more we can do in the armory department, the more we can keep things right.

@@pewtube ejecting full rounds yes that is a hilarious goof for sure. For that shell ejecting glock, i'm imagining a shot like the scene from Goodfellas, when Tommy wacks Stacks in his apartment, the angle and slo-mo shells ejecting was great.

I think the camera should constantly focusing on the guns rather than your face, also if you're making a review them measure the length breadth and weight of guns also so that people can have an exact idea what are they buying. Also one request on Amazon there is a glock gel blaster gun available in blue & dark blue colour please make a review of that product and tell about the weight and quality of product like what part is plastic what part is metal etc etc.
