I dried the tank out by letting it vent in a warm area. Even giving a quick blast with a low heat gun to get things started. Admittedly rust will from quickly, on any clean metal surface depending on the environment. For light rust after, the fuel should start removing this natural. I'd recommend an inline filter to prevent additional issues if possible. ✌🏻

I'm more partial to vinegar, myself.
I'd say that'd probably be cleaner than using molasses. Interesting to see the affects with this one
