I started journaling w/ Day One when I found it through your channel a few years ago! I'm up to 1,532 entries now, which is crazy. Loved the video, as always
You were the one who helped spark my digital journaling habit in Sep ‘23 and it’s made all the difference! I still sometimes journal in a notebook, but I’ll just take a picture of the entry and upload it into the app. Seeing each day filled is so satisfying!
I have been watching your channel since your physical journaling days, and when you switched to digital is was SO tempting. I've been journaling since 2018 physically & I'm so resistant to change after so long. You make an extremely enticing argument for digital journaling, and I think you might've made me a convert. 💀 I love going back & reading first interactions & seeing relationships grow through my writing- and the thought of doing a lil 'ctrl f' moment for names has me sold. Soooo I think starting in February I will give it a try 🙈 (Also you mentioned your creative juices were flowing on IG with this video & you absolutely delivered 👏)
Great video, thank you! You’re the first person who has said start small and you’ll naturally add more in time. I had so many false starts by trying to do too much, and I worked out too that starting with a few sentences is the way to go.
I really liked this video a lot. So much of what you said resonated with me. I have been using Day One for a year now. And I have been way more consistent this last year because of using Day One.
Stumbled on this video - my therapist suggested I start taking up Journaliing to manage my stress level currently. We're in a bit of a finance pinch so an extra month of premium will really help us out and thankfully the URL still works 6 months later - thank you!
You won me over, Beatrice. I think I’m gonna switch over to digital journaling, bc you’re right, it does take so long and so much more motivation to do it on paper. I’ve been journaling in physical journals since I was 9 (I’m nearly 18 now), but I think I’ll be a lot more consistent digitally. This video got me motivated! Thanks for all you do💕💕💕
It's nice to be reminded that we don't need to go all in but can start just with little steps and build onto that. I tend to forget that, to build an habit I don't need to be perfect at it from the first try (which is completely unrealistic and impossible, I know). Thanks ❤
I told my best friend about day one by listening to your reviews and he loves it!! Even started journalling because of you, and it has really helped me in these past 3 yrs. Absolutely love it. My comfort channel for sure!♥️✨
You inspired me to finally start using Day One premium last November and I've written an entry every day since!! You're so right, the longer I've kept this habit, the more personal the journal has become. And love the additional tips from this video ♡
Girl since you introduced me to Day One it has changed my life. I have a place to write down my thoughts and then if I want to sit down and journal on an actual notebook, there’s no pressure to write as much because Ive already typed it all! ❤❤
Thank you for this video! I always love hearing how other people journal :) I‘ve been journaling on paper everyday for 4,5 years now and here‘s my pro‘s for paper journaling :) It slows me down, so I get more intentional with what I write and it helps me sort my thoughts better. I can also not just delete something, it will always be on the page, even if I cross it out, which I think contributes to the intentional part. I can also see my handwriting style evolve throughout the years. And: I love going back to flip through! As you said, the key to journaling is finding the way you enjoy it the most!
Yess thank you for the other perspective! I totally get all those pros and I think it depends so much on your personal preferences (◡‿◡✿) the best way to journal is the way that will make it a fun habit hehe
I started journaling because of your channel. Doing it on paper wasn't practical for me, but DayOne has been truly life-changing. I love uploading pictures to it. Last year was the best/worst, the most dramatic year of my life with so many changes. Many days and weeks, I felt lost and disconnected from myself due to everything going on, like things started to not feel real. I took photos of those moments, and months later, when I started using DayOne, I uploaded them. It's just crazy to see how uncertainty gets resolved over time and reflect on those moments that led you to where you are now. I've never commented before, but I've been watching you for years! Love all your content
WOW. This is exactly it! I'm so glad that you've found journaling useful 💛 I'm sorry last year was so tumultuous for you! I wish you all the best for 2024, thank you so so much for your support all this time!
Really happy that you got the atention of Dayone, Congratulations! Also, this video is insanly well produced; as a fan from a way back, I can see you really are getting better at this craft
loved this video as usual! i've been trying to start implementing journaling into my life more regularly rather than a one-off things everytime i have an issue i need to rant about (lol), so i'm definitely taking some pieces of your advice!
I'm also all for digital journaling. I really like Capacities for this which also lets me create a connected network of everything that is important to me. And it's free. ☺
Thank you for sharing how you use Day One! I also got it because you mentioned it, and I’m on my 250 day streak of journaling. I never thought I would journal consistently, but now it’s my favorite way to decompress. Congrats for the sponsorship!
I'm so glad they're finally sponsoring you! I've just redeemed the code and am sooo excited to finally have premium! :D Dayone is great, especially because of the photos and calendar views. Ever since I heard about it from you, I moved to completely digital journaling. I used to be a hardcore physical BuJo girl but now I use Dayone, iCal and Notion for organizing my life. As always, thank you for your videos
A few years ago I already knew about the benefits of journaling, but finding your videos gave me the final push to do it. Now, I'm the one recommending journaling (and your channel) to my friends 😂😂. Day One sounds amazing!!
I have been on and off journaling with day one since 2021 and just set a goal for myself to write something and take some photos everyday for the year 2024 and I have a streak in the app for 37 days now. I feel very happy to have started this. I wish I started when I was in college but that would have been a long time ago. Glad to start it now tho.
omgg this is such a nice summary of this habit! i completely agree that making your journal your own will make you more likely to keep going back to it. also, you make digital journaling sound pretty fun tbh... may have to give it a try ;)
I always enjoy your videos! For journaling, I prefer digital over paper. With paper my hand gets tired writing. But most of all I prefer digital because I want my journal to be private. You get the most from journaling if you are brutally honest with yourself. If I used my paper Bullet Journal, I would be cautious because someone else could read it. So digital is the way to go. I do use the Bullet Journal to jot down quick thoughts that I can later elaborate on in my digital journal.
I used physical journal sice I was a kid. But I usually wrote for a week, a month... And then I stopped. And after some time, I bought a new one and the cycle repeated. I was always like this which is kinda sad. But today, you convinced me to try this app! I'll see if it's something for me - so the free trial is amazing for this opportunity. Thank you 💖
I’m all about journaling. I love to use pen and paper, but every now and then I use the Journal app on my phone and/or use the voice recording feature on those times when I have no energy left to write or type. I’ve always said this: the method itself doesn’t really matter. A journal is a journal.
oohh I really like that, I've actually never used the voice recording feature but honestly, it would be SO cool to back and HEAR myself talking about some big event!
Thank you for sharing your experience with journaling! For the last 3 years, I've been using Daylio app for mood tracking and something akin to journaling, more like daily reflections. Writing anything that is on my mind, thoughts, what happened, etc. and adding photos and stuff. Some entries are long, some are just photos, and some are just 2 words... Really helped me with some emotionally difficult times. But recently I have been really interested in starting to ACTUALLY journal and reflect, hoping it will help me with understanding myself better and stuff like that. Been looking at the Day One app for a while as well. Maybe this is my sign to try out the app :))
Unfortunately I had a bad experience in my first month of using Day One, my entries were deleted TWICE on different days and the support wasn’t able to help with this problem so I stopped using it
Oh shoot I'm sorry to hear that! A long time ago I had something like that happen where I think I had Day One open on my computer and phone at the same time and so the entry I wrote disappeared when it synced, but it hasn't happened lately (even when I have it open on both devices), and also never to entries that I wrote in the past or to multiple entries. Was it like that for you? or were they entries from a few days ago or longer than that?
this sounds so cool. ,s,omething similar i ahve been doing is taking snaps and writing on them.. its easier and beginner friendly. You don't have to allocate time...and multiple entries is posible. Another thing that works for me... is printing pictures from the gallery at month end... so like you can get entries of everymonth and nor worry about missing out everyday. The process is extremely fun and whennuou look back at your journal It looks *chefs kiss *. If you want to do it on paper. I do admire her daily journalling practice... something I want to do in the future. Just that not all days have the time... 🤗
Oh that's so cute!! How do you print them? I just got a lil photo printer for christmas so i'm wondering what sorts of photos to print and where to use them hehe
@@TheBlissBean i have a Canon printer at home. I make a collage of all pictures possible and quotes Aswell. Print them on a5 size as it fits my journal better. The cutting and sticking process plus adding brown paper or stickers to jazz it up is like a self care day in 🥰🥰 Also what pictures I choose depends. I tend to focus on outings with family and friends for 1 page spreads. And then go for any tiny memories I feel to take over... and then some pictures of me studying or working out just to pat myself on the back. I make sure to take in screenshots of series/movies I enjoy at that time and also the events related to txt(my fav kpop group). Even if I don't journal everyday... I make sure it all gets logged in and the process helps me practice grattitude for all the happy moments in daily life 🤗🤗🤗
I just signed up eeep I have been journaling digitally for a couple of years, but in goodnotes. Sometimes the app can be frustrating to use, but I like that I can memory keep with a scrapbooking style. But it sometimes takes too much energy/effort to do things that way so I don't end up doing it at all, and we are about to try to have a baby and I want to make sure I'm documenting all those things daily and will NEED it to be super low effort most of the time. Haha. I played around and it looks like I can still memory keep a page in goodnotes on the days where I want to, export as a photo, and add to Day One and it will show up as a full page in the pdf and printed copies of the journals, so I think it might be best of both worlds for me. :)
Ohh that sounds like a great workaround! Totally agree that a habit needs to be the least effort/friction possible, with the *option* to do more when you feel like it! Good luck 🤗
i really like the therapeutic experience of journaling in pen n paper but i also want the accessibility to link n organize my journals by using hashtags in digital journaling😭 idk how to choose at all n it feels dumb to transfer it from time to time
I am trying it out at the moment, one thing I struggle with is the markdown thing, which seems to be required for the Habit Tracker template. I do wish it would be easier, it is something I want to use. Otherwise I'm enjoying the opportunity to dump my thoughts when my mind gets too busy. I hope I can make it work for me.
Hi Beatrice! At the moment I am not studying or working (I start working again in March) and I find it hard to journal daily as my days are very repetitive and I spend most days alone (once my friends are all either working or studying). Do you have any suggestions on what I could journal about / what is interesting to keep track of even when i am not working on certain goals at the moment
OMG I'm in the same situation!!! My exchange starts in April so for now I'm stuck here and I have nothing to do most days. I think it's actually a great time to focus on yourself and maybe let that brain run free! Your journal doesn't only have to be about things that are happening! You can make bucket lists, brainstorm activities to do alone etc... I'm usually drawing to pass the time and I think I'm gonna download that day one app! I would love to get to a rate of one drawing a day and then just have a WALL OF THEM!!!
@@ze_zamzam Yesss so I have the Day One app downloaded and first I was writing twice a day, mornings and evenings, now I feel like I am always writing about the same things and because of that it demotivated me and I quit journaling around the beginning of December... but once I bought the app I feel some pressure to start again, I like the ideas you gave me! I'll definitely look into that
You mightve just convinced me to go digital. I still feel very attached to having a physical journal so maybe i can incorporate it in a different way. Curious about the privacy with this app. Ill have to look into it before i comit :)
Heyo!! very very important to consider - this a few days ago so you probably already found the page hehe but I think this one is helpful to look at to decide if it works for you! dayoneapp.com/features/end-to-end-encryption/
Hello! I recently got back into journaling via DayOne (I used to use it years ago), so this video was right on time. Maybe you have already, but if you haven't could you go more in depth about your weekly/monthly reviews? What's included in them and how you use them?
Hey girlie! you sold me on this, I've been slacking on journaling like mad the last year or so and this has me typing for hoursss, just like you said about typing faster than writing in a real notebook. I might just not know how to do it but is there any way to change the font? or even when adding photos to make them smaller and move them about? silly but thought i'd ask😆
ahhh that's amazing! oh my gosh YES there is a way to change the font. So go to the toolbar at the very top and click on "Day One" > "Settings..." > Appearance, and then you can choose your font and font size. As for moving around and resizing photos, i don't think you can do that :(
I really like the idea of daily journaling to be able to reflect on it, but whenever I’ve done this I end up way more bogged down in the negatives and feel like I’m just reliving the bad parts of my days. I was using the Daylio app in a similar way to how you use Day One, and I also had a really long streak on it, which basically made me feel like I had to keep going. When I eventually stopped, I felt such relief not having to just go through all my negative thoughts again. I struggle with my mental health and can’t easily evaluate things to have a more positive attitude. How do you advise navigating this? Currently I use a physical journal with prompts to try and explore my emotions, or just daily gratitude and things I’m proud of myself for, but sometimes it feels too much like a chore or like I just keep writing the same thing over and over again.
I get that sometimes when journaling - it’s easy to just unload about all your problems. Of course that’s still a healthy thing to do in moderation, but I also like to journal about things I want to do for the day and how/why I want to do them, etc. You can write about things you’re looking forward to that week, describe your dream house, day, friend, etc.
I've tried a Journaling app before and I'll agree they're very helpful with consistency but I could never get over the feeling that my private thoughts could be stolen or viewed by someone else since the digital sphere is never really safe. How do you get over this feeling?
honestly maybe I'm just a more trusting person hahahah, but when I'm entering and app and not a website, I do feel safe about it. I feel much more unsafe when writing in a paper notebook that someone could peek into or that could be lost or stolen
@@TheBlissBean Can you please make a updated video about it and please also suggest some good app for the same thing in android? I tried toggl but it is overwhelming
Hello i just ran across one of your videos from 2020 from Pinterest about pen palling .....and i want to start... please help 😊im Joanne....i live in Miami...i suffer from sciatica but I'm trying to stay upbeat i am a crafter and want to start a lot of new things journaling as well.....😊
Please don’t journal in an app. You have no control over who has access to that info or what it will be used for - consumer research, AI training, facial recognition training, etc.

Thank you for sharing this ❤️
thank YOU for watching!
Thank you !
Hey there!! I have this video on monthly reviews bit.ly/49kUqQo and this one on weekly bit.ly/3SsYkic 😊
Hey girlie! you sold me on this, I've been slacking on journaling like mad the last year or so and this has me typing for hoursss, just like you said about typing faster than writing in a real notebook.
You can write about things you’re looking forward to that week, describe your dream house, day, friend, etc.
love your content!
keep ding
First!!! I love your videos! Abt to watch 😁
that's awesome! I'm officially a day-one premium user!!! thanks B
eyyy that's amazing! Thank you Nick!
Really like your videos. Made me hit the Subscribe button
HACENDADO tea! that was unexpected 😂(I'm from Spain)
"my hand would get tired" yes why no one talks about it 😭
also I go to a paperless university and generally take notes digitally hahahah so i feel like I have fully lost my handwriting stamina :')
Do you still use now then pro app?
I sure do! I LOVE IT
@@TheBlissBean Can you please make a updated video about it and please also suggest some good app for the same thing in android?
I tried toggl but it is overwhelming
Muito bom!!!! ❤❤
Hey! I wanted to try DeayOneJournal but i see that it's not for Windows :(. Is that correct?
noooo you can't download it as an app BUT you can use their web app! 💛
@@TheBlissBean ohh thank you so much, i'll check it out :)
I don’t know why I can’t download the app from app store in turkey :/
Does the code still work ?
it should!
Hello i just ran across one of your videos from 2020 from Pinterest about pen palling .....and i want to start... please help 😊im Joanne....i live in Miami...i suffer from sciatica but I'm trying to stay upbeat i am a crafter and want to start a lot of new things journaling as well.....😊
Hi Adele.
Hey do you need Video Editor. I can help you to save your Crucial time throughout my Editing skills.
heyooo, thank you but editing is actually my favorite part hahahaha! So I'm not looking to outsource, but I appreciate it 👋
you mean you journal everyday with your loptop?
yup!
Please don’t journal in an app. You have no control over who has access to that info or what it will be used for - consumer research, AI training, facial recognition training, etc.
maybe don't fear monger when those things also occur with just a youtube channel. should she stop doing youtube too ?
