Hotel Review: Station Hotel Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland - May 2022
I stayed at The Station Hotel in Aberdeen for two nights in May 2022, which cost a very reasonable £113 for 2 nights including breakfast. The hotel is very conveniently located for Aberdeen Railway Station, in fact it is around a 1 minute walk from the station, straight across from Union Square.
This is an old building, which is grand and classic in style, but unfortunately this comes with upkeep problems, and my room on the third floor (311) had quite a bad damp problem in one corner. The room was very large with plenty of floor space and high ceilings. There was no safe, but there was a double wardrobe and a very comfortable king-sized bed. There were plug sockets near the bed, which was convenient and a flat-screened TV.
The bathroom was small and outdated with a shower over the bath, I'll be completely honest, I wasn't happy with the bathroom, it needs modernising.
The breakfast buffet at the hotel was OUTSTANDING, truly delicious and almost worth the money alone.
I slept well and enjoyed my stay at the hotel, but I will say that I do have an issue with the rooms advertised for this hotel on Booking.com, which are lovely looking and boutique in style, which isn't what I got. I would consider staying here again for the breakfast alone, but if I was guaranteed a boutique style room I would definitely stay here again in future.

This place was supposed to have a huge refurb and be converted to one of the IHG Hotel Indigos but then the oil business slowed and then the rona came and it never happened. Shame as it could be a really nice hotel

Thanks for the information Christopher, it is a grand old building, but definitely in need of some TLC and a refurb. I do hope that this will eventually happen.

I got bitten with bed bugs in there years ago when I told my company the girl said that’s nothing one of the boys got electrocuted last week with the kettle.😂

Sorry to hear that, I must admit, I don't think I'd stay there again until it's fully refurbed.
