Thanks for this video. I injured my knee while crawling three days ago. No pop, lock swelling or temperature that I could notice, just sudden severe pain under knee cap. I could stand and bare weight on a hipper extended leg but felt severe pain on low center of patella as I bent knee slightly forward, past this point pain disappears. There's also palpable pain on inside of knee about an inch away. There's a bit of knee instability or weakness, can't exactly tell. Today, three days later, pain is almost gone but still some instability or a type of wobbly feeling, can't describe it. Throughout the ordeal I had no pain moving leg in full range of motion (up, down, up to chest, down to floor, side to side, twisting) except the spot mentioned before. While sitting or standing with a fully extended leg there was no pain at all, only while standing, with knee bent forward slightly. I could walk with a straight leg but no bending it for the first two days I can walk somewhat today. If not better in a few days I should see a doctor. Could this be an ACL tear? Any guesses would be great thanks!!

Hey , I just got an mri done and it came back as a “low grade partially torn acl and low grade partial thickness tear of the lateral meniscus. I followed up with my surgeon next day he’s very good works at NYU and he said 6-8 weeks of rehab he thinks at age 25 It’ll heal by itself . Is this a smart idea or a surgery is needed ?

@@pigheartsmith2218 Same and I'm 24. Haven't done an MRI but Doctor suspects grade 1 ACL sprain. He recommends 2 months of physio with emphasis on muscle strengthening and stretching. I have crazy imbalance and possible muscle atrophy so I'll stick to recommendations.

if you are a pedestrian yes....it will heal over time but athletes have to have the surgery and the rehab because they normally have a timeline to get back on the field.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but no. It will not heal. It’s one of the few parts of the body without a direct blood source/flow. It will not heal on its own. Grade 3 requires surgery and likely, a replacement ACL. They may be able to make one from a small portion of your hamstring (which does heal), but if not, you will get a cadaver ACL. Sorry buddy.
