Thank you for giving us the opportunity to experience this wonderful tour of a UNESCO World Heritage Site! 30:01 I loved walking through this place in the video! This place has a wonderful history!
You are welcome my friend! It is my pleasure to share it. I am glad that you like it. I agree with you, sunset light entering through the arches of the building gives a very beautiful look to this scene. Thank you very much for your visit. Have a nice week!!
I have never been to Madrid before. Thanks for virtually taking us on this lovely walking tour with you. Such beautiful historic architecture, lovely landscapes, buildings, fountains and much much more. Very nice and smooth videography. I enjoyed this wonderful tour. Have a great day my friend.

It's a great video, your preparation and shooting style, the quality of your video is great. This garden is truly extraordinary, I especially loved the Palace, it is wonderful. Thank you for your beautiful walking tour, greetings from Izmir.
Hola! Enjoyed watching the tour on a Sunday night with a hot cup of coffee. 😄 It was quite a surprise to see a peacock walking around. Too bad he didn't spread his feathers for your camera, like a 'proud peacock' should. 😄At first, I thought it might belong to the lady sitting on the bench, like a pet peacock, but then I saw the other one. 😄Guess the birds live in the gardens. Nice. When I saw the bushes at 5:30, it reminded me of the ones at my old house. I used to keep them cut just like that. Thank God I don't have to cut them anymore! Too much work. 😄 Loved the cascade at 8:35. The sound is so relaxing. It's really amazing how the river flows through the palace and gardens. It's also amazing how many statues and fountains there are in the gardens. You could spend an entire day just admiring the artistry At the Hercules statue, it looked like there were lights in the pool. I wonder if in the summer the pool is filled with water and those lights are used? Must really be something to see at night if so. I didn't expect to see a church, but this is Spain, so I know there are beautiful, old churches everywhere. 😀 This one was beautiful, and a bit different than the others. The arches in the church and the square were really impressive, and it got even better! Nice cafe there walking down the colonnade. Hmm, am I using that word correctly? I looked up the definition, and it seems to fit. Anyway, what a beautiful shot at 29:41. And the view as you're walking down the colonnade (???) in that golden afternoon sun, that was a highlight for me. And, as luck would have it, the bell rang at 30:33! The view of the palace here was really amazing. The expanse of arches is just so impressive! Great final shot too. Hope you have a great week. Take care.
Hola de nuevo! How have these last two weeks been for you? I hope the weather has improved a little there. We have some pretty crazy weather here where we go from snow to heat in a few days. Thank you very much as always for dedicating your time to my tours. You weren't the only one to be surprised to see those peacocks 😄 also as you can see in the video it seems that they are totally free to leave the garden and walk around the town if they feel like it, I don't know if it ever crossed their minds. You're right, it would seem as if that peacock was her pet but those peacocks were so used to human beings that not only did they not move away when approaching them but they were the ones who came towards us. In fact, that peacock must have had model skills because when I arrived it was posing on top of a bench for other tourists 😝 You are right, they reside in that garden, I suppose garden workers are the ones who feed them and take care of them. Hahaha I've never had a garden like that but I think I understand you, it must be a pretty annoying job. I agree with you that waterfall is very beautiful, also its name is very curious to me, it is called the Castañuela waterfall (castañuelas is a traditional Spanish musical instrument similar to the decoration that that waterfall has but also the sound it emits is similar to the impact of water against rock) It is an original name! Regarding the sculptures, they are what I liked most about the garden, especially because they are related to Greek-Roman mythology. I don't consider myself an expert in it but I have always found it interesting and all the sculptures are of gods or classic heroes like Hercules who appears in several sculptures fighting with a lion and hydras, Venus, Apollo, Diana... It's a shame that the fountains were empty, I don't know when they put them into operation, perhaps because it was a weekday they are turned off. At least one church always appears on my tours, perhaps you doubted that it would be an exception? 😆 You are right, I think that there is no town in Spain, no matter how small it may be, that does not have a church. This one, as you say, is a little different because it is baroque in style (18th century), most Spanish churches are Romanesque or Gothic (ranging from the 11th to the 15th century). Yes, I think colonnade is the right word. Portico may also be correct. I think either word could fit that type of construction. I'm glad you liked that little walk through the colonnade 😉 When I passed by there before starting filming I saw the effect of the evening light in the hallway and I thought it couldn't be missing from the tour. Regarding the bell! Yes, I think I get that lucky from time to time 😄 Thank you!! I also hope you have a great week. Nos vemos. Take care!
@@WalkingSpain Pretty typical winter weather here. Cold, some snow, more cold. The usual. :) Very interesting about the sculptures relating to Greek mythology. I did notice the one of Hercules fighting with a lion, but it didn't dawn on me that it was related to mythology. Interesting too about the baroque style of the church. Honestly, I think I knew more about those architectural styles back when I took Western Civilization in high school and college, but that was a few years ago. 😀 It's quite funny because the first word that came to mind was portico! I've heard the term used many times referring to part of the White House in Washington, DC. I guess I should have trusted my first instinct. 😂 Take care.
At least you know what you expect regarding the weather, we don't know if in the next few days we will have to wear a t-shirt or a coat 😂 Portico is the word we usually use here to describe it (in fact, we use the same word, portico), as it is a very common element in many buildings here, we are sure to use it more frequently than you do 😄 Have a great week! Take care
