Thanks for the video. I searched online for the best way to wash these with the concern that soap residue could potentially be left behind affecting the coffee beans and your video is the only one I found that addresses this.
Great video thank you! I bought a couple of these - they are good but huge! Very wide around diameter. Much larger footprint than i could determine from online research. Will not fit on all shelves or other small areas in kitchen.
Silly question, is it not better just to keep the beans inside the original bag? Just put the beans back again and closed the bag properly... or is this not good at all?
That works as well. Especially with clamps which seal the bag airtight. But the bags tend to fall over (canisters don’t) and I feel it‘s easier to pour the beans oit of a canister than a bag. Plus the canister is perfect for people who do their own roasts and therefore don‘t have a bag that the coffee came with.
After a while the seals in the bags tend to not work as well also. You can squeeze the air out but after so much use they’ll eventually let air in which is why i like the cans more. Bought a couple from black rifle coffee and i adore them
I did the same thing accidentally with two of my 4 Airscape 64oz containers. None of the fixes that Planetary Designs suggested has worked. I have yet to try the duct tape solution they suggested, but I did try it with a less adhesive tape. Didn't work. I'm going to try to buy some quality duct tape (or stickier tape???) within the next few days and try with it.
drilling a hole in the lid will relieve the pressure and you should be able to work things out from there. you won't have an airscape level container, but you'll still have a normal level container.
I noticed the Made in China sticker on the bottom of my canister. I would buy more if you had chosen to have it made in the any of the many small machine shops operating in the US.
I don't think this guy makes them himself😂 Also, unless you're buying something extremely expensive like Snap-On tools, quality control for US made goods isn't very good anymore.

Can you give your opinion of coffee gator cannisters?
Coffee Gator seals in all the air left in the canister when you close it. Airspace lets you remove that air as you press down the inner lid.
I have both the Coffee Gator (x2) & the Airscape Ceramic (1/2 pound size). Prefer the Coffee Gator.

Why do I still smell the coffee beans after the lid is pushed down and handle locked down?
Anyone know if it’s okay to wash the inner lid? I know said can and outer lid, but nothing about inner
