      See man I feel like most of the negative reviews are coming from people that are just playing through the main story. They are just staying at the surface and never diving down into the depths of these game systems. The worst advice for new players is to tell them to beat the main story first.

      After finishing the main story I am glad I didn’t get too deep into base building. I do regret doing some of the side missions though because I’ll have to do them again now. I think the play after the main story is where the game is best.

    One thing to note, biomes are what determine which resources can spawn.
    Take Andraphon for example. This moon of Sumati in the Narion system has only two biomes: Mountains and Craters. The mountains biome contains Iron and only Iron. You can tell you're in the mountains biome on Andraphon by the white rocky terrain. The craters biome, meanwhile, contains everything else (Aluminum, Beryllium, Europium, and Helium-3). You can tell you're in the craters biome on Andraphon by the red rocky terrain. You can also tell what biome you'll land in when selecting a new landing zone, because it will say Mountains or Forest or whatever.
    More importantly, you can actually land near a biome boundary, where you can run along the boundary and try to find an outpost location that gives you access to multiple resources you otherwise wouldn't be able to get together! You can tell that you're landing near a boundary when you select a landing zone, and the slightest shift one pixel over will put you in a different biome.

      there is a planet which is actually much better as a starter base than androphon. that is bessel-3B it has a specific spot where 3 biomes converge. this grants you alu , iron , cobalt & nickel (+water) all in a single spot. in addition it also has a 1 to 57 UT conversion ratio, it has everything you would ever need from an outpost. only requirement to get started is some basic materials you can buy from the new atlanis store.

    the cargo link system in this game confuses me, because they already had a far less confusing and way more convinient version of it in fallout 4, where you assign a person to run supply lines giving you settlements/outposts a simple shared inventoryin starfield you need atleast 5incoming platform for any decent sised project you wish to build, wich cost you alot of workspace, the alternative beeing constand fasttravel with a cargoship.

    If you place the cargo link platform - inter-system on land that has helium and put down a helium extractor and link it to the liquid storage tank you then have linked to the liquid "storage" on the platform itself, will the platform fuel itself or do you have to manually dump helium into the liquid storage for it to work?

    PSA...I spent the last couple days troubleshooting a really aggravating issue where every 30 seconds or so, my FPS would drop from the mid 70s (11900K and RTX-4090 running the Steam version) down to the mid-30s for about a second, then jump back up to the 70s. It was really frustrating during firefights, and even walking around or panning while standing still would be terrible stuttering. I tried all of the Internet suggestions...older NVIDIA driver (nope), bumped the priority of Starfield.exe to high (nope), turned off all background Windows 11 tasks...nothing helped at all. I tried overclocking the CPU and GPU, but CPU usage was below 15% and even with everything set to Ultra (I'm running a 3840x1600 ultra-wide monitor at 144Hz), GPU percent usage was only in the mid-80s. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, turned off all mods...everything I could think of over the last two days. I've got over 600 hours on this gamesave, so I didn't want to scrap the save and start over (currently level 115 and haven't gone NG+ but finished the main and side quests. Then I read that someone had luck by deleting their cargo links. I have maxed out my skills and had all of my outposts built--many with 2 or 3 cargo links on them. So first, I went to each outpost and just deleted the link from the transfer container to the cargo link at every outpost. That didn't help. But when I went to every outpost and actually deleted every cargo link, the stuttering disappeared and the game is once again running smoothly. I can't imagine putting up to 6 cargo links on each outpost like the "Outpost Management" social skill now allows me, until whatever is bugged with cargo links gets fixed by Bethesda. I haven't started putting cargo links back on the outposts yet.

    By placing a Solid storage, joint to the other. Do I only have to link one of the to the production source, and both will fill regardless? As they're placed adjacent? Or do you have to "rightclick link" between and every storage?

    • @thephildiamond
      @thephildiamond Рік тому

      In my experience the storage tanks don't fill properly unless you create a clear path for the resource to flow through them. So I link all my extractors to the first storage container at the top of the stack and then link each container in order all the way down. I recommend trying different setups to see what works best for you.

      Yes because the transfer container can only store so much. It's great to use it to collect all the resources at your outpost, though, without having to run around your outpost. To maximize how much you're harvesting after a nice long sleep, just build several storage containers for each resource and output the last container for each to the transfer container.

      Yeah you can, I've found its generally better to link an extractor directly up to anything that needs helium because if you put it in a storage container then have that storage container output to multiple other things, it can end up not giving enough helium to whatever needs it. Hopefully in the future they'll add priority connections

      There's a bug where if an extractor gets full, it won't output its recourses even if the container its linked up with is empty. Try hooking up a few extractors to one gas storage, then that gas storage to the platform. Make sure the gas storage isn't outputting anywhere else.

    • @gidds617

      Good idea...it did occur to me to link multiple extractors out to the same storage container. What seemingly is working for me is extracting out to a single GAS container as oppossed to a LIQUID container. Drybear seemed to suggest using a liquid version and that tripped me up for a bit. But it probably just speaks to the bugginess if this system. But I must say it is satisfying to get a full supply chain system up and running and spitting out product.@@higgs7473
