- Most say Expensive guitars are a waste of money. But sometimes, if you are smart about it, you can have your cake and eat it too. This is the story of my PRS Private Stock Custom 24 8 String Mark Holcomb
very nice guitar! i can definitely admire and appreciate a well- crafted instrument and that's it right there - glad you're enjoying it 😊
It is an amazing guitar
Glad to see you still keep this guitar and like it
Thank you for the sale my friend
Crazy, I remember staring at Guitar Center listings for this (IDK if it was this one, but it was in this grey-black burst too) and seeing videos from Musicians Friend, WAY back in high school. Awesome to see where it ended up!
literally drooling for those PRS,
Always great content. Very well done and very informative.
Appreciate it. Thank you for watching
Another great video. I only buy numbered guitars now that I’ve got the standards out of the way. Never would have thought that 8 string PRS would have appreciated like that, that’s incredible. Makes total sense, it’s not just that it’s /8 it’s that PRS doesn’t do 8 strings much period. Double whammy. My 35th Dragon has appreciated about the same. Numbered only is the rule…otherwise do you really *need* it!? 😁
Dude! There's only somewhat like 8 Mark Holcomb 8 strings out there. I'd give a testicle and a toe for that deleciousness of a guitar..
yeah exactly. there are only 8
I have enough trouble playing 6 strings! lol good vid sir! :)
I never think about resale value of a guitar or buying a guitar as an investment. The only thing I consider is how much will I play it based on the look, comfort & sound of the guitar.
i used to buy like that. then i started liking so many guitars that i had to find some way to make it work
@@ministryofguitar I like fixing a problem on a guitar but, like you, I'm tired of fixing a budget guitar every 2 or 3 weeks, I'd rather play the guitar. I don't mind doing it for a student, I'd just prefer mine were more reliable.
Isn't the most expensive guitar ever sold the black strat?
You haven't made the money until you sell it! 😉 Seems unlikely you will any time soon. But you could say it saved you 10k, as you'd have likely spent the money later!
Very very true. It was my first thought actually. But the thing is. When you examine the nature of money, even what money you think of as secure, say cash in the bank, can also be fragile. I will talk about this in a future video using the collapse of the Japanese yen and what it meant for Japanese guitar collectors
@@ministryofguitar Oh man, now we are getting into the philosophy of money, I'll grant you a net-worth argument win. =)
I liked guitar culture more before it became a religion. Questing and clutching at guitars like pieces of the True Cross.
Have to agree. Even I am aware of how sometimes the instrument dominates over the music
Before the internet I had no idea that guitars were special. I just played any decent guitar and focused on the songs
You missed out the most important part............................ how many of the 15 are lefty?..... lol
sadly none my friend
@@ministryofguitar I know, I was being sarcastic, he won't even offer one of his "Strat copies" lefty :o)
great videos not
yeahhhh great
