RADIATORI PASTA AND GARLIC LONGANISA ❤️
Radiatori pasta was inspired by the Bugatti car's radiator grill and is a relatively new shape of pasta. Many people believe the pasta shape came to be during the 1960s. They are short, chunky pieces with ruffled edges that look very similar to a radiator. The ruffles help the pasta to hold more sauce since it gives the pasta more surface area for the sauce to absorb into. The ruffles help trap and hold sauce, too!
I saw this Radiatori Pasta using Italian Sausage. But Italian Sausage is so hard to find here, so I made a twist using our very own Filipino Sausage, the Longanisa. And this I can say turn our so good and yummy. My family loves it especially with a little spicy kick.

Ingredients:
For the Pasta:
1 (14.1 oz.) pkg. radiatori with tomato and basil pasta italian flavored pasta
1 tbsp. salt
Cooking oil
Water
For the Sauce:
1 (450 gms.) package garlic longanisa (Filipino Sausage), sliced
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/8 c. (2 tbsp.) butter
4 cloves garlic peeled and minced
1 pc. medium size onion, peeled and minced
1 (250 gms/8.8 ounces) pack tomato sauce
1 c. water filled in the empty tomato sauce pack
1/4 c. tomato paste
1 tsp. salt or to taste
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1/2 tsp. dried red pepper flakes or to taste
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
1/4 c. chopped fresh spring onions* for the sauce
1/4 c. Cheddar cheese for the sauce
2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
2 tbsp. chopped fresh spring onions* for garnish
*Notes:
- Fresh Parsley can be used instead of Fresh Spring Onions.
