    At 4:58 I let out a little sigh of relief... Phew, ok I'm not the only one trying to organize this size of collection. I had all of them in a giant tub for a while and it was rreeeally hard to look through. I ended up putting each color type in its own ziplock freezer bag and it helped a lot, making sure it was at least sorted by color like you did here. Thanks for sharing your storage space ideas with us :)

    I just inherited art supplies from my aunt. I gave tons to my oldest son in Oregon, total set of Prisma colored pencils to my 8 yr old grandson in Indiana and kept a set of Fabre-Castell polychromos colored pencils myself since I love my FaberCastell Aqua Karelle watercolor pencils. Ended up keeping her Daniel Smith watercolor tubes, so many tubes!! But not enough to fill a full drawer in my room. I’m anxious to try them out. No crafting until I have a redo of my room which is in progress. And I plan to declutter my space. I need to have a place for all the watercolor, Bristol and mixed media paper. Thank goodness I gave my son more than half of what I got from Aunt. I’m on a low buy until I use up some of these supplies.

      Oh I think I will make an art lover in my family very happy when I die lol! Sounds like she left you some awesome stuff that will make you and your son happy to create!

    I think the world has stopped to 'organize' their stuff... LOL... but I have a similar watercolor organization to yours with an Ikea drawer holding my beauties. (I had to reply your pronunciation of Ikea.. is that the proper way to say it? We have it all wrong here in the US.. saying 'eye-kee-ah' here)

    Great video. I’m always organizing. Kinda like nesting. Ha.
    Love the drawers and thinking this would work for me. Thanks for sharing.

    Great video. I love to see how other artists organize supplies. I have too many things and not enough room to store it all conveniently. I like Marie Kondo's method but it's so hard to get rid of art supplies- you never know when you will want to use something again. I am always switching from art journaling in several styles, to scrapbooking and to watercolor botanical painting. I think I might have almost as many watercolor pans and palettes as you do ;)

      Yes I totally agree. I'm the same, going back and forth with different crafts (well, mostly painting and scrapbooking). BUT I am certain I can get rid of many things (like paints in colors that I just don't like). And then when I have only the stuff I love and get me excited, I will hopefully figure out a way to store them all so the space works for me.

      @@iritlandgraf I have more paint than I can use in a lifetime!!! Acrylic and watercolor. And stamps and stencils, oh my! I hate getting rid of anything because I'm always afraid that a year from now I will go looking for it again for some new project. :)

    Ahh I was so surprised that I had same two drawer systems :D Sadly they are full of crafting paper and stamps. But you made it work for tubes.. Hmm, will two drawers be enough for my paints??! :D lol.. I'm crying already.. Maybe its better to leave it as it is. ps. Your tube shells looks really functional, Ill definitely borrow idea :D Thanks Init for sharing!

    Oh! You say Ikea differently from us in the US of A. Haha, you're probably saying it correctly. We pronounce it like 'eye-key-ah.' 🤔

    Where do you keep gelatos and watercolour pencils pls?

    • @iritlandgraf
      @iritlandgraf  5 років тому

      I don't have everything figured out in the best way. But I keep my most used pencils just above my desk, you can see them in the video, that part is working for me. I still need to figure out the gelato-like products. I don't use gelatos much, but I have similar pastels that I do use often.

      Lol, I think it was the only thing that was remotely interesting for me there, the rainbow was calling ;) I'm lazy though and don't like to rummage through hangers when it's not obvious what's on them...

    Was ich an den Alex Schränken nicht mag, ist der verschwendete Platz im hinteren Bereich der Schubladen...weil sie sich einfach nicht komplett ausziehen lassen. Das ist der Grund warum ich jetzt nach und nach auf Küchenschränke umst elle.

    i refuse to watch the woman on netflix seriously i don't need to feel worse about my mess lol , i am however thinking of doing a couple destashes maybe

    • @iritlandgraf

      Deborah, I have to tell you that I absolutely think you should. I have watched many similar shows but her philosophy really struck a cord with me. She doesn't guilt anyone into throwing away or keeping anything. Her process is super simple and I believe it works (time will tell as I am only starting) because it comes from within you. If you don't mind your mess, that's totally ok, life is too short. But, if like me, you feel frustrated and overwhelmed and that the mess is getting in the way of doing things, then I do recommend watching the show and buying her book. I am actually looking forward to going through my stuff, seeing what I have that makes me happy, and getting rid of the rest.
