My son got my PR4, which was my “all purpose” blade, but my needs changed as I progressed in hunting and bushcraft. I realized I needed a large camp knife, the Junglas, a skandi grind for carving, notching, and all around woods craft, the RB3, and a dedicated hunting knife, the AGK, which you were very integral in my decision making on my choice. Next knife will be the CR 2.5, for fish and small game, and light bushcraft work. I am on the same school of thought on choosing ESEE. These knives just make sense for whatever outdoor thing people do, and as a company, they nail it! and on top of it all…their customer support is outstanding! They (Shane Adams especially) really care and pour 110% into ESEE! Thx TCarp for all you do!
Buddy thank you! I’m learning as I grow in hunting ans bush crafting as well. I’m learning that there’s no one tool for the job. ESEE is just a no brainer for things.
I mean...I love the Izula, but I would never classify it as a survival knife, and *definitely not* a "one tool option" LOL, and it has nothing to do with striking a ferro rod (which it absolutely can do if you file/sand down the spine enough). *It's waay too small!* 😂 It's way too small to be classified as any of those things, obviously lol. It's an *EDC knife,* meant to accompany other, bigger knives, or stand alone for normal small every day tasks. It's weird to me that that would be up for debate lol. I mean, would I want to have it in a survival situation? Of course yes! *Any* knife is better than no knife. But if I'm simply categorizing knives, no...the Izula doesn't come anywhere close to being a "survival" or even funnier "one tool option" knife *LOL!!* Anywho..I don't do any hunting, so the other two don't really appeal to me, but I do love the Izula-II! It's been part of my EDC for years, and has taken the place of most folders I have. You oughtta check out the Laser Strike though! Since you like the JG5 so much, I bet you really like the LS!
I was going to say the same. If you want a survival knife based on your tastes in knives I’m betting you would def like the Laserstrike. I have the JG5 and AGK but regard my LS as a true survival tool. The JG5 is an awesome knife for field use but for me I wouldn’t stress test it with very harsh tasks. It’s an amazing slicer and great for game processing and food preparation in particular. I generally carry a belt knife with a multi-tool in the pack used mainly for utility/gear/fishing tasks. Having a larger folding saw of some sort is also handy to have but it all depends on what your priorities are, distance your going to traverse, and how much your willing to carry to get the job done.
@s.s.6812 I'm down to 4 total ESEE's. * Junglas * ESEE-6 * Laser Strike * Izula-II It would have just been 3, ideally, but I couldn't choose between the E6 & LS...so I chose them *both,* lol, but my wife kinda claimed my LS for herself haha, so it's kinda 3 actually haha

People are crazy. Lol. I have tried to file that top part down to no success
@@tcarp1616 I use my WorkSharp Ken Onion blade grinder attachment to put 90s on my ESEE's, works perfectly!
Great idea!
