I want to extend an olive branch for discussion. So, I’ve seen here and there complains about the screams being saturated or whatever. But, we both know, ST doesn’t do anything without intention. This song to me has a very strong feeling of desperation. The vocals, being almost drowned out by the instruments, raspy, and saturated, feels like Vessel’s making a cry of desperation, a plea falling on deaf ears. As if he’s begging to become one with Sleep, but he’s being ignored. He wants to be “swallowed whole” to become one with Sleep. I feel like there’s a power struggle between the two right now, especially in this album. These are just my thoughts on the song.
I agree that everything they do on a track is purposely done. They’re too masterclass level to ‘mess up’ vocals

Some people aren't happy if they can't pick and criticize.
ST hasn't made a bad song because of the intentionality of the production.

So happy to see this! I'm lucky because these midnight releases happen at 7pm here and after I got over the shock of a new ST song, this was the first place I checked for a reaction. I don't know how this band keeps outdoing themselves, but damn they're incredible. I've been listening to their early stuff on here lately since it's not on Spotify anymore(or maybe it's just my Spotify being shitty) and they've been at 100 since the very beginning. There was no learning curve for them or trying to figure out their sound, it's been the same since day 1, and I love how they've stayed true to who they are and what they want to put out into the world. It's a good thing that the album is being released on a Friday because I know I'm not getting anything productive done that weekend 😂Excited for another one tonight and your covers!

Read the lyrics with it, hits so much harder they are SICK!! These guys are genius, they reeled them in with such seductive songs and suddenly they're hitting them with this heavy insanity! Like if Cradle of Filth, Pantera and Depeche Mode all came back from the dead and started making music together! 🤯

Can’t wait for their next album “Sleep Token: This Time It’s Sexual”
I have to admit, it was not my favourite at first. Felt a little weird. But it kept "calling" me to listen again and again. Now I'm hooked. I understand it. Man, I never obsessed over music. They got me. I didn't know music can sound HUGE before :D I even hear a little Burzum at the end with the screams and the fade out.
Defo black metal/post hardcore. Rolo Tomassi mastered it but this one is raising the flag high now
I got to see the preview before the song dropped and couldn't accomplish anything else at work for the day.

I think I prefer it to The Summoning but it's only JUST. The Summoning is what sent them off the cliff in terms of listeners.

@@yilomina2047 I've seen vids of vessel screaming on summoning. I think he does the black metal ones and IV does the harsher louder ones.
People are noticing a lot of ‘extras’ in the background through this one now. I don’t have headphones to pick much out, but I can hear the chewing at the start 😮

Very Deftonesesque, obviously a huge influence on Vessel. The verse intro is almost exactly like Rosemary

@@MTNReacts It’s not the first time either, Gods sounds almost exactly like Goon Squad from Deftones, and Telomeres sounds like Sex Tape. As a long time Deftones fan I’m loving these new bands
I had the same reaction, some of these vocals don't sound like anything we've heard from Vessel before.
I've heard little bits in older tracks but not this forward.
Granite was not my type but these other four tracks are like the best crossover prog music I have heard since years.
Granite? Yeah that's a bit more mellow than these others.

I thought The Summoning might be the screamy track on this album but that's as ferocious as we've heard Vessel since Gods 🙂 only had a couple of listens so far. Sounds good but once I listen with earbuds I'll get it pinned down more 🙂
