A lot of people like to say that Spirit tracks if the lesser of the two but I feel that they're two sides of the same coin. Phantom hourglass rewarded your exploration with extra side quests. While in Spirit tracks, the side quests reward you with extra exploration. With phantom hourglass, you are lost exploring a strange new world, while in Spirit tracks you are uncovering a old world's lost secrets In phantom hourglass each region emphasizes what's sets the cultures apart, while in Spirit tracks it emphasizes what brings them all together. It's a real shame many Zelda fans sleep on these games. they're actually really great and compliment each other perfectly.

I completely agree! The remakes would look fantastic! Like if they updated the textures and what not. Like I can see how it could work on the switch. You can use the remotes or you can use your fingers, and it can be switched in a settings menu. But updated textures 🤤 They would ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!
Nintendo missed out on a huge opportunity with Spirit Tracks. They could've given the game a day/night cycle and used the slow part of _Full Steam Ahead!_ as the night theme.
The whistle sound really makes the finishing touches on this particular remix, especially since I think almost everyone who played this game would pull the whistle in time with the music. The smooth transition to the battle theme (which makes the normally kind of mediocre theme better) is also a great touch. This is a nice medley of my favorite Zelda game!
i was late to the zelda series, i was like 14 -15, it was my first zelda game, and boy what a game. I loved it so much, the beauty of it... Also I like trains

Believe you me, this one is worth playing It's very divisive (since people either love or hate the train) so you should give it a shot and see what you think! If you actually end up liking the train sections, you'll absolutely love this one.
Legitimately one of the best Realm Overworld remixes I’ve ever heard. I loved the surprise introduction of the combat theme, and the close out was phenomenal. I also loved the quiet chug in the background. Thank you for this.

With how large BotW's world is and how much bigger TotK's world became, it would make sense to have a line of track connecting the different lands and villages of Hyrule's peoples. Having a steam train to run on it would be even more fun. I wonder how hard that would be to mod into TotK? Could make some zonai-based engine and train car models to go with it

Albiet, if you know how to use them, they are amazing, but beyond that, the just appear functional, and thrown together, when its anything but. The flute... could probably use a bit of touching up on atleast though. Really the switch could do it. just without a constantly present map, and it might be a bit wide of a screen and might break some places. it would need to remaster the whole game and scale stuff due to new screen size. I dont think they will do that much for a remake because wheres the line of too much change? No one has a definitive agreeable answer so...

BEAUTIFUL. You can tell a lot of effort went into this. I love the use of vocals, too. It took me by surprise but it works. I imagine that's how Zelda's voice sounds. I can imagine her spirit sitting on top of the carriage like in the intro, singing that melody as it resounds across the country air.
@@linkhewitt36 I think what they mean is that since they are more to using the switch, and the DS utilized both of its screens, it would make it difficult to recreate on such a system. you need the touch screen mechanic as it is integral to the game play and you need to have constant surveillance on the map when driving the train lest you be jumpscared and totalled by the demon trains on the tracks.

You had me cry over this. It's so hard to find good Spirit tracks content and I somehow always missed this one. The shift from overworld to battle was incredible, the little voice bit in the end had me scream internally and it was just... magical. I got so emotional when the train slowed down in the ending and all. I love that game and I cannot thank you enough for this wonderful piece. Mind if I download it and add it to the few songs I keep on my phone? Unless you have a more 'legal' way to get it than using a third party downloader.
To be honest, just the mere _existence_ of this game punches a massive hole in the Zelda timeline. I mean, the Sheikah managed to contain a _miniature black hole_ in an arrow head, and yet they never re-discovered the steam engine. _HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY ARCEUSDANG SENSE?!?!_

Yup, the train engine goes out of its way to sync/resync to the music ( 137bpm I think it was? ) if any even like slowing down or encountering enemies happen. The train's speed was made to perfectly match that on full speed of 193 units per frame. I managed to disable the music for recording purposes and am still looking to find songs who's bpm match the train's engine.
@@Martyste strange thought: Couldnt any song technically match the engine, if the tempo of the music is at 137? Cant change tempo more than about 20 before (unless you actually have a group of people playing the song) it gets a bit too far and probably will pitchshift noticably if your altering a video. Playing in a different tempo... it may not sound good but it'll allways work

Glad you enjoyed it! I actually took the train chuffs from the game's intro sequence and just adjusted them until they looped and matched the song tempo. For the whistle, I cut it from the ending when you remain an engineer! Lotsa audio work for something so small, huh?
the one thing i hate about this game is the spirit train itself its hidieous just Like the sunset express, excess express and bullet bill express from mario games now if the train was pulled by a real locomotive like Southern pacific daylights or LNER A3's or better yet an AC-12 or P2 mikado then i would be happy
Why something so beefy? I think that the Spirit Train fit the art style perfectly. The Mikado is WAY too big, honestly I would love a BOTW style spirit tracks remake with bigger engines but it’s supposed to look toony. If anything the old Western American locomotives look 100% better than a Mikado.
