I had the laser surgery done when i was 18 years old with a short stricture. Had to use a catheter for almost 2 months which was an absolute nightmare to use, and even worse with erections. Every week for 2 months i would go in, and have a metal rod inserted into my urethra to dilate were the stricture was for 1h (local anesthetic gel was used). For 3 months i did this metal rod dilation. After 6 months i was already the same with a stricture, but fortunately it was less serious, as before, in some days i could not even pee and had to resort to the ER, where they would insert a catheter. This really affected me mentally and physically during my last teen years and even until today i suffer from this and im afraid it will lead to some serious illness. Seeing this video helped surely to understand that there are newer and better procedures to this condition.

Im sorry to hear that, im going through the pain now and just found out i have a blockage. My urologist is saying i should have it dialated but seeing that its not a permanent option is just not cool
@@edc120912 not only that. It can make everything much much worse. I had it dilated 2 times before and it got way worse afterwards. (To the point were it completely shut..)

A minimally invasive procedure with a high success rate and low recurrence rate. A much better option when compared with other current methods. A drug is used to prevent the reoccurrence of scar tissue within the urethra. 3 year studies are looking very promising.

I'm from europe so i don't know if this information is of any help to you. At the moment it only stays open cause i wear a place holder catheter (not going all into the bladder) in place 16h a day. And i also apply a very expensive anti scarring creme 2-3 times a day, in the hopes that it might help.. I'm considering to get the major surgery with buccal mucosa transplant.. but i don't have the strenght at the moment. I'm so drained and stressed from all the surgerys, infections etc. Etc. I was diagnosed with a stricture a few weeks ago (I'm disabled, spina bifida, and also have something called chiari malformation) my question is if left long enough can strictures cause pain, and weight and or muscle loss ?
What does it feel like to have one? I feel like I have everything the symptoms everywhere talks about but I’m going to get a cystoscopy to make sure. My main symptoms are stinging pain in the urethra, trouble and even testicular pain. I have no full understanding if it is or not but this is my best guess and I feel it makes allot of sense if this is it. Anyway, would really appreciate hearing what your symptoms are and how yow came to the knowledge you had it?..

I just this surgery and I’m recovering now. My catheter was taking off yesterday. I’m finally although it feels good while urinating once im getting to the end of the stream my bladder starts spasing and it hurts for a few seconds ? Is this normal ?
@@UsmanAli-ey6un I believe that procedure is more temporary, in my case i had a lot of scaring that if they did that there was a high chance of it growing back and having issues again. My case of scaring and collapse was severe. My surgeon recommended Urethroplasty, which they got some tissue from my mouth gums in the cheek area to replace the scaring with it. By the way the pain on my cheeks was very painful for like 2 weeks, worst then the urethra itself lol.

I'm 23 years old. Had left testicle removed at 18 due to torsion. Now I have an Urethral Stricture. Is it normal for this to happen, progressively over time as a result of testicular removal? This is all so overwhelming
If you had a catheter in place and it wasn't removed (or placed) carefully enough, it can cause injury wich results in stricture!! Definetly sue them if that's the case!!

Urethroplasty and need to wear the catheter for urethra to heal around 3 weeks to a month depending on recovery condition
