We have the 10 by 14 and it takes my husband and I 90 seconds to put up. A 10 by 20 is not made for 1 person, 2 min set up but it can be done w practice. The cardboard inside the bag shows its fresh out of the box for the first time. Our tent has held up from chilly Vermont Fall to Georgia swamps to birthday parties with the kiddos and still going strong Love it!
A piece of advice...from lots of personal experience....ALWAYS peg down an instant tent BEFORE trying to set it up. Helps a lot. Looks to be a worthy upgrade to my 1st gen Coleman Instant Tent.
I watched your video and bought the 10 person dark rest tent. It's a great tent. Soon I will upload a video on it. One thing that makes it great is no one knows if your in it or not.
We have this tent in a non dark version. Definitely practice set up and take down before you go adventuring. It’s easy but it takes a lot longer the first couple times.
Got this for a camping trip and no matter what I do the center poles keep collapsing and the buttons seemingly do nothing can I get some idea of what to do? Luckily scouts prepared me and I brought a backup tent but yeah please help
I don't think it says any where that one person can put this tent up in 2 minutes. I do believe it takes atleast 2 people, especially with the larger instant tents.
I was looking for something that was able to keep out dust due to wind (or rain) but without being able to close the upper ventilation panels it will also not keep out the drafts or blowing dust as well. I've come up totally empty handed on anything under $500 that is truly "all season". These tents all tend to rely on the rainfly to block sun, not just the rain, because all-mesh "ceilings" are the norm. It's really too bad for another reason, too, because if and when the rainfly is damaged - and for a lot of tents they can't be replaced even direct from the manufacturer - the tent is no longer usable. I'm really shocked at the lack of versatility not only in terms of blocking out the added light but trying to keep out the rain, dust or drafts that blow in under the rainfly. If I had to guess, it's because people will run heaters and end up with CO2 poisoning so these mesh ceilings that you can't completely closed off are protection not for the campers against the elements but the manufacturers against lawsuits.
Hey Jason, thank you for this video! Is it dark at night where nobody can see you changing clothes if you have a light inside? I care about that a lot. Does it have a power port for an extension cord?
Martin Portillo Blanco yes it's dark at night if you did have a light on I'd imagine they would only be able to see a silhouette. It does have an extension cord velcroed pocket
I care about that too. Just position a lantern on the floor semi blocked so you can see but arent casting shadows on the wall. I also take my divider wall cloth and clip it in one area to make a double tent wall layer to create a more private area to change etc. You can also tarp over all or half your tent and the grommets make it easy to tie down. (We take a luggable loo camp toilet with us too so a big tent allows you to create a "bathroom" area away from your sleeping area) no more walking into the woods or campground restroom at 3am when its 38*. Brrrr
We have a tent this big. You can fit 2 twins or 1 queen in each end with a little walking space but not much. We use the middle area for gear and shoes.
How is the tent in the heat? Does it attract it more? I am planning on purchasing but afraid it might be too hot in the summer months. Great review btw.
Jay, are you still happy with it after 3 yrs? Is the floor sealed to the sides all the way around (ie., snake proof)? Does it have floor vents, too? I assume you cannot completely close the ceiling vent (mesh), since I saw light coming through. Correct?
Leonard Lacroix very happy. Over taken great care of the tent and it's holding up great. You are correct the top mesh can't be closed, but if one were so inclined to fabric their own zippered coverings.
Always spray waterproof spray on your tent and rain cover at least a couple days before you go. Only have to do it once but a couple days to let it set is good.
elektrikman34 I've used it 3x so far it poured and blew 2x and only water that came in the tent was after it stopped raining and I opened the door the water that was beaded up came in
how does it hold up against the wind and rain? I heard ozark things are useless (from people who own coleman products) like their fabric rips off, not that durable, doesnt last 2 seasons, leaks water and so much more. i am planning to buy Ozark Trail 12-Person Instant Cabin Tent from walmart.
Jason Floriano that would be awesome if you made another video. I'm very interested in the 10 person version of the dark rest. It does seem fairly dark for a tent. Thanks for the reply

Had ours for 6 or 7 years and we usually camp in the mountains in off peak weather. Layer your clothes and use a tarp over it for weather protection.

Thanks for that too, I always do that last! Lol, makes sense. Happy blessed summer time to everyone! Stay safe out there 🙏🌹😍💜💙
That's so cool that you did that with the kids even if they didn't "help" all that much.

Appreciate the vid. Helping me a choose a tent for my next camping trip!
Nice, been looking for a video of this tent.
Thanks for the video. Just ordered this tent from Walmart. Can't wait to try it out.
Thanks for sharing!
"Omg it is not 2 minutes" I just died XD
Thanks for the vid, also the windows don't go down all the way because it gives you a pocket to roll the window cover into!
okay folks I have this tent and I promise you it isn't this hard to set up.
I have the 6 person size. I can put it up alone & I'm only 5' tall. My dog just watches as I work lol
Got this for a camping trip and no matter what I do the center poles keep collapsing and the buttons seemingly do nothing can I get some idea of what to do? Luckily scouts prepared me and I brought a backup tent but yeah please help
does water leak inside the tent?
Awesome tent!

Just bought one the other day
Some of the windows don’t close? Floor vents close? Looking for something to use in colder nights in Colorado.

Excellent content friend greetings 👍😃🙋♂️
My dark rest has a black liner , its pitch black during the day. I have a 10x20
absorbs heat?
Does it have AC door??
Great looking tent but if its intended for large families it should have doors on each end of the tent also
At 1:39 he prays for guidance.
I love how my son "helps". Luckily I love him. Lol.
I wish they still sold this one!!!

How many twin air mattresses would fit do you think? How was it in rain?
It can fit 3 queen size mattress. I'm not sure about twin sized.
We have a tent this big. You can fit 2 twins or 1 queen in each end with a little walking space but not much. We use the middle area for gear and shoes.
Might be a different one. That one is nice! Hope mine looks like that.
How well insulated is it?
The issue with those plastic windows in the rainfly is when the sun beats on them it Cooks the tent
Can you measure the moon shape air vent winDow (think that’s what you call it) under window on the end.
Candice Murray I'll have to get the tent out again. possibly this weekend
The cold air intake vent on the bottom/side of the tent wall, how is it constructed? Zippered screen?
It's a screened flap its Not zippered. We're going camping next month. Maybe I'll take another video of the tent.
Dark tent????
Isn't it 18x10? That's what mine was.
How is the tent in the heat? Does it attract it more? I am planning on purchasing but afraid it might be too hot in the summer months. Great review btw.
melissa martinez darker colors to attract heat more but it has plenty of ventilation when everything is opened up

@@offr0adrangerguy Thanks, Jay!
@@offr0adrangerguy Jay, I just read that it doesn't have a tub style floor. Is the floor sealed to the sides all the way around?
When you use it let us know if it is waterproof
Always spray waterproof spray on your tent and rain cover at least a couple days before you go. Only have to do it once but a couple days to let it set is good.
I wonder if it would have taken 15 minutes if it wasn't a windy day?
David Powell this was my first time setting this up. I attribute the time to the wind, not staking down the bottom first, and being by myself
Is it as easy to take down as it is to set up
Jeremy Ray it's even easier to take down and put away than it is to set up
How many twin mattress can u fit in the tent ⛺️
Bruhitjust Matt it will fit 3 queens, 1 in each room
Have you used in rain yet? How is floor material?
elektrikman34 I've used it 3x so far it poured and blew 2x and only water that came in the tent was after it stopped raining and I opened the door the water that was beaded up came in
Cool tent! How much was it?
SusiCue 1333 I purchased from Walmart dot com
This is Ryley F. AsAMMMMMMe
Do you think it is possible to put a ac unit in the lower vents
bryan shrake not without some Macgyver-ing the lower vents are pretty small. I just uploaded a second video that shows these better.

The site says 2min for 2people hahahahahahahahahaha!! Thanks for the vid great job 🙌🏽
Ummm why would you expect 2 min… get a mini tent duh
That seems like too many seams/zippers.... Think I'm gonna pass on this one
Does it have dividers, split the area in two, three?
Matt Sharpe it has 2 dividers to split the tent into 3 rooms. Maybe I'll make another video showing off those dividers.
Jason Floriano that would be awesome if you made another video. I'm very interested in the 10 person version of the dark rest. It does seem fairly dark for a tent. Thanks for the reply
Did you end up getting that?
