I had a 1970 imperial lebaron,440 that moved that thing pretty good and they handled pretty good for a big boat. IT got nailed in the rear, and I still have the engine.
DAMN! If it got hit in the rear hard enough for that 440 to fly out, i fully understand y u got rid of the rest of that car.. back bumper must’ve been up against the backside of firewall! (Just joking, hopefully obviously). Seriously tho, does suck it got messed up. Any vehicle plans for that 440? I’m not super stoked on that trim/bolster color scheme in this ‘75 Leberon shown in vid but, one just like it would be super nice to own, as I was born in ‘75
I owned a '71 Oldsmobile Tornado. Front-wheel drive under a 455. Cruise control. Front bench seat that could adjust electrically. At 60mph felt like you were on a cloud driving down the road. Ahhhhh.....the memories!
Always loved this brand! I was just too young to buy one and as I got older other needs kept me from buying a car so nice. They are some of my fondest memories of the “older” cars!
I always liked the 1962 Imperial, the Detached appearance of the headlights, and the same for the taillights, and they could have a very plush interior as well, just beautiful overall cars.👍👌
It's a beautiful automobile. I would drive it every day if i could. I was 14 in 1975 and my neighbor had just gotten a 1975 Burgundy Chrysler New Yorker. It had the same type of interior except it was burgundy. Hold on to that beautiful Imperial, buddy.
I once had a '72 Chrysler when I lived near Chicago. It was not quite this big but it was an adventure on narrow 2 way streets and parallel parking was...problematic.
In 75 the Indiana State Police drove Newports, the Dodge 4 door version of that car. 76 they drove Monacos. Movie 'Breaking Away', first scene you can see one.
I had a friend in high school and his dad bought a new car so he gave my friend his old car,I swear it was the very same that’s on this clip. Every time we’d go to a concert in the closest city we didn’t have to worry about finding a motel because we were driving around in a 5 star motel room on wheels.
When l was a HS senior l dated the daughter of the local CPD dealer and a few times she brought 75 triple black lmperial, the thing had it's own zip code it was so big. I had an MGB which l loved but not much room inside. The huge Imp was like a hotel room on wheels
@frankgiaquinto1571 just as sad is our continued thirst for aircraft carrier size vehicles. And they bitch about the price of gas??!! My God, the size of a "full size" American pick up truck is bigger than my old man's 1960 Ford Sunliner 64 years later... And that's just p.u. trucks, never mind the continued growth in size of EVERY make of SUV. Well...I could go on but what the hell...🤷
Chrysler was always cutting edge they pushes ideas out fast but never worked out the bugs..... Few people know the first front wheel drive was a mopar.
It's beautiful. Just AWFUL on gas, though. If everyone drove cars like that, there wouldn't be any petroleum in the ground, by now!😆 Actually MPG= 8-15
Don't forget the stupid today's standard 4 wheel disc brakes. And you thought your Camry was special because it gained 4 wheel disc brakes 15 years ago, lol
MY GRANDMOTHER DROVE ONE OF THESE😂😂😂😂😂 IT'S A BIG OLD BOAT..LOL GREAT CAR..BUT...ONLY FOR GRANDMA... GRANDPA...AND RETIREES ON SOCIAL SECURITY 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That interior looks so comfortable. Reminds me of my old Fleetwood and Park Avenue.
Miss my park ave some days. So comfy and spacious
Big luxury land yacht of the '70s?? Yes please!😁
Haven't seen your videos in a minute glad it popped back up in my recommended
Problem with the later Imperials, they were too much like a Chrysler, the same thing that killed DeSoto
Those last few years, the Imperial was over the top plush, like a rolling New Orleans bordello.
Love 'em 👍🏁
My dad has a 78 new Yorker 2 Door 440 with 38 thousand miles.
They are nice riding cars..
I remember the imperial......
If I win the lottery 57 imperial Southampton
Now thats a car. Gorgeous❤
Love those seats, only problem be staying awake while driving

I own a 1964 Imperial Crown Coupe!
🤔Sorry to hear that....My Condolences 😱
The body on frame construction of pre 1967 Imperials was so strong that many race tracks banned them from demolition derby's back in the day.
I bet that car you have is absolutely gorgeous!! And a great Elwood Engel designed Imperial.
looks like they were fighting Lincon in stead
I have a 59 imperial crown that was my mom's first car that I am currently saving.
They were beautiful and drove beautifully, were nice as any ultra luxury auto
"I am the liquor" - Jim Lahey
Sober enough to know what I'm doing but drunk enough to truly enjoy doing it
Imperial’s lived on as Derby cars, & those front bumpers are sought after enough, that they offer a fabricated bumper that’s similar.
That is really sad
spot on assessment.

My buddy had an imperial back in the 80’s, I never realized it was it’s own brand. I’d love to have that
I had a 77 Chrysler Newport in the 80s... Super comfortable ride, 400 MoPar big block, it was a great Yacht!
A couch on wheels, those seats look so comfortable.
Always loved this brand! I was just too young to buy one and as I got older other needs kept me from buying a car so nice. They are some of my fondest memories of the “older” cars!

Looks great, really comfortable.
Absolutely stunning Imperial
Use to have alot of fun in the backseat. Great for going to drive-in. You can pack at least 6 in the trunk.
Imperial probably top of the list if you want a good demolition car
My dad had one it was blue
Looks like a 1970's Law office on the inside.
i am DIGGIN' that green leather. Perfect for a leprechaun. but put blocks on them pedals so he can reach em

I’ve been trying to get a imperial for years, just can’t find one affordable enough
I always thought that imperial should have got more perspect, their comfort is bar none. That's a beautiful car😊
Wow, what a beauty, reminds me of the 80's when you could pick this up for a couple of grand😮
Ricardo Montiblan for Chrysler Cordoba.
i had a 1971 Imperial 440 auto 4 door. man, I miss the ride quality. but not the gas mileage! unforgettable car, in a good way!!!
In 75 the Indiana State Police drove Newports, the Dodge 4 door version of that car. 76 they drove Monacos. Movie 'Breaking Away', first scene you can see one.

Look at those couches. It's movie night, sit back and relax.
Welcome back dude with wrenches
Certainly would like to buy something like that.
They made awesome crash derby cars!
I don't like leather seats, but I'd still drive it
Serious quality control issues. The torsion bars were great for handling. They just were not that plush. People often choose plush over safety.
Looks like a Lincoln nose with an Oldsmobile grill on a Cordoba.😂
What a nice looking car
I like classic cars 🚗 ❤😊
Nothing like 103 when the world evens out
She's beautiful!
These were built when they knew how to build thing right!
Have a 74
And a 67 chrysler imperial.
I owned a 76 New Yorker, what a beast.
67 imperial is best demolition derby car ever made. They take a beating and keep moving forward
The name ' Imperial ' says it all
beautiful car
Has a Cutlass grill but over all looks like the car on Hawaii five o 😅
You can find same year New Yorkers! Very close to the same car.
Those seats!!
IT WAS A MAGNIFICENT CAR
do a thunderbird next
At least the tow bar will come in handy stuffing the caravan away.
Bad management. A benchmark for the U.S. car companies of era.
Sadly, you are 100% correct about poor management of the American auto industry..
@frankgiaquinto1571

OMG I haven't seen one of these in 30 years!
Looks more like A Lincoln in the front.
This car would be amazing with a new school Hemi in it
Sick lines
Management, ugh. Will get cha every time.
Old-school is different style of work. Looks really cool 😎. The color is luxurious.
Looks like a Lincoln and a Cadillac had a good time 9 months later this happened 😮
LOVE IT!!
I’d cruise it
Imperial died as a separate brand from Chrysler.
Thats a Chrysler Imperial lol
Dad had a 75 New Yorker that was 440 powered and road like a dream
What a beauty
Giiidamn that's nice
Looks like a continental in the front
Seats look comfortable
Nice
So gorgeous
My dad had one took one to my senior prom need I sat more
Chrysler was always cutting edge they pushes ideas out fast but never worked out the bugs..... Few people know the first front wheel drive was a mopar.
There was a k car based imperial
Looks like Jim layheys and Randy's car
Looks like an Oldsmobile with that grill
🤔Poor mans Cadillac El Dorado😱😄🥳😄🇺🇲
It's beautiful. Just AWFUL on gas, though. If everyone drove cars like that, there wouldn't be any petroleum in the ground, by now!😆 Actually MPG= 8-15
👍🙏🙏
Riki's car/ house
ROAD TRIP???????
Too bad they don't make real cars like that anymore
This car looks so much like a 77 Thunderbird
If anything, the front-end could resemble a Lincoln. No resemblance to a Thunderbird
@@Kevin.W. Ford and Lincoln are sisters companies that put out product, except for badging, that was nearly identical to one another.
@bawintermage8351 A Galaxie looked nothing like a Lincoln, anymore than an Impala looked like a Cadillac
Imperial was a model not a brand the brand was Chrysler so dudes with wrenches always makes mistakes like this
Torsion bars are Bad
Don't forget the stupid today's standard 4 wheel disc brakes. And you thought your Camry was special because it gained 4 wheel disc brakes 15 years ago, lol
AND WHY ARE THESE CARS ALWAYS GREEN???
Green cars never die
Now this Green Technology that I can live with
MY GRANDMOTHER DROVE ONE OF THESE😂😂😂😂😂 IT'S A BIG OLD BOAT..LOL
GREAT CAR..BUT...ONLY FOR GRANDMA... GRANDPA...AND RETIREES ON SOCIAL SECURITY 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
1970 was better.
