What a great course, would have loved to go there if I hadn't chose aviation 50 years ago from which I just retired. I worked midnights and weekends and holidays for most of my career but automotive technology does not have to do all those things and the pay is almost as good and no layoffs every 8 to 10 years. I strongly encourage young people to choose this career path, it's a smoother road and we all like a smooth ride!
I’m over here at wiu studying law. Im deciding whether I should transfer & try this but I jus know my credits are going to be fucked up & it’s gon be a big setback
We might use the term professor differently. At SIU, faculty are typically hired as assistant professors. When they get tenure, they are promoted to associate professor. Then after a while they can attempt to be promoted to full professor. The faculty typically are required to hold at least one degree above the program they teach in. Since automotive Technology is a bachelor’s degree, the tenure-track faculty need at least a master’s degree.
My opinion is that this program is a waste of time and money. You are paying for something you can learn in the field or teach yourself. This is equivalent to a liberal art degree useless
