Amazing . Can't wait to get back to the beach to give it a go. Thanks for the inspiration
No probs thanks for watching
Great shots again Brett. I find the best time is just as the sun goes down and illuminates the clouds plus 15 min or so after. Love sunrise also, if I can get up. Lol! Hope you enjoyed your cold beer mate. Well deserved!
Gary thanks for watching mate.
Much appreciated.
Yes I’m the same I do like that blue hour light .
Tried your shutter priority technique on capturing waves and was rewarded with a terrific shot of two gulls flying across the face of a cresting wave. so cool. thnx Brett.
Ahhhhh mate, that’s good to hear 🤓
I truly enjoyed this clip. Love the laid-back, very Australian delivery. But that said the content was very useful and valuable. i really like the IQ of the Canon as well. I also liked the (abstract) waves and the richness of the colours. I hope to head down that way in a few months and will try out the technique. It was terrific that you mentioned details that I might not have otherwise noticed like the setting sun shining on the wave tops. I love capturing the complex movements of the water too. It seems that particular location is one that presents much variety to those who are keen enough to look. Favourites: the first two at the end, the same ones you said you liked.
Thanks for commenting mate,
Glad that you enjoyed the video & found some value in it 🤓
Thank you for this. Just moved to a coastal location and this is just what I needed
Cheers Andrew glad you enjoyed it mate
Great images Brett. Agree about the first two, my favourites as well.
Wayne thanks again for your viewership mate, yep I took a shine to those two images 🤓
wow the end image is speccy! 17.20
The first 3 are my favourites, Brett. Another great video and thanks for sharing your time and tips.
3 weeks ago my partner and I went up to visit rellies at Burrill Lake and we came back to Portland via the coast. Your images inspired me to take some with my 8x10 large format film camera. I will be coming back to take more at Horsehead Rock and Camel Rock at Bermagui. Thanks for the inspiration.
Michael thanks for that mate.
Glad I’ve inspired you.
I’d love to see your finished pics.
LOVE your wave photos!
Another great video, those wave shots are pretty cool especially the ones with that bit of sunlight on them. It would be great if you could put your camera settings on your images as this would be very helpful. Guess I will have to wait until we go to the coast to have a go at wave shots, the old Town Creek just don’t cut it!🤣🤣
Thanks Tracy 🤓
Yeah a few people have asked about shooting specs so I’ll add that in the future. Not sure you’ll get waves 🌊 on the creek 🤣
Goodonya for having a go.
Cheers Andy
Great shots Brett! A nice relaxing session of shooting. Enjoy the cold beer mate!
Alan thanks a lot mate, glad you liked the video
So many beautiful images mate! Cool and relaxing video, I’m still trying to get decent waves shots, I need to get out with my camera again.
Thanks mate, yeah get out there & try it! Waves are super fun to shoot, just start with shutter priority at 1/4sec
Thanks for the video, Brett, and perfect timing. My camera club subject for June is "water". Had a go at the waves on the weekend with average results, but I'm v keen to give it another go.
My personal preference was the first of the waves. The green is soothing and it has lovely texture. Thanks
Thanks Alan, yeah I like that photo too mate. 🤓
Hey Brett, interesting result with the 1/4 shutter on the wave shots. Looks to have a little camera shake/ soft focus that adds a magical dimension and `outside the square'
Terry thanks mate, yeah I love the effect.
Another great video Brett love these videos very interesting and loved all the shots ❤️
@@aliriley554 thanks a lot Ali
Have to agree with you, love the first shots in your end of video review. I do like the texture in the water too as it swirls around the rocks too. 🙂🙂
Thanks for watching & commenting Nicoline 🤓
Thanks for taking us along on the beautiful evening. Great shots!
Juanita, thanks for watching
I LOOOOOOVE the slow motion waves
The second image at the end was incredible! But so many good ones it was hard to choose. I can’t wait to get back to some coastal landscapes to try getting more seascapes and master that wave photography technique.
Thanks a lot Chris, yeah waves are so therapeutic
All great images, as always. I love the wave shots. Something to try for myself. Thanks
Thanks a lot Mark, I’ll try to do a video on waves in the future.
Beautiful pics again Brett! Would there be a chance you could do a photoshop tutorial on how you edited these that would be available to purchase?
Thanks a lot Kerry.
I do plan to do more editing tutorials in the future & probably even a wave workshop. Getting the time will be the challenge.
Love all your wave shots 🌊
Thanks kid 👋🏼
That wave shot around the 10min mark was just gorgeous, and yes, that last vertical. Probably the first time I've not watched your live premiere - better late than never lol
I think Al missed you at the premiere Sam 🤓. Thanks for catching up on the video, yeah that wave shot is a good one.
Hi Brett , great instructional , could you lable the images with shooting data so we can learn which shutter speeds etc work for diffarent effects, thanks john
Hi John thanks for commenting, yes I’ve been wondering about adding the shooting settings. Thanks for the feedback
Hi Brett, nice video again, loved the motion in your wave images & loved the colours in the last few images
Gday Terry, thanks mate !
I've watched a few videos of photographers shooting waves, but yours were stunning, especially the first in the final set. 👍 Would be great to see your settings.
Thanks Peter, all my waves in this video were 1/4 sec I’ll post some settings in the future
Loved your wave shots and the last portrait landscape. I know a lot of landscape photographers don't like ICM, but I have no such objections. Looks like you were panning very slightly when you took some of the wave shots and the effect enhances the feeling of movement and abstraction provided by a slower shutter speed.
Hi Dane thanks for watching mate, yes very slight panning but it’s mainly about the slower shutter speed. I just shoot what I like really & don’t take much notice of anything else 🤓
Hi Brett, another great video and some instructional tips - if people want to try seascapes including waves which locations would you recommend? Cheers Colin W 👍
Gday Colin, thanks mate.
All depends where you live I guess.
I live on the south coast of NSW so anywhere on the south coast is great.
@@BrettWoodPhoto Live in Norwest near Castle Hill so somewhere about 2 -2.5 hour drive would to a nice south coast location would be good Cheers Colin W👆
@@colinwright8651 I really don’t know the Sydney beaches very well so not too sure. Other Wollongong / Kiama way might work for you.
@@BrettWoodPhoto Thanks Brett I'll have a look around those aeas.
Kia ora
Cheers Ed
