I like the living in the present part. I am 66 and working on decluttering and purging un needed things to get ready for a 1300 mile move this year. Sometimes it is really difficult to let things go that have been in my family for over a 100 years but yet I have no interest in the style or the item just isnt useful to me. I know in this day and age people hold onto far too many things, hence the full garages and storage units all over the country. My uncle who happens to be one I inherited most of this stuff from used to say " People put their junk into their garage and park their $40,000 vehicles in the driveway." I will be watching for more of your videos on these things as well as other issues. Thanks
Preparing for a move is a huge undertaking! And it will certainly require lots of reflection and decision making... I agree that keeping things out of a sense of obligation is unnecessary and it's better to release them 'into the wild' for others to enjoy or make use of. I've been very fortunate to inherit many things handed down through the generations, including furniture hand made by my great grandfather... but I've also said "no thank you" to many things that have been offered to me and have no qualms about letting things go (appropriately) if they become burdensome. I also feel that in this day and age the messaging around decluttering/consuming has gotten really off track and that there IS a middle road... a more balanced way to exist with things in a way that makes our lives better without requiring either bare bones minimalism or extreme stuff overwhelm! I'll be starting this conversation in an upcoming video. Thank you so much for commenting and for the feedback! ♥️ (sorry for the long reply 😂)
I think your idea of doing a variety of content is good. Variety keeps a channel fresh, even if it is similar content. Just mixing it up with face to face "discussions" to more cinematic videos that take people away to a less stressful place for a few minutes to homemaking/ homesteading and especially pet related content will keep it interesting. Thats just my take on it. I think the key is to not burn out trying to please your audience. I have seen so many content creators say that all of their hobbies became monetized and it basically took all the joy out of them. Like you said, just relax and enjoy it!
Thank you so much for the input, and I totally agree about variety! Keeps it interesting for you and for me, flexibility is so important! Just have to try to keep the UA-cam algorithm happy at the same time haha ♥️ The fur babies are guaranteed to make many future appearances!! 🐈🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ 🐕
I'm a perfectionist as well when it comes to my painting. I found this quote and it spoke to me: "I'm a recovering perfectionist and an aspiring "good-enoughist." -Brene Brown. I absolutely support you in your journey. Can't wait to see what you have planned for 2024.
Aspiring good-enoughist is such a great way of putting it! Thanks for sharing that. What kind of painting do you do? That's one creative talent that skipped right over me!
@@wrenhavenhouseandgarden It's my pleasure. I've always loved art but didn't start painting until I was almost 70. I paint for my enjoyment and love doing portraits, still life's and landscapes. It's so rewarding to create.

Wow that sounds lovely! I think it's such a different and important experience to start a hobby as an adult!
