enjoyed this video-lots of great garden idea (and exterior home design/paint). The white perennial (at 5:30 in the tape) is Platycodon grandifloris - balloon flower. also comes in a medium blue. Monrovia has a cutivar "Twinkle"-shorter, about 6 inches.
Thank you so much for taking us along! I’ve had a smile on my face the whole video. Wow, the imagination and eye for color and texture those gardeners have is amazing. Wish they were my neighbors!
You're so welcome! I'm delighted you enjoyed it, I'm amazed anew every year at how clever and imaginative and talented all the different gardeners are, and how they all approach things so differently! Great neighborhoods and a wonderful tradition
Of all the Buffalo garden tours I have watched.. this was the most enjoyable. Your narration and slow panning of each area, made me feel like I was walking through with you. I love all the ways people utilize their spaces. Loved the yellow door garden! Every garden looked so lush and green. We have had triple digits days here in California , making it a challenge to keep things green and thriving. Thanks s much for all the inspiration.
Very beautiful. Great job of filming. I kind of wish the wording did not cover the whole screen as it made it hard to see the gardens. But it was still a joy to watch.
@ 6:22. The common name of that particular hosta is August Lily. The blooms are a feast for the senses. In addition to the large waxy blossoms, their fragrance is heavenly.
THANK YOU so much!! I'm thrilled to learn what this Hosta is called, it was so beautiful! I'm putting in a Hydrangea shade garden that will also have lots of Hostas in it and I'll make a point of searching out this variety now that I know what to look for! Thank you again for commenting, this made my day!
I agree, I would have loved to have been able to get bigger/wider shots! Unfortunately it was very very crowded even though we were there early right when it started, and I was also trying not to ruin other people's experience. Since this was my first time capturing this kind of tour I learned a lot, hopefully I can improve with the next one! Thanks for taking the time to comment and I'm glad you enjoyed anyway
ohhh thank you so much for letting me know! I thought it was a little big for campanula, that makes a lot more sense! Appreciate you taking the time to comment!
Are you kidding You've never seen a flower on a hosta? You must be pretty young. I do the same thing to most of my hostas though. I cut the flower off before they start leafing out. I like the foliage but I also leave a few flowers because the pollinators love them
Haha we actually said we've never seen a Hosta flower we LIKE! They're usually kinda goofy looking in our opinion, but these were particularly pretty, and to me they looked almost like a little lily! Thanks for commenting!
maybe its just me, but this video made me motion sick. I loved the plants, but it needed to be a little slower and not so close.! It would be better to get a broad area then close up I couldnt see the garden as a whole. But it was beautiful. I only say this because we need to enjoy this garden.
I'm sorry it didn't work for you, it's hard to communicate through a few minutes of footage how unbelievably crowded most of this was, and I was trying to not ruin the experience for the others who were there. Which meant lots of small clips I had to string together. And unfortunately backed up/wider views were just impossible. This was also my first time making a video like this so I was definitely flying by the seat of my pants as they say! Thanks for your suggestions.

I appreciate the plant ID assistance! It's so pretty, I'll need to look into it further for my cottage garden! Glad you enjoyed the video
I loved the gardens but also the pretty shutters and Paint colors Thanks for sharing
There were some great color choices! You're welcome, thank you so much for watching!

I would have liked to have seen more 'overall' shots of the gardens though

The plant with white flowers at about 6 minutes in is a balloon flower. They come in a blue color too, which I have.

@@wrenhavenhouseandgarden you’re welcome! I can see that there was an error in my spelling- it’s a balloon flower.
