That Mahindra + the Tamper make a huge difference. Even if everything can be done with shovel & wheel barrow, when bigger than a loop around the house, if you want to enjoy it in your lifetime...
Well, this is the Stoddard Hill Farm Railway. We still lack the convenience of a tractor on the MLBK. Not that I'm not looking for one, but I do have some financial matters to tend to first. Retiring the debt brought on by the Ossipee Central acquisition and the purchase of new rail being at the top of that list.
that makes compression of the stones easy! more stable, the less issues with the track! great job, the correct tools make such a big difference getting things done.
SHFR mow crew going well in this video bro with the help of 3 crew, 1 tractor, 1 plate compactor and 1 rake, great job done by all too. Safe travels. Ken.
Orange and black, Milwaukee Road freight colors. Years ago along the U.P. main in Nebraska they put down geocarpet, a thick coating of black top, ballast and finally concrete ties. I get used papermachine felts from the mill where I work and use them as geocarpet under my driveway after first using a walk behind compactor like the one you're using. Great roadbed tute, liked it much!
Whlie the plate compactor seems to be making a difference it is NO replacement for the MBRR side step hokey pokey....I think you need to finish off.any MOW with a ceremonial two-step.😂
The job of the geotextile is not merely to spread out the weight of the ballast and track, but to provide drainage while it's doing it. Plastic sheet doesn't allow for drainage. The three most important things in railway track construction are drainage, drainage, and drainage.
Sorry to bother you but do you know what the cars for carrying ballast are called? I want to get into trains and I saw your video about building and laying tracks but I can’t seem to find them. They look cool and I kinda want to give them a try, in the future.
Love the video of this but I have a question;;. I would please ask you the. EXTRACT address for where you are; 25 hours does not compute with me; or how you had the idea of that I Still would love to see everything that you do; please let me know soon
The Jitterbug is a mean machine, and its doing its job, beyond expectations
It is doing well.
THANK YOU for sharing 👍

Jitterbug, the mini zamboni!😂
Lol!
Zamboni? What does that mean? Cory Mears
@@katherinemorey6517 A Zamboni is a tractor-like machine that smooths the surface of the ice in a hockey (or ice skating) rink.
The Jitterbug really shines on rock ballast. I bet it really speeds up roadbed work quite a bit.
It does a respectable job.
It might be an idea to use hearing protection?
That's a great idea. Cory Mears

You mean 1 "jitterbug"
I guess that is what I was referring to. They have jitterbug as an affectionate name.
Sunday morning and I'm watching three guys get stoned. 😵💫
That's hilarious! I love your joke! Cory Mears

The Gandy dance is for after the track is in.
Hey Aaron, you mentioned that the Geotex fabric was not made to prevent plant growth. So would a layer of black plastic make a difference??

How close is the Stoddard Hill Farm railway to your Mill Brook railway, mileagewise? JDM (not Linda)
50 miles

Bantamodelworks.com and Millbrookrailroad.com. They are both in Vermont and more than an hour apart (50 miles).
That grade really needs fixed. It’s always difficult for engine to pull that hill
Very true.
