I am astounded by the enduring voice on this guy, it is unbelievable. Respect.
Not trying to promote str8edge by saying this, but the near-preservation of his vocals has gotta be from being drug free for all these *decades (assuming Choke has remained steadfast with being abstinent).

I just saw SLAPSHOT live in LA last night maybe the best hardcore act I've seen . Definitely go if you have the opportunity.
Was at the SD gig.
I saw them in 1994 in Vänersborg, Café Eloge, Sweden with IGNITE from Boston. I recorded it & I still got it. Awesome as always
Got to love choke's unwavering old school 80s era in your face hardcore music and live performances especially he without a doubt is the grandfather of hardcore around Boston remember many days going to see them live at the ratskeller paradise etc
And I still will be listening to them in other hardcore bands until I'm in my late 90s on my deathbed it'll be hardcore you'll hear me listening to!!
When I was 17 I was getting drunk listening to Stars & Stripes and went on a graffiti binge too close to my house. I woke up hungover to kids banging on my window cuz my younger neighbor had the same color spray paint (florescent green) on his ramp and the detectives (not regular police) were putting the screws to him pretty bad trying to get a story out of him. I walked over and said that isn't who you're looking for and they agreed and we all went back to my house. I made coffee and we sat around and talked about my involvement in the local "skinhead gang" while they took pictures of my room.
This was the first thing that came to mind after seeing Choke in this video.
The mixing and sound is amazing sounds just like it’s supposed to.

I was at this, I’ve seen slapshot a good 7 or 8 times between 90 and this show (2015) but never really liked them. Easily one of the most overrated bands in hardcore and punk in general.
