Wine & Weeds🍸🌿 IN PERSON from Longwood

- It's our first IN PERSON episode of Wine and Weeds! Laura from @HowsItGrowing and I met up at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania to talk about the weeds that are vexing us this year and what we loved in this famous public garden. Things may or may not have gotten a little silly at one point (you might want to stay until the end).
This is Wine & Weeds, the semi-regular series where, together with my gardening friends (and in particular Laura from How's it Growing), we feel better about managing our weeds by pairing them with a cocktail or wine.

🤣😂🤣💚 Erin and Laura, you guys made my day ...and you also made me laugh-snort! Thank you for this wildly entertaining video. ~Margie💐
I love these ways of filming because it somehow makes me feel like I’m just sitting in on your “real” conversation. And it makes me feel like I know you.
Me too, well put.
Who wouldn't want to pull weeds with the two of you? Love seeing you guys together!
Erin, Laura,
Finally, another Wine & Weeds--YEY! 😃
This really was a blast, Erin! Thank you for putting this together. I enjoyed every moment spent with you. Lots of laughs, plants, wine, and the absence of weeds. What more could we want! 😆
How fun!! Great to see you rwo together taking care of biz and yucking it up!!
Apparently you two are trouble when you get together! Loved this😂
I loved this! The opening was great too - such a badass garden woman vibe!
Bloopers are great! Laura's snorting and you guys are cut off in that heat with liquor!
Fabulous ❤😂 you two are hilarious together and i definitely think there was more "wine" than weeds in this episode. Love it 😂😂😂😂
How fun!! I need some friends to nerd out on plants, drink and laugh snort! Well done ladies!!!
This was a hoot! Erin, I am obsessed with my fireworks solidago. It's such a good plant for the pollinators. Really sad and wild story about the meadow.
I watched this in the garden w/ a cocktail. Such a delight. Cheers.
How much fun! I'm so excited that you guys got to be together in person. Very special moment. Thank you for sharing.
You two are so cute and funny! Sounds like y’all had a blast! Loved this!
I have a Longwood membership and my family tries to go every few weeks to see the gardens. It would have been so awesome to meet you there. My garden bully is bindweed. Your garden is beautiful and I have learned so much about gardening from you. Thanks Erin!
...you two are a mess! 🤣 What a treat to see you both together on this vlog! Your expeditions this week at all the glorious gardens must've been something. 🤗🙌🍂 (from 👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^= [MD 6b])
Hysterical 😂 loved seeing you two together!
Love seeing the gardener camaraderie - glad you guys are back!
This is the fall vlog every Great Lakes gardener needs! I’ve saved watching this till I had wine relax time! Necessary for talking about the hardest part of gardening. I want more weeds and wine vids next year please!!
U 2 are very silly together. Looks like a wonderful visit to Longwood. It goes on my list. Love wine n weeds episodes. Keep it up!
Fun video! Always love a good wine and weeds giggle fest. :)
Oh good heavens 😂I almost spit out my coffee! This was hilarious and I loved the video ☀️💞🙌🏻🤣
My very first wine and weeds or no weeds. So much fun; I can't wait to see another.❤❤
So fun you two wish I was having a cocktail with you two together! Longwood must have been too fun !! Snort snort!!
So fun! I really missed you two doing wine and weeds.
Loved it!! Made me laugh out loud!😆
So fun, glad you were able to get together. Made me laugh at the end! Fireworks Goldenrod is a fall favorite. I Chelsea Chop mine, maybe that is why the one was more tame.
As one of the many, many locals who volunteer at Longwood, I can attest there are weeds, LOL, but I hope the amazing gardens are too distracting beautiful to notice them.😁
I could have sent you home with a suitcase of Fireworks from my garden. I Chelsea chop some for lower, denser growth closer to the front of beds. Give me a heads up when you come back and I'll take you on a local cocktail tour!
I love you two together!! I also deal with the darn Canada thistle. Your bloopers were so funny. Love you girls!💚
😂 loved this! Great information and truly fun silliness. We all need friends that we can laugh with. Happy gardening 🪴
Great FUN , THANKS TO YOU BOTH 🍃🌿
This was so freaking fun! I drank a White Claw while watching you and you guys were just awesome together!!!
You two are the cutest and my favorites! So funny together, especially when you're drinking!
Fun way to spend with my coffee Erin and Laura
Ladies this was fun and hilarious! Would have a drink with you both any day. Erin, your new challenge is to find a weed removal tool or method you like.
So funny,! “Can’t find any weeds”. And “You’d think somebody planned that”. Made my day.
Yay! They're back. Too much fun. Love you both!
Now that’s so fun when you are with your friends ❤❤ and just having a good time sharing things you love
The last part.....OMG.... too funny! Thanks for including that! Happy Friday!
Yay! You are back! Laura and Erin I love Weed and Wine. Hope to see more of you two!
I love that weed puller! My friend bought it for me. So satisfying to tackle dandelions with it!
That was the best especially at the end, couldn’t stop laughing!
You two are a hoot! Thanks for the fun!
Sedge grass is in the soil bags that we buy at any nursery or box store.
You two are cracking me up. Wish you could always meet in person for Wine & Weeds.
😂😂😂 So much fun !! Cheers 🍷🍷
That was a lot of fun! What a fabulous place to do Wine & Weeds. Did you really think you'd find any lol? It's great to know I'm not the only one who snorts when laughing. That was such a great finish. Cheers!
Oh boy, I'm here for the outtakes! Also loved when Mary Anne N. zoomed across the path...I now understand why Layanee kept complaining about keeping up with her 🤣🤣
Hi Laura & Erin ,This was a fun video of you two. Im happy you two,met in person.
You girls are having too much fun! Your garden videos are fabulous. Thanks for taking us along.
Yay for PA! Can’t wait to get to Longwood someday soon. We visited over winter one time and it was magical, even in the snow. I have ‘Fireworks’ and I concur, it is glorious!
So great to see you two together!
Love you guys! It looks like you’re having a great time. I think sedge comes from mulch. I have a problem with it too and had none when I moved to this house 4 years ago. It was a new house, all new gardens and now I fight it constantly. It’s impossible to get rid of.
Wine, weeds and snorting. I'll toast to that!!
😆😆
I love you two, you are, bar none, my favorite garden utube folks, the two of you are so funny and cute. Thistle...Canadian... where do I start? My neighbor who is a pig does nothing about this or anything else, so when they became 5' tall I turned him into the county weed board. So believe it or not he did something about it. I ,on the other hand, pull all my weeds including thistle by hand like Laura. I so enjoy you two..CHEERS
Can we just get a vod cast of Laura and Erin talking about gardening while having drinks please?
I have also been battling canada thistle so I don't mind one bit hearing about another gardeners frustration getting rid of it.
I swear the seed back around my yard is just full of invasives. Removed a dying tree and it stump, and then thistles were everywhere.
Aerated an area of lawn and was greeted by a carpet of buckthorn seedlings weeks later.
I am all about the Dutch push pull hoe now. But man does that take a lot of repeats to make a dent in the area
Laughing out loud at work watching this so much fun.
Well that was good fun. And seeing Flingers pass by in the background added some extra interest. The blooper ending was classic. My photos were crapola so I am hoping you had better luck with your filming. Taking images from beneath a poncho was a challenge.
Laura, if you have nutsedge, Jim from Hortube, who prefers to not use chemicals, answered my q & a question about it and said, "That's one that he would suggest to use chemicals to get rid of it." I think mine originally came from a mulch delivery. If you really look when you pull it, or really dig under it, you'll see the roots spread out in all directions. When you don't get the whole root, it continues to grow. There is Nutsedge killer that does a good job if you stay with it. It will eventually creep out into the lawn if you're not careful.
Believe me, I wish I didn't know so much about it.😬
Good luck, love wine and weeds!!
Glad you had a good time - I laughed along with you - you guys are too funny.
Loved the snort laugh! I too have thistle patches under spruces! Impossible to dig out due to tree roots. Weed whip and smothering but still there!
Hysterical! That looked fun!
You two are hilarious!! Garden centers shouldn’t sell plants like Mazus reptans and others that are almost invasive. I planted Evening Primrose, spreads quite happily. While shopping I saw a couple of people eyeing it saying “how pretty the flowers.” I talked them out of buying it. I said,”you’ll never get rid of it.” I felt it was my duty to warn them 😊
Wonderful video❤❤
Oh that was great .... loved the outtakes.
Love you guys! More please!!!!!! 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Hi from Central Jersey ! Pulling Nut Sedge leaves the "Nut" in the ground to continue spreading. I had the same problem for a few years. This year finally no sign of it. You have to spray. There is a Nut Sedge spray in the big box stores that wont harm the lawn. It may take a few years of spraying EVERYTIME YOU SEE IT !
Ladies, glad you're back!! Cheers!!
Absolutely, loved this cut loose video 😂😂😂😊😊
That was fun to watch, I'm sure it was even funnier in person wish I was there😂😂😂😂
Hi Erin & Laura! What a great way to spend the day! I've been fighting Canada thistle in my garden over 30 years. Bonny
So fun! Great place and I'll have to get there!
I needed this tonight, including the snorts!
Thank you. You girls are hilarious.
Longwood is on my bucket list! Thanks for the video!
Love her!
Oh how fun! You ladies are great! Have fun!
Reminds me when I'm out on the town with my BFF and we are having a few and start talking serious stuff and each feel like we are solving all the problems of the world..and cracking each other up.
Side note...I love Longwood and live about 3hrs away.
Whenever I see a weed in flower or pod, I remember this:
1 years seeding is 3 years weeding! …. then I pull that thing!
This was so much fun! Speaking of mazus (which is one of my favorite ground covers) an older wiser gardener once said to me there’s a reason they don’t put dimensions on it. It spreads infinitely including over stone.😅
LOL😂 Loved the end especially!
I love you guys! The outtake was awesome!
You guys are so funny. Love the bloopers!
Purslane has been the bane of my existence, especially spring
Yes, my friend and I visited LG the day before they found video footage of that inmate on their grounds , crazy…. We took the tram to the house in the meadow, wonder if he was in there then 😮
Hurrah for Longwood!
Please some advice on Bindweed before I give up a whole garden bed! And had to chuckle at the women cleaning the table behind you😂
You two are the best. I will finish watching at home.
I really need to wake up before scanning the UA-cam home page...
I first read this title as Wine & Weed! That caught my attention, but this was nonetheless a fun episode.
Loved seeing you two together!
You’re in my neighborhood! Wish we could’ve met!
I'm here for the bloopers!!!
Cheers Ladies. 😊
I've got something like sedge growing all over too! It's quite easy to pull, unlike most weeds.
Such a fun video. Missed Wine and Weeds glad you brought it back. Longwood Gardens is such a wonderful place - thanks for sharing. So funny!!
Omg! Love watching your videos!
I thought the seeder that you tried to talk about was a cedar, like a cedar nursery or…. This episode really showed how much fun y’all had!
Too much fun, guys😂😂
