Here they are! Seemingly out of nowhere, Nike has given us a very early look at the 2024 Zoom Mercurial Superfly 10 and Vapor 16 Elites! While they won't be available until summer 2024, Nike has shared some interesting details about the boots, amongst a bunch of other significant changes. The upper on these will have Gripknit I'm assuming it comes straight from the phantoms upper. You can see in a lot of the videos Nike has released where they show the new model on the inside of the boot under the Nike swoosh logo it says "Nike Gripknit"
These remind me of the white/blue Vapor 4’s from like 2008

Yeah. I’m gonna end up getting these once they drop. I hope the upper is a little bit softer out of the box. And a smidge thinner. Not that the current Vaporposite+ upper is bad, it’s actually quite excellent once it warms up and becomes more malleable.
The Vapor 8 is still a stunningly gorgeous boot.

Was really hoping they were gonna get rid of the air zoom for the Nike Mers. It’s actually such a dated tech (appearing in the early 00s). It really doesn’t translate that well to footy with so many high intensity lateral movements - feels like you’re running on a slippery air bubble. They had it perfect with the ergonomic soleplate in the 11-14s which allowed your foot to “sink” into it. The seamlessness and comfort it created in the boots was second to none. BRING ERGONOMIC SOLEPLATES BACK NOT AIR ZOOM.
The air unit looks like the gel unit of the ASICS light something

There are more photos where you can see on inside of the boot the "Nike Gripknit" tag. I wonder if they actually will have the same gripknit as the phantoms.

It’s actually like that haha. Gripknit is not too far off from the Flyknit upper on the 13s.

I just learned I have high arches and that’s why I get tons of heel slippage, even when I get smaller size, any suggestions for insoles or other fixes?
I can’t say that I’ve ever heard of a high arch being the cause of heel slippage. Different insoles might be comfortable for you, but I don’t think they would impact your heel slipping less. Perhaps some grip socks could help?

It’s definitely possible, especially given the way it looks and the overall texture it appears to have. If that is the case however, I would expect to be/feel quite a bit different from the GX/Luna upper. I’m sure Nike will be putting out more official info relatively soon
I feel like the superfly 9s only looked worse after they changed the swoosh and added the AIR thing.

The Taijin/Flyknit difference was actually interesting and made a real difference.

Nike new colour ways for the past couple years really sucks, they are lame, its really hard waiting a couple month just to see what new colour they are going to drop again only to be disappointed most times, they should start back dropping 2 or 3 colour ways at a time again, just my opinion though
