I have had this device for 18 months now. The doctor did a EGD with dilation 6 months later. Its painful eating and drinking. I have talked to him and pretty much told me this is all in my head. So I had my records sent to a different doctor. This doctor did some tests and come to find out the link is not around my esophagus but around my stomach. I was sent to another doctor that explained I was not a good candidate for this procedure as my esophagus is to short. So now I'm having surgery to lengthen my esophagus and remove the linx and part of my stomach. They will do a wrap but not a complete nissan only about half way around. Think before you have this done. If the first doctor would have listened to me.

what were your symptoms? these are mine. I am trying NOT to have any more surgery. From having an EDG I found out that I have a small Hiatal hernia. I have constant burning in my throat like acid breath., some belching, & sometimes I can hear my stomach gurgle. I occasionally have heartburn. I have to sometimes clear my throat. I don't have a constant cough though, I can eat & swallow fine & I don't have post nasal drip. I have tried ppi & they really dont work that well. I had surgery in Nov to remove a huge ovarian fibroid that was a 25 cm ovarian fibroid & thank goodness it is gone however, it left me with a loss of a kidney & I think this hernia because the mass was & I don't want any more surgery to fix this. I am going to my chiropractor to help with the hernia. Any advice would be grateful. laying on my stomach.

I had the LINX device and it helped for a year but then it stopped working as expected. Around that time I received a letter that said my LINX device had been recalled by the FDA. I ended up having it removed, my hiatus hernia repaired and a Nissen fundoplication performed.

I've had the linx band for 2-3 years now but ended up passing out because of pressure in the chest, went to the emergency room by ambulance, and they can't figure anything out. But I know its spasms due to drinking ice cold water. The first time it happened. When I drank ice-cold water consistently so I think it might have affected me and caused the spasm. VERY PAINFUL.

after about 2 years im having more consistent dysphagia but its kind of minor, just some foods that are dry or oblong shape, but when it happens it hurts when it passes through. i did gain a lot of weight though so i dont know if that is causing the dysphagia. i read on the LINX website gaining weight more likely would cause the device to not work and give more reflux so... maybe i need a dilation. i dont know..

Make sure have hcl with pepsin , so acid ph is good in stomach , also raw organic apple cider vinegar with the mother in is awesome 5ml with water , and organic aloe vera juice , and good probiotic , try that few months to year or so , but keep up at least acv / hcl with pepsin , see the difference and eat smaller meals but healthier food

I’d like more detail on what they have learned about erosion. Is this something they expect everyone to experience at some point in their lives after getting the linx. Is linx a simple explant? What are the risks of explant? When is the best time for explant, early stages like (6 months) or later stages (5 years).

I've been reading, watching videos and following Facebook groups on lynx and fundoplication. I'm convinced these procedures will stop reflux but unfortunately you won't be the same you will have complications forever unless you're are in your early to mid 20's when you get it done that also not being a safe bet either. Currently I'm looking into the Tif procedure seems to be least damaging fix and may be just as effective.🤔
