I kind got the impression, that the X in Roxas`s name is some sort of mark, that he is considered a vessel. I think the scene were Roxas get`s his name is also pretty well done. First the letters are blue, and form the name Sora. Then Xemans rearranges them, and adds the X in the center. When the name Roxas appears, the color of the letter`s has changed to yellow. I like to think that the new name, and the new color both symbolize his new identity, he isn`t Sora anymore, but Roxas. Also the X and the color yellow(since Xehanort`s eyes are yellow) symbolize the "poisoning" nature of the Recusant`s Sigil, so he has a new identity, but he has also been marked as vessel candidate. Also I am kind of new here, so I don`t know if this means anything to you, but I just really wanted to thank you Arch, for making these videos. I especially love your KH and FF videos. Really deep and intelligent talk in those videos. You are one of the smartest person I have ever seen. So to but it shortly, thank you! :)
Oh boy, 2 hours. Not sure if I'll ever play this game, so I'm perfectly happy getting the whole thing spoiled, I want to be educated on the lead up to KH3!
Things I wish/hope that KH3 can work on: 1) Better usage of the Disney Worlds. Like, as them being a part of the plot, like how they were in KH1; unlike in KH2 and onwards (Yes, it technically started in Chain of Memories, but even in-universe had kinda stated that what happens in each floor doesn't really matter anyways, only the in between floor cutscenes do matter). For example, if you were to show someone the story of ONLY KH1 (not including the whole series timeline story), the only worlds you need to show to tell the story are: Destiny Islands Traverse Town 1st visit Wonderland ~ kind of Deep Jungle, but that's only because of that Disney Villain cutscene & a little character interaction development between Sora & Donald, otherwaise kinda skip-able ~ ~ kind of Olympus Coliseum, but so far it looks like we won't see that payoff until KH3 ~ Traverse Town 2nd visit Agrabah Monstro ~ kind of Atlantica ~ Neverland [that little trip back to Traverse Town] Hollow Bastion 1st visit Traverse Town 3rd visit Hollow Bastion 2nd visit The End of the World The only worlds that have no relevance to the plot of KH1 are: 100 Acre Woods, Halloween Town, Atlantica (in regards to the plot of KH1 it doesn't really contribute much, but it DOES mention the Keyblade War, so hopefully this world will have a payoff in KH3, unlike in KH2 which was a joke), and kinda Deep Jungle & Olympus Coliseum. Compare this to KH2 where the only worlds that matter to the plot are ONLY Twilight Town, Hollow Bastion, & The World That Never Was (& kinda Space Paranoids). And that's just mentioning one game besides the original. You can imagine how they handle it for the rest of the series: Hit & miss.
Great rumination Arch, loved everything and please, don't lose faith on Xibgar/Braig because I still believe that he's has a motive of his own. However, my small little idea on it is thinking way too strongly on it, but I like regardless :D
I just have to say after watching all these kingdom heart analysis videos...you earned a new a subscriber. I love your detailed views and opinions. I love how you emphasis with the nobodies and how you view and break down the game. These videos should have so many more views. I cannot imagine how long it took to write notes for these games and break them down the way did. That's some dedication!
I didn't like DDD on the 3DS much, but I do enjoy its remastered version on PS4. The original suffered from enemies not being stunned by your attacks, resulting in a lot of cheap deaths where you're bounced about like a rag doll if there's a large pack of 'em. The remaster fixed that, making the experience a lot more manageable.
I love the music for Kingdom Hearts, the story is timeless, the characters are relatable, the only problem I have if any is the game play....Awesome rumination Arch! And thanks for the info that all the games are being conjoined into PS3 discs!
the Time Travel stuff is horribly overly convoluted and the Disney worlds are poorly handled thematically but they are incredibly fun to play in. I love the style and look of everything in this game but I think it wasn't executed as well as it could have been. If that style was balanced with substance in each section showcasing it, I would have liked it more.
I am literally going to fist pump a hole in the ceiling when Terra Ventus and Aqua finally return. Which isn't comfirmed but i cant see it not happening.
Things I wish/hope that KH3 can work on: 2) Have the camera control be just like KH2. Yeah, the series' camera control [EDIT: & camera angles] really sucks (especially KH1). When the whole series was ported onto PS3 and PS4 (which it should have been on there since day 1), sadly the camera control was not fixed, It still sucked. KH3 really has to break that awful pattern by making its camera control be on par or better than KH2. 3) Combine the best gameplay elements of the previous KH games into a hybrid of them for KH3. In my opinion, Kingdom Hearts 3 should have these good things from the previous games (I'm just listing some of them): For me it would be: *KH1* - jumping platforms, world design layouts differ from world to world & interacting with world elements (similar with Re:Chain of Memories). World exploration like backtracking (like you later learn glide so when you come back to visit you can access a new area you couldn't reach earlier). *KH2* - Camera control, Reaction Commands, Drive Forms, the Keybalde(s) having its own Ability(s), the updated Magic System, the updated improved Gummi Ship 'mini game thingy', updated abilities, updated AI for allies/opponents, Theater Mode on the main menu. *KH358/2 Days* - Critical Rate & Critical Bonus (the chances of dealing a Critical Hit & just how much damage will be dealt when dealing Critical Hits respectively). KHDays is the only game so far that has a visible stat for Critical anything. *KHBBS* - Shock Lock, that Deck Command System charging gauge thingy, the option to have multiple spells, attacks, finishing combos, etc. I think KH3 should have 3 menus for the command menu: Menu 1: -> Menu: 2: ---> Menu 3: Attack Attack The BBS Deck Command System Magic Summon Item Party Drive Limit And in case you're wondering, the regular Magic is just for regular magic spells that you can use any number of times like in KH2. The magic spells you use in the BBS Deck Command System are the other unique spells like Crawling Fira, Mine Square, & Thundaga Shot for example. *KHReCoded* - Clock Program & Passive Abilities, or at least a hybrid of this for KH3. *KHDDD* - Flowmotion, Boss Fight Rematch option.
The camera angle itself varies from game to game in terms of quality (with KH2's being at just the right distance), but control-wise, the remastered ports did actually fix it, as they moved the controls to the right analog stick rather than forcing you to deal with dated shoulder button nonsense.
It’s time my friend. I sure hope you have the appropriate system. ❤️ Can you do an expectations video about game length difficulty abilities movesets physics etc? Thanks!
This whole dream time thing is SO convoluted, I absolutely love it, and might also hate it, I can't be sure on that part. Either it's awesomely nonsensical, or just awesome period; I'll need to see the actual game to be sure.
2nd Point is that pluto involvement is the series seems very sketchy and they have never showed him with mickey even though delivers the letters then does who knows what in dark portals afterwards
Hello I have a strange theory just because something about the game color palete confused me. I noticed the select screen/ the loading screen, / the drop meter /and the flow motion were all pink. The fact that sora was a kid as in how he was in 1 at destiny island. I think that dream drop distance takes place in kairi's dream while riku is in soras dream. The secret ending of them revealing kairi I think meant more than what was said. Julius as a secret boss problemly is related to mickey somehow
Well, looks like Kingdom Hearts 3 is finally coming out soon (even though it got postponed; instead of it being released in Aug-Dec, its coming out in Jan 2019). So if you haven't already, did you get a copy of a PlayStation 4, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 HD ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD ReMIX?
Archengeia, how do you plan to play KH3 when it comes out? I know you've been having some budget issues become of your medical bills, so does this mean we will have to wait a lot longer for your KH3 Ruminations when the game does come out?
I'll be honest, I have no real plans for picking up KH3 when it comes out. I absolutely cannot afford such a huge, unnecessary expense as a PS4 right now and as I've stated before I'm incredibly hesitant to buy a console that only has 2 games I want to play on it.
Archengeia well, it will probably be a couple years before KH3 comes out, Im thinking 2016 for earliest. Obviously 2014 is a no, with as early in development as it is, I doubt they would make a 2015 release and have it be good, so 2016 seems plausible. So by then the PS4 will have likely received at least one price drop, plus you will be able to find used ones. Considering your fanbase, I could even see some donating money to you so you can buy one, just so you can make a rumination (not saying you should or would ask for this from them, I could just see it happening).
Well two thoughts on it. Either 1: It was done to finally have a Disney character as a super optional or 2: It's a bit of a teaser about where Pete's storyline is going (remember Maleficent's comment about how she has plans for him?)
sorry, you probably talked about this already in one of your other ruminations but, if you did, i don't remember. what's the deal with the stations (the place you go at the beginning of KH 1 where you choose between the sword, the shield and the staff)? what are they? and.. is it the same place in KH1 and KH2?
I talk about this a bit during my Re:Coded video but the synopsis is; it's up to interpretation at the moment but it has to do with a physical representation of one's heart.
Maybe it's just me but the time travel still makes no sense to me even after your explanation. Probably just goes to show that introducing it in the setting was frankly a mistake. My opinion anyway.
I kind got the impression, that the X in Roxas`s name is some sort of mark, that he is considered a vessel. I think the scene were Roxas get`s his name is also pretty well done. I don't know if Xemnas and Ansem have different goals, but I'm sure Braig does. I expect betrayal from him. Or at least a breakaway from the plan.
Oh boy, 2 hours. Not sure if I'll ever play this game, so I'm perfectly happy getting the whole thing spoiled, I want to be educated on the lead up to KH3!

I really enjoy how detailed your ruminations are, I would love to hear one about the devil may cry series (mainly the 1st, 3rd, and 4th)

The realm of darkness must be freaking huge if it's depicted as an ocean o.o
Well I know what I'll be doing for the rest of the day; Thank you so much for these terrific videos. Always makes my day whenever I see one up!
Man, I am so glad I found your videos. Your explanations have helped me greatly to understand what is going on. Thank you.

At 30:07 spoilers section begins
At 1:33:00 time travel stuff
I wish I could fully watch this, but I'm only on the first game. Staying awaaaaaaaay from the comments section at the moment.
I wonder if there are Disney worlds in the Realm of Darkness?
I am literally going to fist pump a hole in the ceiling when Terra Ventus and Aqua finally return. Which isn't comfirmed but i cant see it not happening.

@DidneyLehnd
Oh, I know that. I guess I should've explained myself better lol. You've said it better than I did.
It’s time my friend. I sure hope you have the appropriate system. ❤️ Can you do an expectations video about game length difficulty abilities movesets physics etc? Thanks!
Epic man. Keep it up Arch!

I too would love to see a Ruminations of Fable TLC and the Fable series in general Arch.
Two hours, yay! Something to watch tomorrow morning.

I haven't gotten the PS4 versions yet, but I got each of them on the PS3 for streaming back during the Lorerun.
What's your opinion on KH2 Final Mix's added difficulty settings?
The exasperation on trying to explain what KH actually is @ 51:00 is exactly how I feel about this whole series.
Party members: Sora and Donald. Main Character: Goofy
"...And don't sigh so much, be a dear."
*Ugh*
Why do you say the odds are so against it being good?
Are you going to discuss 0.2 when you do your Rumination of KH3 in February? Its pretty much a part of KH3 anyways.
Another question will be whether or not he's going to cover the stuff Re:Mind added/altered.
@@Drums_of_Liberation I would assume he is, considering he waited until this month to release it. Time will tell.
My loathing for Pokemon could have been significantly reduced if they were called Dream Eaters instead.
Archengeia, how do you plan to play KH3 when it comes out? I know you've been having some budget issues become of your medical bills, so does this mean we will have to wait a lot longer for your KH3 Ruminations when the game does come out?

Spoiler Warning. Arch gets a PS4. Also KH3 doesn't come out in 2016.
Hey Archengeia i wanted to ask you didn't talk about Julius in the do you think he was there to be there or was he there for some higher purpose
Well two thoughts on it. Either 1: It was done to finally have a Disney character as a super optional or 2: It's a bit of a teaser about where Pete's storyline is going (remember Maleficent's comment about how she has plans for him?)
You're right I remember her saying that. Thanks and I loved the rumination.
sorry, you probably talked about this already in one of your other ruminations but, if you did, i don't remember.

Where's your Birth By Sleep video?
Archengeia's Ruminations: Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep
Oh, thanks :)
Symmetrical* ;)
