The fact Rambo didn't mention any medal of honor or anything else can have a deeper meaning. Maybe the script authors decided that Rambo wanted to be respected as a man first, a *human being,* instead of pulling up "excuses" that would plead the respect of others. Had he been a simple drifter that never set foot in Vietnam, would that make him a lesser person in any way, unworthy of even stepping foot in town? Certainly not. And Rambo knew that.
The main conflict between Will and Rambo is due to the sheriff being a Korean War veteran and the latter being a Vietnam War vet. Will feels he did not get the recognition that he should have gotten for his service in comparison to Rambo. Finding out that Rambo was awarded the Medal of Honor just made his resentment worse. The book goes way more into detail about this than the movie.
As a Vietnam vet I understand him not wanting to talk about it tell of his medals. My grandkids get mad at me for not talking about it. I tell them there is nothing to tell.
yes sir my father is the same purple heart army infantry... he hardly ever mentions it or anything we used to always see his huge leg scars and used to think he was a football player because of the lace pattern like on the football 🏈😂
In 1982 i bought a VHS Panisonic Stereo VCR and 19" matching TV.So now....where do you find movies....The very first movie i rented was First Blood and Neighbors with Dan Acroid and John Belushi. At my work i told my co-workers that i was showing movies at my apartment and invited about 6 guys.Asked them to bring something.....beer...food...pizza..chips.....popcorn etc...also their wives if they wanted to..About 23 people showed up.And we had a great party. And i had three cases of beer left...one whole pizza...and enough food to last a week.I did this several times that year.Back then....no one had a video set up cept me and showing movies was just magnetic to people.
A thing you missed is teasel is a Korea vet. The forgotten war. He may have an underlying resentment towards the media's love for vietnam. We see in his office he was quite decorated and proud. Alot of Korean War vets felt this way. Rambo would never mention the medal of honor as it was irrelevant to him. He was a green beret who did his job. It didn't matter. Not even on his radar
The book goes into very good detail about the resentment the sheriff has for Rambo. I highly suggest reading it. It's night and day difference from the movie. Rambo is an absolute psychopath in the book.
Not everything was an error. This was the early 80's. A small town with a local police force who was hostile to drifters, wouldn't necessarily be in a hurry to offer that phone call to a drifter. The "missing" divider between the front seat and back of the police cruiser wasn't missing. Those weren't as common, then, especially in a small town setting. Even today, not every American police force has them. The Canadian registered helicopter is easily explained, too. Again, small town. They don't own their own helicopter; they rent access to one. And, Washington is a State that borders Canada. The real Hope Washington isn't very far from Victoria BC, as the crow, or helicopter, flies. The chopper and pilot could have easily come from Victoria. The motorcycle thing is also explainable. That was a civilian bike that was commandeered. There's no way of telling if the suspension was modified, what condition the tires are in, or if the throttle was wonky. Plus, he lost it while traveling up steep, wet rocks, in panic mode. And, once he lost it, he was already at the woods, where he felt more at home, and the sheriff had rolled his car, so the bike just wasn't necessary, anymore. The shaving thing; that was probably lighting. And, speaking of lighting, the suddenly night thing... The movie DID take place in December. It can go from light to dark, pretty fast, that time of year. It's also possible that he hid somewhere for an hour, so that he could hit town after dark, to utilize the cover provided in the absence of light. Knocking the power out doesn't really do much good in the daytime. There's more, of course, but I think that I've made my point.
Ummm maybe finding out about his friend Delamar berry's death made him quieter. He was the last guy from his unit left. that's called ptsd and depression.
I remember when I was a early teen my baby brother and I would watch old movies and pick out things in the movie that were wrong. Like a cowboy and Indian movie fighting on their horses in an open field and you see the shadow of a Helicopter lol. 1030 movie and you see a Mustang drive by.
The identification of filming errors is spot on, though some of facts are a stretch, and some are just popular misconceptions. The one fact overlooked is that a disposable safety razor would have been used to shave Rambo. No police would shave anyone arrested (especially an obviously unstable man) with a straight razor.
3m45 11 prebroken glass is not a goof. Single pane glass in the old days often had breaks in it, and you know, sometimes people just left it if it wasn't an important window
Lady, you sure got eyes. But you forgot two things. 1) Cinema is not about pausing and analysing. It's sitting back and enjoying. 2) Shots make scenes, and scenes run together at a particular tempo/speed make a movie work. You meanwhile does just the opposite.. It's like you shoot your face while you are having food and later slow it down and break down the footage into stills and finding out in horror that your chewing expressions are not even terrific but terrifying...
Never known any movie that has mistakes but actually fun to look for after watching so many times. And he got the “clothing” from what I guess is old abandoned truck or something, not seen the movie in long time.
2 mistakes and goofs in...63 mistakes and goofs in "Rambo first blood. 1.The movie in question was produced in the 80s. 2.It stars Sylvester Stallone... In the 80s
There was a lot of unintentionally funny scenes, and mistakes, but I think that adds to the movie, it doesn't detract from it. The whole notion that some kind of superman can defeat the police force and the National guard doesn't strike me as realistic, anyway.
I've seen this film hundreds of times, and I always wondered what he did with that jacket. In the middle of the freezing wilderness, I have to believe that someone in Rambo's situation would definitely wear it, and I guess I always chalked up the "jacket" scene on the rocks after the deputy falls from the helicopter as more of a search for the radio mentioned earlier, as well as weapons and other goodies. But in both this film and also in "The Fugitive", where Harrison Ford has a winter coat from one of the ambulance drivers, and later tosses it in a storm drain to mislead Tommy Lee Jones is just pure fiction; he too would been far better off actually using it for warmth in the middle of the winter woods whilst evading the authorities rather than throwing it away in an attempted feint, perhaps as Stallone did as mentioned by another commenter below.
You are obviously not born in the 1960s Every movie ever made has mistakes even in Private Ryan ( 1997) Gladiator, all.James Bond Movies and in 2021 The Rust Movie someone is Killed with a live round of ammo . I'm sure you could spend the next 50 years looking for mistakes in every movie ever made .
And sooner than later, I find out that this is a computerized voice with no human capabilities to tell a story, so therefore it is shut down immediately!!
For the excitement. It was a very popular action flick trope, in the 70's, 80's, and into the 90's. And, really, it's one of the things I want from a movie. Basically, I want shooting, car chases, car crashes, and explosions. Maybe the occasional fisticuffs, but we can skip the over-the-top martial arts nonsense.
Doesn’t matter how much you rip this movie to bits it’s still a classic 👍
Yes....for a kid

Never noticed any of the movie mistakes 😂 The movie was so captivating that the mistakes did not matter 😜
Exactly 🤨
i noticed half of them.
Most iconic movie... The best in the franchise and most famous knife ever made.
Billy Jack was similar…
Awesome book too, but no knife in the book.
You do not watch this for a military historical account....you watch it because Sly and the cast give great entertaining performances

Very true. That's what I got from the movie when it first came out, so many years ago. Best series of movies.
I just enjoy the movie. I have watched it numerous times and overlook little mistakes that happen so fast that you don’t notice them anyway.
It's one big mistake happening very slowly.
Who cares? This movie kicked ass!

For one thing the law doesn't give a damn about any awards if they don't like you this will happen medal of honor or not.
The best movie in the world

A good movie even with Richard Crenna's thick, over the top acting.
I dont care about the mistakes, the movie is great. Still worth seeing again and again.
Whoever made this is wrong. It is indeed called the Congressional Medal of Honor
Who cares . It will never stop me watching it again another 5 times
Don't care still my favorite movie.
Its a good. Movie i really don't care about anything else

Exactly.
@K37 that hardly seems like a legitimate argument to ignore a monthly stipend and access to free transportation, assuming that is accurate of course.
yeah, it's unfair to blame the vets
The book goes into very good detail about the resentment the sheriff has for Rambo. I highly suggest reading it. It's night and day difference from the movie. Rambo is an absolute psychopath in the book.
Good movie. Saw it at the mall theatre when it came out. Seeing it on a Big screen was awesome.
Thx for the video … but Rambo 1,2,3 have no mistakes - they are perfect movies
The scene where Troutman and the sheriff go at in the tent is the best

Best actor ever and a movie franchise to die for, well actually lots of people did die in it.
Video is narrated by The Terminatrix from T3.

@@Eleventhearlofmars Get out my pub.... you toe rag!
The bike is a 4stroke Yamaha XT but in the movie it sounds like a 2stroke. Probably the biggest fuckup that you didn't notice.
The policeman with the broken nose actually got his nose broken by Sylvester Stallone because he accidentally hit him.
If you want to read a good book, then read First Blood. It's nothing like the movie.
It's my favorite movie, series.

Nah that dumb computer voice killed it.😶
The mud scene has to be one of the best shots ever….hands down perfect.

LoL "Dark Skinned Lady".

When Rambo puts the knife to the chiefs throat telling him to let it go. he is noticably cut on his neck.
But when he returns to base the cut is gone.
The flaw I ever noticed was the cliff scene. Where there was a flat ledge that he was holding on to then it was rugged when he let go
Okay Ms Correctall, I still think it's a great movie; since it was filmed in 1982.
I'm sure every movie could be critiqued and shown their flaws.
I don't think it's bad, I'm just showing you interesting mistakes and inaccuracies. =)

I absolutely love Sylvester Stallone since ROCKY came out in 1976, but fell more in love with him when he brought RAMBO to life 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Some of these, like the mirror being there and not being there, isn’t a goof, it’s removed so it doesn’t block the camera.
Love it! Funny audio

Broken glass in a police station, did you see Kojaks office in New York, it's a dump he has to put up with 😅
Why is there the annoying computer generated voiceover?!?

I'd like to know why the legend of the map of Kettle Valley is in Russian.
The biggest howler is Trautman's beret, he's supposed to be a grizzled Vet and wears his beret like a sprog ffs, who dresses these people!
There was a lot of unintentionally funny scenes, and mistakes, but I think that adds to the movie, it doesn't detract from it. The whole notion that some kind of superman can defeat the police force and the National guard doesn't strike me as realistic, anyway.

You can't beat the system, but you can beat them at their own game by killing them with kindness. Rambo went about it all wrong. Lol. Just a movie.
For all it's goofs, it was badass!
O cmon its a great movie, who takes notice of this mistakes... jesus
Someone who doesn't enjoy movies
The story, action and gorgeous Hope, British Columbia, Canada scenery well overshadow the minor mistakes.
Rambo takes the dead cop’s jacket but never uses it.
I've seen this film hundreds of times, and I always wondered what he did with that jacket. I gotta say, being from a simular small town, you are completely wrong about the jail and how many people it should occupy.
It's not "Rambo first blood" it's just "first blood".
Teasel comments Rambo was going to be unpopular wearing "that flag". But all the cops are wearing the same flag
This AI narration is brutal

i don't think that Rambo cares about a medal of honour.

This isn't a mistake or error. It's location and production costs, tax benefits for the production.
I would have watched more than the first 5 seconds of this video, if you didn't have the annoying robotic voice narration.
The title of the movie is just First Blood, not Rambo First Blood.
I watched for about a minute and got annoyed with a robot voice
Well the fact he survived is a big one
Those ammo boxes in truck was standing nice, truck flyied a good 3-7meters.😮after the bridge😅
The name of this movie is First Blood. There is no Rambo in the title!

Film making is an art, factual correctness is secondary to drama…
I can't watch this video anymore, these AI voices really drive me crazy
A lot of this movie was filmed in North Bend Washington 25 miles east of Seattle.
that's about 3 1/2 hours where The Cullin's went to school and Edward wanted Bella so bad, she was like a drug to him, his own personal Heroin. 😂
This is not a true story movie so the mistake is not really a big deal ,,but this channel will benefit every comment here..
Why is the narration some sort of text to speech AI tool? Sounds like a robot.
I loved this movie. But a major problem for me is the motorcycle scene. The engine soundtrack is wrong . 2 stroke sound for a 4 stroke motor
Ur right 👍 and ur sweet voice 😘
It's a computer generated voice.
