    !!!!WARNING!!!:
    MAKE SURE YOU USE COSMETIC GLITTER THAT IS SAFE FOR YOUR EYES. Also, This is my first time making these pressed glitters with this formula so I cannot guarentee how long they last or how safe they are to use. I simply wanted to try it for myself and thought I would share how I did it - but please be cautious and re-create at your own risk.

    you're going to need to add a preservative because these will start to turn in about a month or two. I did the same exact thing & I'm seeing the mold creeping around the edges a la glitter injections scandal that is occurring right now. I need to repress over 20 :-(

    Im really excited to make my own , but Im scared they will become moldy because i read that if you use glycerin, or aloe vera they will mold . Do i need to ad a preservative? Have yours started clumping or molding?? please let me know :)

    • @jordynrachel7954
      @jordynrachel7954 8 років тому

      they shouldn't mold or get clumpy. I've tried this so many times and all I've seen after is it being a bit drying and chalky. hope this works out for u!!!:)

    • @mskittylulu
      @mskittylulu 7 років тому

      Shayla Koen it's water based so yes it needs a preservative. Just because you don't see the mold doesn't mean it isn't there. Good luck finding a cosmetic preservative tho. I've been on the hunt for months lol cuz I want to make these too but I don't want them to get moldy on me

    • @Shayla_Joelle

    • @7slaper
      @7slaper 8 років тому +8

      If you add botanicals (in this case aloe vera gel), other organic elements or water to your recipe, it would be wise to add a preservative!
      Mold is there, long before it becomes visually noticeable.
      Believe me, I've been making cosmetics for the past ten years ad I've seen a lot of ickiness when people did not use a preservative. The last thing you wish to accomplish is causing problems or health issues for others and yourself.

    • @adalinawinsor5602
      @adalinawinsor5602 8 років тому +2

      so what preservative do you think is best to use?

    • @7slaper
      @7slaper 8 років тому +10

      Well, I don't know your location and there are many suppliers in the US, Europe, Australia etc.
      swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.nl/ on this blog you can learn a lot of what you should know about cosmetic preservatives and there are lists for well known suppliers (bottom right side). Also on the sites of the suppliers you can read about the usage rate and best suitable preservative for (aqueous) products.
      Hope this helps.
