Me to I was jumpin in 91-94 but I grew up around it since the 80s my aunt was on a championship winning team in Ny with Victor Pickens God bless his soul he did a lot for us !
I read a PBS article about the Fantastic Four Double Dutch team. They were 🔥. This reminds me of my cousins and friends hanging out during the summer. ❤️🙂
@David Hoffman it won't allow me to send the link. I've tried multiple times. The article is NPR: How the Fantastic Four took Double Dutch to New heights
When black people are left alone to grow and flourish in their own self, their own skin, their own environment: there is nothing that we cannot do. When we are left alone on a level playing field we rise and soar like eagles with wings. Now a days our children cannot even play outside not even in the park in peace without being accosted and harassed. What a beauty. What an absolute joy just to see out children like this.
@@DavidHoffmanFilmmaker I was wondering did u have the original unedited footage because there were some groups there that performed from New York as well that we would love to see tbh I notice this video was mostly Connecticut teams ! Or do I have any pics from back then it's just a lot of memories of these competition but just like skip blumberg video it was so many teams there but the only ones that really got to be seen in the video once edited was fantastic four and like 2 others out of the 100 teams that performed ! I would love to see teams from all over perform even upstate NY there was a coach R.I.P Victor Pickens from Newburgh NY his teams were great but NYC and Hartford were the only ones getting recognition and his teams one first place too many times !
Watching this brought back so much nostalgia. My eyes are watery. Practice was always so intense but we loveeeed competing!

This is 83 to be exact, same time as the Malcolm McLaren hit "Hey Ebonettes" came out!

It's sad the kids nowadays don't know how to do this nor are they taught how to do this nor do they know what this is
I agree!...we often throw away our own genius creativity!
