Mad respect Christian. It's difficult to have an attitude of positivity after a butt-kicking like this. I understand the USC fan base being frustrated, I've been a Ute fan for 40 yrs. I used to sit on rotting wooden benches in the north end zone of a 30k stadium. I remember being told Utah would never have a good football program because it was a basketball school and byu got all the good football recruits. I remember having so much hope when there was none. Moments like this are euphoric for me.

Ute Fan here. Loved your commentary. I struggled watching that first quarter. Then again the Utes under performed on almost every game this year during the first quarter. It’s a 60 min game my friend. Enjoy. Utes are frequently underestimated when on the national stage. Watch Yasmin in the future he’s a beast. He smashes through and jumps over defenders

This game was decided by the fact that one team brought a defense and the other did not.
As the old saying goes, offense wins games, defense wins championships. And that couldn’t be more apparent than this game right here.
This is a great reaction video. Christian wasn’t necessarily unfair or anything, he expected USC to roll. But Utah stood in their way, and stood valiantly. Some fans might have buried this reaction and pretended like it never happened, but you continued your assessment. Well done. UA-cam algorithm wins again. Thanks for sharing.

Great video. Great reaction. And yes, it came down to heart. Utah Football culture is miles above SC. That shows in Caleb's choice of nail decoration and his coach allowing it. Poor sportsmanship, poor attitude.

Not only heart, Utah dominated all three phases of the game and made fewer mistakes than USC. They were the better team through and through and proved it by beating USC TWICE.

Interesting that's the same time in the game Caleb Williams hurt his hamstring. Don't go around thinking the Utes shut down USC's offense because they didn't. Caleb Williams' hamstring shut down USC's offense. The Utes couldn't stop anything USC was running up to that point. I'm not saying USC would have won the game -- their defense sucks. Probably would have ended the same as the first game -- last team with the ball wins. But all you Ute fans thinking Utah did something great to shut down USC's offense -- nah, never happened.

@@tysonbomsta1645 Dude, what game did you watch? Utah couldn't stop ANYTHING USC was doing on offense when Williams was healthy. That's a fact, not opinion. Go back and watch the first quarter and a half. Utah stopped nothing USC was trying to do on offense.
I'm not mad, I'm mature enough that the results of a football game don't affect me that way. I never did say USC would have won, because USC's defense sucks. With a healthy Williams for the whole game, the team with the last possession probably wins the game. But saying Utah had anything to do with shutting down USC's offense just isn't accurate. That's my point.
I'm not a Ute hater. I'll cheer for them whenever they aren't playing my two favorite teams.
“Sometimes gunslingers get shot” Caleb Williams is their Offense and he balled out. His problem is he was overconfident and got hurt. Nothing but respect for USC and Williams, but a running gunning QB doesn’t stay a running gunning QB for long.

I'm a ute fan and I was at the atmosphere was electric. it always is when we play USC. I'm genuinely bummed you guys aren't coming to SLC anymore. I wish you luck in the B1G. I'm really gonna miss playing you guys after next season. it's only been 10 years but it turned into a really fun rivalry
Especially considering the Pac-12 is on a huge upswing right now, and will have at least 1, maybe 2 teams in the CFP next year. I think USC gets swallowed up in the Big10.
I agree about Mr Bakers fair analysis and entertaining reactions to the game. I was a little surprised he didn't mention how Rising bounced right back up after that brutal hit he took. I felt like that was a demoralizing gut punch for USC and added greatly to increase Utahs momentum.

Utah may have lost 3 games, but they're still the Pac 12 Champions and they certainly weren't going to let USC take that from them without a fight.
Only lost 2 in-conference games. That’s all that really matters when stack ranking the conference teams. Otherwise perhaps they should have padded the first game out of conference with a cupcake team like most everyone else for the easy start of the season.

Great video, Christian. I can feel your frustration as a USC fan. Every team has had that kind of let down so we all empathize. Utah was able to show some one-dimensionality in the USC game - contain The Heisman winner. Sadly he wasn’t 100% but I still think Utah’s defense showed some looks that confused the USC OL as the game progressed and the lack of USC defense was the nail in the coffin. Great game. Looking forward to an emotional BATTLE next year in The Coliseum for their final regular season in-conference matchup. It should be EPIC. Go Utes!

@@CoreyAWhite I think the commenter was saying that, for those who were using the excuse "CW was hurt for a lot of this game, and that was why USC lost", is that CW was healthy in their earlier matchup and USC still lost, so don't be blaming this loss on any supposed CW injury.
I love how everyone keeps underestimating utah every year. We own the pac.
For real. 4/5 years in the PAC championship game, and back to back champs this year. We are the de facto team to beat. But even in this pregame, the only broadcaster that picked Utah was Urban Meyer because he used to coach there.
@solomonjensen6057 Definitely underestimated and overlooked, back-to-back champs is something special. I will say though, ya'll gotta get into the playoffs to be considered a top program though. The same goes for all the Pac-12 schools, that's why they don't get the respect they deserve.
@@Christiannbaker I'm looking forward to getting into the playoffs. I think it'll happen in the next 2-3 years. We have a great QB, solid O&D line, and our national profile has enabled some great recruiting.

and i get why everyone is talking about usc tackling and sure it was bad but utah is really good at getting mismatches because of the insanely good tight ends im not expecting a 150 pound saftey to solo tackle a 220 pound tight end
My team is a 2nd half team. When they come out of that locker room it's a whole different story. And I seen it live.

Honestly really good reaction video, I liked how you were able to see the poor defense and missed tackles by USC as well as the lack of fire power in the Championship game.
I think its funny your comment is meant as an attempt to be apologetic because of USC's "poor" play and instead it serves to prove that you confess that USC is not a championship caliber team... in your attempt to make excuses for your team you end up bashing your team with the same sentence... Poor defense and missed tackles? Or power running and broken tackles?... Guess its a mater of perspective and opinion... there are several example throughout the gamer but at minute 13:43 No.7 had No.87 wrapped up and 87 tossed him aside like a rag doll. That's not playing scared, that's not playing soft, that's not a missed tackle, that's a broken tackle by No.87 running through No.7. and then again at 16:22 No.7 again this time on No.3... power and "will" broke that tackle! "missed tackles"??? Nothing but excuses!

Caleb Williams was sacked (29) time this season, (11) of those sacks came at Utah's hands. (4) the first meeting and (7) this meeting. That means the other eleven teams that Williams played against had a combined (18) sacks. Utah has (11)!!! That's 38% of his sacks are owned by Utah! Caleb is owned by Utah!

I was shocked at the way this game went down. Looked like Utah just wanted it more which is surprising seeing as Utah gave SC their only loss and a win avenges that loss and it would give you a chance at winning a natty. Yeah Caleb Williams was injured but SC has 4 and 5 stars all over that roster. If they can only win with CWilliams only winning a heisman is about right.

Usually I figure if Utah gets a two score lead in the third quarter and they get pressure on defense, the team they’re playing is screwed. Utah has a lot of emphasis on physical football; they tend to suffocate their opponents by means of ball control. They’re only real weakness is coverage schemes, but that’s mostly because Utah typically plays a lot of man coverage due to their “head on” approach to the game.

Christian you talked about the culture of USC, and the culture LR had at Oklahoma. I think that this year's USC team was more paid for(NIL deals) than anything. They have the talent, but when mom gives you the cookie jar, there is going to be a lack of motivation to get the work done. Just my personal opinion. Curious if you think NIL is taking the fight out of some of these "dogs",as you called them?

Really wish we could have seen a healthy Caleb Williams for this whole game. USC was rolling Utah before he got hurt and Utah rolled USC after he got hurt. I think it could have been a real nail biter like the first game if he doesn’t go out early.

What is hilarious is expecting a 180 pound safety to bring down a 250 pound tight end! Bro, that tight end would pick you up and carry you in. If you watch tight end adjusted for the lower leg tackle so safety tried to go up high. Safety was no match for that tight end. Safety would have got hurdled or shoved to the ground with a cleat in his back!
