I think the direct competitor is the Jeep Gladiator and the Hilux GR Sport maybe. None of those can compete in terms of performance but they are said to be its direct rivals.
A proper beast - viciously expensive when new, too risky a buy when a few years old - I'd say you had the best experience having it as a test vehicle 🙂
In Asia some countries only get the new Raptor with the old 2.0l diesel engine, other countries like Thailand and Malaysia get both v6 petrol and 2.0l diesel. It doesn't look like there's a new gen Raptor with the v6 diesel, strange
@@Africasideways orr so it’s not limited to 180? coz to me the only issue I have with Ford is that it gets off the mark pretty easy and then reaches that 180 then a Hilux GR Sport will fly pass you 🤣🤣🤷♂️
This bakkie you see everywhere in gauteng, it just looks so good.
I can imagine.

Yes, very strange not using the V6 diesel as an option.
Does it go over 180 ?? Atleast 220 would be fine
governed to 180km/h. if you take that off and put different tyres could get 220 easily.

well 180 true speed, 187 on speedo. the GR will take days to catch up.
@@Africasideways ok thanks but I am still happy with my 3.2🤣🤣🤣
naas
These are everywhere in Australia. And I test drove one to see the fuss. Then I ordered one. Nothing like it, and off road it’s a beast.
For sure. enjoy.
