On auto's, you can put the gearbox in park which just locks the gearbox. This isn't actually the parkingbrake on and the roll that you seen is the slop in the drive train. Remember, P on an auto selector isn't the car inpark bud, it's only in park when you activate the parking brake switch
So firstly. - the light grey plastic can be purchased as an aftermarket in OEM black, clip off and straight on. - USA front bumper is all steel but that probably road safety, especially in the country of health & safety. - mpg 19.6mpg is only 12liters/100km that better performance then my first gen and my current second gen. So I would say that’s amazing and your probably not driving it hard enough 😅 - we don’t have heated steering wheel, probably why there isn’t a button to adjust to different markets. - as for the parking brake you should always (especially with that gear box) put it in neutral, then pull the parking brake and then move to park. This make sure that the vehicle is not depending on the gearbox (park) but the hand brake… much better the longevity of your gearbox. Also when you turn the vehicle off, doesn’t it move electronically into park? Or not available option in the uk? - what I don’t like is the amount of tires this thing goes through, heaps of fun on and offroad.
I think the RR is missing some Luxury aspects for that price. Heated and Cooled seats, Sun or Panoramic Roof when you're off-roading is nice, the 360 cams could have been much better, a heads-up display. Just a few extras to make it really feel like a 2023 truck. Overall still worth it. I love my ranger raptor so much!
Great video. Out of your five ‘ Dislikes’ I have to agree with you about the omission of the rear step. I can live with the others ( I’m averaging 20.5 after 3,500 miles) but the step would be great. There is an after market step available for the new generation Ranger but I believe that it is not compatible with the new Raptor, which to me seems odd when all of the remaining new Ranger range already have the rear step!, I have to say though I absolutely love my New Raptor ( in Lightning Blue)
Thanks great to hear you enjoyed the video. I too love it- probably my favourite vehicle I’ve owned so far! The rear step would be such a nice addition! Have you done any mods to yours yet?
One thing to add is when you put the gearbox in reverse, the backup camera turns on automatically - as it should. But, when you switch back to drive, the front camera view does NOT come up. The whole camera just disappears which is quite odd.
And that's exactly how it should be. Why would you want to be looking down at the screen going forward, you should be looking at where you're going out of the windscreen!
I love my Land Rover despite all of the reliability problems and expense; yet no matter how many issues I get, I still can't bring myself to like these other 4x4s.... i don't find any of their style or looks or versatility are as good as all of the Land Rover range, sadly!

Gotta be honest. I'm surprised that you've adjusted to the quality of the Ford interior after being around LR's for so long. The Ford looks and feels cheap by comparison. I drove one of these from Cairns to Brisbane in Australia and found the space inside quite lacking compared to my D5, especially in the shoulder area and the cabin fit and finish very disappointing
Not sure if I agree entirely with that - the cabin space in the front is very similar to my D5. Yes the interior is more bare - similar to the new defender but this suits my lifestyle better than a Discovery right now plus is a lot more fun to drive!
The only thing stopping me from buying a pick up truck is my local tip policy. They don’t want vans or pickups but its fine in a equally sized suv though. So obviously im looking at suv,s.

I hear ya on the screen being needed for so many controls. My Disco 4 was in the shop and JLR gave me a new Evoque as the loaner car… it was absolutely rubbish. The screen controls quite literally everything apart from the windows and door locks. Not a single knob or button in the entire cockpit. If I wanted to change the temp or the fan speed I practically needed to pull over to do so safely. Your eyes are off the road for a long time looking at the screen for the most basic of changes. These things are going to get people into accidents. And unfortunately that’s what it’ll take for this fad to go away… people dying.
@@thedoctorsgarage Yeah. The screens should be for nav, cameras and the radio/Bluetooth stuff. I shouldn’t need to go through 3 pages of crap to get to the page that selects which vents are being used 🤦♂️

Why anyone purchases a truck with a twin turbo petrol engine and complains about economy? You want economy, purchase a diesel, sure, it's not that exciting and crazy fast, but it's definitely not slow and it's economical, and honestly, will do just about everything the petrol version will do except a fast 0-60 time split. If your off-road climbing hills and going through mud, you don't need horsepower, you need torque. Honestly, how many people are doing desert off-road speed racing? Not many in a factory spec truck. The petrol version is an overpriced toy that will drain your bank account in fuel and maintenance, the diesel version is an honest do everything truck with advanced off-road capabilities.
You’ll be back at JLR dealership soon. We went three months without a landrover after selling our new defender. All these pickups just can’t do what a Land Rover can. There’s a reason we live with the constant fear of breakdowns because nothing else’s compares. We went for a 4.4 SDV8 FFRR AB as they’re at rock bottom now (insurance was £1000) and it’s absolutely great, if you can do general maintenance they’re not to fear.
When you where driving your series you looked like a guy with taste but unfortunately the pick up needs a couple of churns in the back and a greyhound in the back and it would look perfect.
If that is all you have to gripe about then i think you are being very picky. Why do you not just put the cabin heater on and forget about the gimmicky heated steering wheel and seats.
