China Railway actually stopped producing new CR300 trains quite a while ago because they realized that additional needs for 250km/h trains can all be conveniently fulfilled by the old CRH trains replaced by CR400 trains.

    • @negi9076
      @negi9076 5 місяців тому +16

Yep, CRH380 can be re-graded to 250km/h class trains and some CRHx trains can be even graded as 160km/h trains and run on non-high speed railway systems. The gauge, power, pantograph height and pretty much all hardware is compatible, and the signal system is easily convertible from high-speed CTCS systems to non-high speed LKJ systems.
Fun fact, before China had built nearly all the HSR it had today, they've imported CRH trains already and put them on traditional lines. Some modified traditional lines had seen speeds of 250km/h too!

The rules of the first letter of Chinese train numbers:
    G (high-speed EMU): maximum operating speed 300-350km/h.
D (EMU): The maximum operating speed is 160-250km/h.
Z (direct express): the maximum operating speed is 160km/h. (The fastest train before the high-speed rail era)
T (Express): The maximum operating speed is 140km/h.
K (express train): The maximum operating speed is 120km/h. (In fact, it has been called a slow train by us)
Y (tourist train): The maximum operating speed depends on the type of carriage used.
L (temporary passenger transport): The maximum operating speed depends on the type of carriage used.
S (city area): maximum operating speed 120-160km/h.
Pure digital (general express): maximum operating speed 100km/h.

Difference between T train and Z train is no longer the max operation speed... Many T train using 25T coach also can reach 160kph maxium speed. Before 2015,the Z train request non-stop or only one stop while T train have less restrict.

If you're traveling to Hangzhou next time , be sure to check the new Hangzhouxi (Hangzhou West) railway station. It is a very modern and aesthetic designed station. The brand new design solves most of the problems related to the old generation of railway stations of China, like inconveniences to enter the station via buses and metros (like in Hangzhou dong, you would need to walk very far out of the metro and take multiple escalates to enter).

If you want to try more CR D- and C- trains next time, don‘t get fooled by train No. D1-D300 and C1-C999 which are operated by the slow 160km/h CR200J push-pull EMU that you tried on Laos-China Railway. They also have long distance D-sleepers operated either with CR200J or 250km/h CRH1 or CRH2. The true 250km/h D overnight sleepers only serve on Beijing/Shanghai to Guangzhou/Shenzhen route. There are also few day time 250km/h D-sleepers on Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu and Lanzhou-Urumqi route.

Because CR needs to save budget on these slower EMUs, so CRRC just implemented more existing components from previous models like the CRH380 series. CR300BF is designed and manufactured by CRRC Changchun and Tangshan, these are the manufacturers of the CRH3C and the CRH380B series, i.e., the two manufacturers that cooperates with Siemens. It's a bit like commercial aircrafts designer/manufacturer and supplier relationship, the manufacturers designed their own product and can implement in-house components, does not mean they must need to cut off your cooperation with foreign suppliers.

Please try to research and pronounce Chinese names as correctly as possible! It doesn’t take much research to know that Zhejiang is pronounced juh-jiang and not zay-huh-jiang. It would make a nice touch to your videos! Also, you pronounced fuxing and hangzhou right!

With respect, if China is going to be a frequent destination, try to learn how to pronounce words. Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang province, pronounced "juh-J'YAHNG".

they are cheating on the numbers, CR400 can only run at 350km/h, cr300 at 250km/h and CR200 at 160.😅 very misleading.
The second class seats are badly ergonomic designed, hard like wooden chairs and my back always feel hurt after long rides. Even the older Crh380 series feels better

"No, the CR series has reached its speed. This is the design speed. The speed during the test has exceeded its speed. For safety, it is chosen to run at a speed lower than its design speed. For example, CR400, the design speed is 420, the test exceeds 420, because of safety reasons, it is used to run at 350."

Eduction and humbly learning are good things :). Trains are engineered with *max speed*, but commercially operated at *operational speed*. In China the difference is always about 50km/h. I mean, you got to have safety margins for these mechanical and electrical giants, right?

Japan invented this technology and China stole it. Let's compare. How many times has the Shinkansen been involved in an accident? None. How many time has the Chinese knock off left the tracks and crashed. More than a few times.

Why don't you search for Japanese Shinkansen accidents? If China is an imitation, then why did the accident happen?
