Yes, but on average, 11 teams have crossed 50 kilometers while TOGO has led more than 400 km, so TOGO was 12 years old, although the biggest hero deserved this film.

Togo, Balto, and all the dogs that run deserved the credits. I truly hope there’s a doggy heaven so the ones that lost their lives during the run are happy now. All the dogs that run deserve all the love. They were all heroic.
@@Chowow Funny thing is, it DID happen in real life when they crossed back over the Sound back then. Togo helping to pull his team to shore actually happened.
I've heard people in production talking about how hard it is to film with animals, when I watch this movie, I kept wondering how they were able to shoot so well.
In general, it's difficult to work with animals since even when you have a well-trained and well-behaved dog they're still dogs. It's why most directors hate working with children and animals. They can't deny their nature.
I just watched the BTS for The Call of the Wild and it was almost completely filmed on a set in LA in front of a blue screen with old-fashioned shops constructed in front of it. It's awesome that Willem Defoe and the crew committed to making this in actual locations, even though it was super cold.
Both films involved a great deal of in-studio/soundstage work. The only scenes filmed outdoors in Togo were a few of the long running shots and a few exteriors. A lot of this was digital /watch?v=K80ZO_qP2Cc It's way better to do it digitally than to put dogs or people at risk just to tell a story.
The movie is amazing! I hope this comes out on DVD my dad loved this movie so much he wanted to get the DVD. My favorite scene is were Togo becomes a troublemaker and he gets out and tries to make the huskies follow him and the his owner goes through hurtness.
I am so upset that they gave balto all the credit including a statue when togo did most of the work running 264 miles to get the serum where it needed to be
If you look up at what happened to balto, you will see that Togo was the one with the happy ending. Dogs don't care bout fame or money. Balto and the dogs in his team suffer a lot because of the "fame" they got.
Well i am also upset cuss balto was my childhood hero. I got husky's becuase of the balto movie. Balto is also still my hero. Togo did do alot but the musher of balto asked to give togo credits but they rejected it. So its not balto nor the mushers fault. My childhood based on a not 100%fact that bothers me. 34 years old guy mad about this wen its been ages. Balto will still be my nr1 hero
An incredible movie, actors did awesome job, especially Willem Dafoe, he is real copy of Leonhard Seppala, I also feel very sorry for Togo, I cried at the end of the movie and revised the ending many times. Togo was a real hero and always will be, it’s a pity that Seppala realized too late that Togo was always living just because of him...
I am very amaze of all the dogs who are in this film, especially the siberian huskies who played little togo and old togo.. you can see Willem Dafoe having so much fun while filming this
Watched the movie yesterday night. And god what an experience it was. The visuals and cinematography were great. Even the sound design when they were crossing the *Sound* was chilling. And to see the behind the scenes now, truly underscores how just pure effort and talent creates great experiences.
This movie better win something!!! I love this film with all my heart. I learned about the other dog in school but Togo was the true amazing life saver!!! This movie is amazing, a true treasure and the greatest emotional ride. What an amazing true story! What a true angel of a dog; Togo!!!
Togo and fritz can still be seen today they are at the Iditarod trail museum in willow Alaska...Balto is in a museum too in Cleveland Ohio....in 2018 he was brought back to Alaska for the ceremonial start of the Iditarod in Anchorage it was the first time he had been home since 1926
I let my female husky off the leash once by a lake and she took off and she’s small for a husky 100% purebred though and she took off like a jet, once I caught up to her she looked more happy then anything in the world, didn’t even need to put the leash back on cause she followed me the rest of the way.
Togo's statue is now also in that park sadly he has no placard saying his name or what he did? Maybe with this movie out he will finally get that? Also his body is in a museum on display Balto is next to him. It was not Balto's fault he did the job that they wanted him to do he ran that last stretch in blinding zero visibility weather! Reporter's was the idiot's humans! Fox's name never got mentioned they brushed that dog also because the name was to confusing a husky named Fox? So Balto got the fame when fox was the actual lead dog. Togo was the hero he helped saved all the lives of those people but he didn't do it alone alot of dog's died on that relay to get that medication, busted lungs frost bitten paws, frozen to death. So togo being 12 year's old it was amazing he made that journey at all but he did! Sad part after all he did because of his love for his owner he didn't get to live out his life resting by the fireplace at his feet! He was given to a lady musher and she used him to breed puppies for another two years. That's the part that gets me he loved the man so much jumped through a window just to get back to him when he gave him away the first time , the dog was loyal till the end sadly humans never are.
Loved everything about this movie. Made me think of the journey of Natty gann, another great Disney movie to watch if you love dogs and family classics!
I feel like in thw park where the bakto statue is,Togo should get a big statue where hes more recognised. And fox should have one because he did just as much of a job as balto!!!
I don't care what ppl say about Willem. I think he's a good actor. I love how he does his job as an actor in this movie along with when he was in Spider-Man films back in the early 2000s.
Aircraft made dog sleds increasingly rarer, but the advent of the snowmobile in the 1960's made them virtually extinct except for sport and competition. Very few people remember a time when dog sleds carried the mail.
All the dogs that were part of that serum run were heroes. Not just Togo, not just Balto. All of them. I'm sure they all are now in dog heaven.

I worked on Eight Below filming. Paul Walker had the same fun time that Willem shows he had on this film. Working with "huskies " can be alot of fun

Who needs CGI?
Such a great movie

Not Balto fault, so how about go after the people that did that instead of bringing Balto name in every opportunity. Start with Disney...
If you look up at what happened to balto, you will see that Togo was the one with the happy ending. Dogs don't care bout fame or money. Balto and the dogs in his team suffer a lot because of the "fame" they got.
