this touched my heart sooo deeply with sad tears in the beginning and then VERY HAPPY tears to see the baby elephant bonding with her new family, tks for posting xoxo THANK YOU ALL STAFF FOR WHAT YOU DO FOR ALL ELEPHANTS XOXO GOD BLESS YOU ALL
I agree, Gene. While we were in Botswana, 90 elephants were slaughtered for their ivory. Today, photos were released of Melania feeding elephant orphans in Nairobi...I wonder if her stepsons, the elephant killers, were watching. Oh, the irony...
I wish I could help, of course. I thank you for what you do and so many like you for what they have done. I wish you good luck in stopping the Ivory poacher. The poacher does this to feed their family. If we could just teach them how to farm or give them enough water to farm with, it may slow down and eventually stop the poaching. I know this must have been tried. Was there any progress in stopping poaching when farming was introduce to these African tribes?
I honestly believe that a DEATH PENALTY NEEDS TO BE IMPOSED ON POACHERS/HUNTERS. They've killed the poor defenseless wild elephants and tTHAT should not be allowed to happen ever again!!
Good question, as she is not physically disabled. She was very close to Lima Lima and Zongoloni (the 3 of them were moved to Umani together), so perhaps the Trust wanted to keep the 3 of the together. Also, Quanza has trauma-related issues, and it's easier to monitor elephants at Umani then it is at the other 2 locations.
Keep them safe. Thank you from all over the world

Que seres maravillosos.
Quanza still has PTSD even until now. Poor girl witnessed her family slaughtered by poachers.
Thank you for the video
Yes, Quanza can be angry and aggressive. She may never recover from the violence she witnessed.
Thank you for caring.
@@gregmuelrath Ok, finally some information. I appreciate your response. I was wondering her status.
thank you so much !!! I adopt Muridjo and Talek !! soon 3 others ! my dream is like yours visiting them one day !!!
I love muridjo and pardamant. They both tried to survive by themselves for ages.
I hope so too!
I love elephants! They are beautiful and intelligent! Awesome! I am so glad that still have wonderful human being save their lives!😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for adopting and supporting them! Quanza is GORGEOUS! So utterly awful about her famous mother&family!
That news broke me down!
Thank you Mr and Mrs Muelrath! I live vicariously through your regular visits to DSWT! :)
Thank you for this video. Very beautiful. I love the elephants. ❤❤🐘🐘😍. Muchas gracias.
Her story is real sad, it made me cry, poor little girl, and her 6month old brother is missing 😔😔 i hate poacher so much,
Inspiring. Beautiful background music also
I'm so glad this work is being done...but sad that it has to be done at all. Poaching an elephant is akin to poaching a human being in my mind...

POACHERS SHOULD BE ELIMINATED, ONCE & FOR ALL:/

Unfortunately, selling ivory is far more profitable than selling vegetables.
How do you get this much access to the elephants? I would love to visit some day.
Deb, visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's website to learn more about visiting the eco-lodges

Totally agree. It is sickening to see so many orphans.....
The death penalty is not worth killing a human over an elephant ... Prision time and a fine ... But not their life ... That's to much ..
Music is too loud. We can’t hear the people talking.
Why was Quanza sent to Umani springs vs. Ithumba or Voi?

Al animals would like to be Procted by all predators ......
Tusks, cut the things off of the eles, some herds in southern africa have stopped growing them altogether and the ele's don't need them
No, tusks help with feeding and digging
