I have a monthly subscription for Lightroom Mobile using it on my tablet. That model enables me to keep flexible when in the future my post processing flow might change. I can easy adapt. E.g. as I adapt from Android to Apple. Just changing the subscription. It didn’t cost me extra money. Great topic David!
David. Thank you for starting this channel. Your wisdom and honesty is greatly appreciated. When I agree with most of your insight and information then I know I'm in the right place. It seems like some content creators get paid to complain. See you next Sunday.
Thanks so much, really appreciate your kind and generous words. I fear the issue runs deeper. They have nothing but complaining and whining and therefore they have no choice but to continue. I hate this attitude and this why I stood up and started to talk. 😀🔥
I think the problem everyone is talking about is not subscription vs one time. I have zero problem with the subscription model. The big problem is Adobe’s terms and conditions: their full right to use your work anyway they want. I agree with you that TODAY serious professionals use Adobe, but things will change. Exactly for this reason…a serious professional will not tolerate such terms and conditions.
It is still hypocrisy - Meta, Google etc. do it and nobody cares. You are being robbed by WhatsApp, you upload your contacts and violate other people's privacy (rights!) etc. I do accept because it happens everywhere, they are just one more among others who always did it. It is what it is.
@@DAVCOHPHO - I can already see the "objectivity" of your assessment when you say "nobody cares". I do. I do not use META products. I have moved from Adobe Premiere Pro to DaVinci Studio. Photoshop is a matter of time. I am going to say it again. People do not have problem with subscription per se, but they have a problem with arrogance and Adobe using their work the way Adobe wants. Stealing IP.
Your choice. Your photos are already AI-ed, by your sensor and the software you anyway use. AI only helps me to achieve things quicker. There is no virtue in stupid manual masking a sky etc when AI can do it with one click. Whatever, AI is here to stay and it will get rather more than less and I welcome that.
I almost didn't watch this to the end because I felt you'd missed the point of the Northrup's gripe. Now I've watched the wholw video I see you like controversy. Good for you but you didn't address the bigger issue of stealth and deception. As a photographer do you not always want to be in control of how your work is monetised? I love LR and PS but that doesn't mean I'm happy for them to use any part of my image without some kind of licencing agreement. As things currently stand, I'm not too fussed with how Adobe's running things. I don't use generative fill but as creatives we should keep our eye on the ball. The cost of creative freedom and ownership of our work is eternal vigilance.

Thank you very much.Btw, you can use that subscription also on your macbook or windows device to ensure a seamless workflow.
Great to hear this David! Most enjoyable. It’s not the strong, but the adaptable who survive and thrive.
Thank you Robert 😀♥

I agree with most of this.
I still use LR5.7 because I dont want a subscription model.
I dont want AI for my photos.
