UA-cam Premium was my best purchase of the year. I listen to youtube while I work and move around a lot. Not having to have my phone constantly charging to keep up with the power consumption has been game changing! Happy New Year, Shawna!

I love UA-cam premium! I don’t watch TV,pulling the plug in January 2020….though I did just buy a fire tv so I can watch UA-cam on it…for doing qigong and watercolor tutorials is game changing!

My favorite couple of purchases … a consultation with a doc who diagnosed and prescribed a treatment for a condition I’ve suffered with for years - within weeks I felt amazing!
And delicious flannel sheets for this winter.
Plus a lipliner, lipstick & gloss in the perfect shade, it’s so great to have just one of each that I reach for every day.
A pair of bootcut jeans I had tailored to fit perfectly!
This silky magnesium based lavender scented lotion from the farmer’s market.
An electric Presto canner & an Excalibur dehydrator … wow, I preserved soooo much from my garden this year and a Greenstalk upright garden tower.
A spectacular wrought iron coffee table fire pit my neighbor gave away when moving.
A Berkey water filter system.
I got my Montblanc fountain pen repaired (instead of purchasing those cruddy Bic pens!)
And, finally, a share in a local farm so I’m supporting a local grower & get fresh meat, eggs & dairy every week.
Worst purchases (which I returned) … air fryer, air filter, toooo many jeans trying to make them work - instead I got 1 pair tailored,
WORST that I couldn’t return … a case of Carnivore Bars. Totally an influencer buy & I hate them 🤢

Liebe Shawna, thank you for the great video. 2023 was also a special year for me; for instance, I stopped wearing eyeshadow altogether, and in general, makeup and buying makeup became irrelevant to me. Instead, I've been excited about a new, very good fully automatic coffee machine, as well as handcrafted cups. Traveling has become much more important to me now, and it will remain so in 2024. It makes me happy that my life could change in that way. Best regards from Halle in Germany, and a Happy New Year.

Hey, Shawn! I'm a newish subscriber and I've been binging and rewatching so many of your no buy and low buy videos, it's really made me step back and take my shopping choices into my own hands. I find it so beautiful that you can talk so much about each product you bought and reflect on how they affected you and your relationship with them. I hope to be this mindful and this in tune with my purchases in the future!

The best thing I paid for this year was a personal trainer ! Nowadays it’s such a joy to train twice a week with him (it was a real pain at first because I was out of shape).
Other favourites this year are : a beautiful ceramic mug, a blouse and pyjamas with a matching quilt that my mother sew for me as well as a bathrobe, and a bodywash with bha for post workout showers.
Unsurprisingly, makeup isn’t part of the list… Also I got 42 new fashion items and regret 14 of them already. I’ll try to reflect on these purchases to avoid the same mistakes in 2024.

I discovered those Sephora eyeliners this year and they are SO GOOD. Those specific ones, not the other Sephora ones, they have a few versions. The cool brown one has a weird name I dint remember lol but I love that color so much. I love this type of video, if you do it again I would love to hear more about the decision making process for different items - were they planned purchases, did you use any shopping/coping skills to make a better decision, how long or short you were thinking about the purchase, how you would process that purchase decision differently, etc. Maybe that more applies to the bad purchases for some but I just like hearing about the process and practicing mindful and healthy shopping along with if things were good or bad in the end!
you're right that sharing the circumstances for how and why I bought things will be a nice addition to the future. Everything on the list even the duds were intentional in some way as in I went out looking for something in specific. The only exception would be the pink shirt as I got it at a clothing swap and paid $0 so I felt ok with that. In the case of the yellow pants I wanted to get a new pair of pants that would add new functionality to my wardrobe. Although I didn't know it would be yellow pants when I went out looking for pants, they fit a criteria. The other kind of 'exception' was the rainfall shower head. We didn't see it and go oh let's buy it we went looking for one. Out of all the purchases that was the most 'impulsive' because we didn't spent a ton of time considering it like other purchases and decided a bit quickly.
I have severely bad eyesight and in the past few years have not been able to wear contact lenses anymore. Buying 3 pair of glasses the last time I needed a new prescription was the best thing I have ever done. Not only do I have a choice but I no longer live in fear that I will break them and literally not be able to see or do anything until I get new ones.

Congratulations on another successful year. I’m two years into low/ no buys. It has drastically improved my life. I love how when you spend thoughtfully and consciously you buy much much less but tend to love what you buy (when it’s needed and well researched). Love your content.

Thanks for getting me through a rough elliptical session 😄 I can’t imagine having only 1 pair of glasses - just for the fact something might happen to one pair and it’s good to have a backup (or to switch out depending on what look I’m going for~) so I stick with 2 pairs! Best purchase of the year for me was a bidet!!!

I have 4 pairs of glasses lol. It’s so much cheaper to get them online, and you can get bogo deals. I’ll get the same shape in different colors! I stopped getting them in person years ago, it’s such a ripoff! Yes, rainfall showers are amazing. I do wonder if it makes my water bill higher though 🤔
ollie quinn is kind of like one of those online brands. they have cheaper fixed rate glasses and I bought mine when they had a promotion too so there was extra discount. Regular instore brands start at like $250 and are so expensive for plastic! It shocked me
May I ask what online store you use for glasses. I was shocked when I wanted prescription sunglasses so I’m definitely looking at alternatives now. Thanks!

I also had to have my earwax removed every year untill my doctor said I could also get an operation for widening my ear canals(with me the problem was a combinationof too much wax and too narrow of ear canals). It was a really short surgery, did both ears at the same time, didn't hurt at all but had to walk around with pads on my ears for a week so just took of work because it looked ridiculous 😂
Best decision ever, hadn't had any ear infection or problems with my ears since that operation 🎉
